[ Sol ]
*An OmniChaos and Ubiquity collaboration*
Earth, our planet... Well, their planet, or at least it seems like there are those who wish it to be like that. Though, whether or not this issue is really a matter up for discussion is another story entirely. The people of the world know that the world isn't going anywhere and, apparently, neither are the ones that have come to be known as the Helio, along with places such as the Eos Boarding Schools. These schools exist for those that are different, for those who are changing, and for those who just might have a chance to blossom into something more: an entity that is greater than the common human being. These people, one day, will grow into a being known as a Sol, but for now they shall remain a Selene.
A long time ago, humans who showed signs of change were heralded as witches or as warlocks. Regardless of the foul names given to them, these people had two things in common: They were different, usually with some sort of incomprehensible power, and they were killed because of it. These people were ones destined to be gifted by the magics of the earth, whether it be an affinity for fire or the delicate ability to hear from miles away, the higher being had for some reason chosen these people.
However, they were marked, thus, most of the time, sealing their fate...
Those gifted by magic are imbued with an outline of a sun on their forehead. It is well known that such a symbol automatically means that one houses a gift of magic, but even so, a mere sun with rays of light only shows the Selene, the child stage of the Helio, is growing. The body of a Selene goes through a certain change that fully brings them into a form known as the Sol, the adult stage of the Helio. When this finally happens, the purple sun mark is filled in and the mark expands, a design fitting for the Helio's affinity, and normally makes its way across the forehead, down the cheeks and to the neck. However, not everybody completes the change. Many Helio die, which is the main purpose of the Eos Boarding Schools.
It is here that Selene begins to understand and learn what it will mean to turn into a Sol, especially about the physical changes. The body becomes more balanced, sight is sharper, healing is faster, and there is no longer a need to rest for long periods of time. Hair and nails grow faster than before and aging slows down to a pace that out-dates humans for centuries at times. There is certainly more, but Selene learn of these things as they are at the Eos Boarding schools; that is if they make it. Many Selene die before the change is complete as their bodies reject the change and they bleed out from every orifice, slipping away unto nothing.
For the most part, the majority of humans are either welcoming or indifferent toward the Helio and the boarding schools for them. There are some who believe the Helio are the next step in human evolution or that they are beings sent down from heaven, while some think they are nothing more than regular people tricking people into believing they are special.
Then, there are those who believe what the Helio are and what they are doing is both a sin and a crime against nature...
Stefan XIV, who just recently been given the title Pope, is one of these people. He believes that the Helio are evil beings who were sent to coax the weak-minded with their dark magic provided by Satan and that they must be stopped as they threaten the souls of the innocent. Therefore, Pope Stefan XIV secretly ordered a special group of people to go forth and deal with the Helio problem. Thus the Seven Virtues, seven blessed followers of God who each adopted one of the seven heavenly virtues as their name and personality, left Vatican City and began their mission.
The Seven Virtues first scattered across Europe, wiping out every, single Helio school that was known. With Europe cleansed of this evil, the Seven Virtues traveled across Asia and then Africa, continuing to wipe out the boarding schools. With those three continents clean, the Seven Virtues made their ways to the Americas, starting with the northern continent. Their first stop brought them to Albany, New York, where an Eos Boarding School resided. However, unbeknownst to them, this particular school was different...
[ Affinity ]
Now blessed by the mark of God, the Helio are granted the powers of magic. However as cliche as this can sound magic does not mean that somebody can blink and cast a fire spell. Helio have what one would call an affinity, a blessed status that grants them as the name implies an affinity for a select thing. For instance one with an affinity for dogs would be able to communicate with any kind of dog, take to their hearts, and understand their feelings, maybe even take on the form of powers of a canine. Keep this notion in mind when selecting your affinity(s) and don't go overboard as Selenes don't have complete control, or knowledge of their affinity.
As I know many of you will ask, it is possible to be blessed with an affinity to an element, maybe even more than one, but because that is completely cliche and I get sick of seeing the same shit, elemental affinities are severely limited... Lastly, take note that Selene and Sol are able to cover themselves in mist and darkness as to be unseen and unheard, but not always from each other, and not always perfectly...

[ Rules ]
1. No Godmodding or power-playing.
2. Literacy: It's understandable that no one is perfect, but no one wants to read a post full of incomprehensible crap.
3. Romance is allowed, just keep it within the forum standards.
4. The rp may be somewhat mature (e.g., deaths may be graphic). If you can't handle it, don't join.
5. No limitations for the number of characters you have. You just need to be able to keep up with them all.
6. Activity: Please, only join if you plan on posting. I don't want someone to join and never post. It's very annoying. Also, if you do plan on joining and start up a template, finish it. Finally, I ask for the people who will participate in the rp to stay an active poster. Posting once or twice a week isn't asking too much.
7. Keep the fighting realistic. No one wants to be in a fight with a person who dodges everything you throw at them.
8. No one liners. One paragraph minimum, strive for at least two.
9. The spots for the Virtues require both a good template and an example post that should prove your skill and show that you have an understanding of the character's virtuous personality.
10. Ubi and I reserve the right to deny you from joining or remove you from the rp and may if it is deemed necessary.
11. Enjoy.
