The Giver > Gathering Blue > Whatever the other one is.

Lois Lowry is an awesome author.

It was alright. I'm not into that kind of emo futuristic stuff though. But still, it wasn't that bad.

Yes. I found the overall story to be a bit too gloomy for my taste.

It was, but that was the point that she was trying to get across.

The novel would have been much less potent if it'd been happy all through.

Well I haven't read the book in a while, so I would say it WAS amazing but technically it's still a story, so it IS amazing...

Read it in grade seven. Kicked some serious ass. Let my dad borrow my school copy too, he loved it.

Hmmm...the Giver. I think I remembered it. It was a black hardcover book that I burrowed from the library that I read it in 7th grade. It was one of my favorites and then I lost the school's copy and had to pay for it. XD Anyway, I liked how the story was told to the characters although I didn't really like the the way it left me hanging, to be quite honest.

Aww. Nostalgia strikes again.

I remember reading it in the sixth grade; it's a shame, because I was so young I couldn't really appreciate just how wonderful a novel it is. I understood the storyline, but I couldn't grasp it tight enough. I'm sure if I went back and read it again today, I'd have a much higher appreciation for it.

I don't like reading books most of the time unless they completely capture my interest.

I like how the setting isn't revealed until you get into the story.

that device is what prevents this book from becoming a movie I think.
