The "Bookholder"

Simon opened the door of his house and he entered. Immediately he threw the keys on the table. He took a deep breath -after all he was tired from the school. He threw his bag too and then he sit. "What a day!" he muttered. Just then he heard a sound. "What's that?!" he was a little scared. "Everyone has left! Mum and dad work right now... I'd better check it. It came from the attic..."

He went to the up floor and then up to the attic. It was dark. He switched on the light. "Is anyone here?!" he asked. No one replied. "Don't freak me out!" he said but no one replied again. He made a step. Suddenly a shadow passed in front of him and knocked him down. "What was that?!" The shadow became bigger and bigger and it finally took the form of a man -a huge man. "A-A-A monster?!?!?!" he yelled as he saw the shadow-man. The face of the man wasn't recognizable. It was covered by darkness.

"W-Who you are and what are you doing there!!!???" he shouted. The man was silent. But after a few seconds he said:
"Before me lies something everyone wants to have, but only the chosen ones can claim it!"
"A-Are you crazy?! What are you talking about?!"
"Only time will show..." he replied and he disappeared in a flash of light.

"What was that thing?! It scared me..." he muttered as he saw a paper on the floor. He took it and he "scanned" it. It was a blank page of a book. He examined it carefully. "He was speaking for that?!" he thought and stood up. While he was holding the paper it began to shine. The light was very bright. Simon closed his eyes. When it stopped shining Simon opened his eyes. The paper had disappeared. "Where it went?! All strange things are happening to me?!"

On the floor was placed a book. "The page transformed into a book?!" He grabbed the book and he opened it. All the pages were ripped except the one he found earlier. After a few minutes he went to the kitchen and he sat on a chair. He opened the book again. He examined the blank page more careful this time and he saw some letters. "I can't read them!" he complained. Those letters weren't normal letters!

The next day came. Simon woke up early. He had to go to the school! "School is boring!" he muttered as he placed in his bag the book he found earlier. "I will examine it in the school~"

The lesson was very boring, however Simon had to attend it! After all he was a very good student, one of the best in his class.

Finally, after a long time, the ring rang. "It's time for break!" he said and he stood up. He took his book together and he ran outside of the classroom. He stopped in a corridor on the second floor of the school. No one was there. He was alone, so he opened the book and he examined it again. He had to find why this book was so "special"!

This is the first time I've ever done this, so I hope it's okay for people

A flash of light appears, and a dark creature casually walks out towards a group of unknown people.

"The book seems to have accepted him!" said the dark creature.
"Yes, now after so long, it can finally begin." said one of the unknown people, who had a sort of authority in its voice.
"Good, the players have been picked , all we have to do now is give them a little push in the right direction" said the other unknown, who seemed to be the leader of the group.

The leader raised its hand and another flash of light appeared in front of the group. What was left, was a large, black humanoid creature, with large horns and tentacles on its back.
It also seemed to be bleeding black mist from its body.

"You summoned me, my lord!" It asked the leader while kneeling and bowing.
"Yes, I want you to take watch of a specific human and to do what seems fit when the time comes!" said the leader.
"Very well, my lord!" said the creature, and in a flash of light it disappeared.
"It begins now!" and one by one each of the unknown people disappears in a flash of light.

Simon was alone in the corridor. No one was there except for him. "I'm lucky that no-one is here~!" he thought and he touched the page. Suddenly the book began to shine. "What is happening?!" Simon said loudly, but no one heard him. After a few minutes the light faded. Simon opened his eyes (he closed them because the light was too bright). The book was back to normal except... the fact that red letters had appeared on the page -the only page that the book had. "I can't understand the letters~!" he complained. "Is that supposed to mean something?!"

"I don't see why the leader is bothered with this insignificant human" the creature thought, while keeping watch from the shadows.
"It doesn't seem to be very..." all of a sudden a bright flash of light happened, and the creature noticed that the book the human had, now had the first page of writing.
"This is going much quicker then I thought it would go! I should probably do something!" it said to itself.

It then noticed the human looking confusingly at the book before promptly putting it away.
"I see, so he can't read the words yet. I'll give him some more time to see what he will do!" and with that the creature faded back into the darkness.

The ring rang. Simon returned to the classroom. He placed his book inside his bag, because he didn't want the others to see it.

The lesson ended after 45 minutes. "Finally~!" Simon muttered. He grabbed his bag and he left the classroom quickly. "The school ends for today~!"

He opened the book again. Now he was in the boys toilet. He was alone again. Most of the student had left. "Now I know how to make those letters appear!" he said and he closed his eyes. He concentrated. After a few minutes he opened his eyes, but the letters hadn't appeared. "What~?!" he said loudly. "I thought that by concentrating the letters would appear."

Just then a flash of memory came to his mind. He remembered the man or woman (he didn't know exactly what it was), that he met at the attic. He was cloaked so he couldn't see his or her face. The cloaked figure had said that Simon was the "special". What he or she was meaning?! Was that book, he was holding, useful for something?! Was it a magic book or something like that?! Simon didn't know what to do next, however he wanted to solve the "mystery" of the book!

OOC: btw, "wagging" is what we say for skipping/bunking school/class xD as I have no idea what you guys use for slang, so tell me if I ever say something you dont get =D

Stop look and listen Aly thought to herself, simple road crossing rules, simple wagging rules too Aly stood by the door and listened, creaking it open slightly she looked left, then right, about to walk out she stoped as a boy entered the corridor holding a book, she watched him curiously, not sure whether she should step out from her hiding spot in the girls bathroom, he touched the book and it shined what is he doing she thought, there were many people in the school, so it wasn't surprising he didn't look familiar. the bell rang and he walked off, after waiting a few minutes to make sure everyone was gone Aly walked out from the bathroom and towards her final class

"Aly you weren't in classics again" as everyone else left the school grounds, Aly was cornered by a class member, after fighting off a series of questions she managed to get away "aww man, I'm like the last person here again!" she said out loud as she slowly wondered off towards her home stoping when shiny things caught her eye

Simon was walking in the middle of the road. In his hand he was holding the book. He hadn't find a solution yet. He was thinking as he was walking. At this point Simon noticed a girl. She was observing something. "What is she watching?" he thought. Suddenly a car appeared. The owner of the car was driving at high speed. "I don't think he is a careful driver!" Simon said loudly and he run up to the pavement. "I'm safer here~"

Next to him was the girl. She was standing alone and she was observing something. "Have you got a problem?" Simon asked her. If she had a problem he could help her~. In his hand he was still holding the "magic" book.

"Having the sacred book out for anybody to see or take, at any time!" the dark monster said through clenched teeth.

"The more I watch this, disgusting human, the more he continues to insult, not only my race, but my masters!" the creature said while keeping watch again from the shadows.

"Well, I have had enough of this pathetic humans! it said, as it extended its extremely long and sharp claws.

And with that, it began slowly making its way in the shadows towards the two humans.

"Wha-a-a?" Aly was startled from her day dreaming, she looked around to the boy "It's you!" she exclaimed noticing him from before, he held the book "oh may I see please?" she asked, but didn't wait for a reply and yanked it from his hand opening it

"EEE~!" Simon didn't know what he should do. He just let her grab the book. "Well", he began saying and he scratched his head, "were you dreaming?! I heard you saying it!" He laughed, but he stopped cause he didn't want to insult her. "Anyway~! By the way, do you know what this book is? I found it~!" he stopped. He wasn't sure if he should let her know. Suddenly Simon felt something. Like someone was near them. However he scanned the place and no-one was there. They were alone. After all it was midday.

The girl was still holding the book in her hands and she was examining it. Suddenly the book shone and the same letters appeared. "W-What is happening?!" Simon thought loudly.

"Finally I can have some fun!" the creature thought after he saw the girl take the book from the human boy.
"This human has been careless and look what he has let happen, letting another human lay eyes upon the book." it said in an increasingly rising aggressive tone.

"Well, I'll just have to make sure that this will never happen again, and I'm sure my masters would agree!" the creature, through a razor sharp toothed smile, said.

It then readied itself to attack the two helpless humans.

Taces was called by a old freind to see if the specific human had learned to read the book. Taces jumped at the dark figure in front of the two humans with his Katana looking at the humans Taces said"Run I'll hold this one off".

Simon was astonished. A weird creature was next to him and a man, who was carrying a sword appeared out of nowhere!
