Defend the Kingdom (Sign-ups - Action/Romance)

"We'll be fine, of course Yuki. The Enemy has to make it through the Gates, the Courtyard, the maze of corridors, past the Library, the King and Queen's Quarters, before they ever do reach the Western Tower."

"I know," she said softly, quietly delighting in the way he gently ran his fingers through her hair. "But if there is an attack, we can't just sit here." She smiled. "As much as we'd rather stay here, it's our job to defend the castle from any oncoming attacks."

Girlish joy shone in her face as he tenderly held her closer, nuzzling at her neck.

"The worst that could happen is that we'll get bored waiting for the next attack, and besides, I don't think I'd let them near you even if you tried, Yuki."

Yuki buried herself into his warm chest, arms tightly wrapped around him. She felt unable to respond in the way such a beautiful comment deserved to be replied to, so thought it was better to bask in the silent affection. Lost in his embrace, she felt so small, and fragile. Usually, her tiny frame embarrassed her, but she felt comfortable cradled in his powerful arms.

"There's Light, then there's Dark. Neither are Good, and neither are Bad, it is merely based on perception of the two, and the opinion of the perceptor. We consider the Enemy Kingdom to be Evil because they attack us. They consider us Evil because we seem a threat to their civilization. So I guess that solves your question."

"I guess," she smiled, toying with the folds of his clothing. Another flash illuminated the room, followed by a low growl of thunder. Casting her eyes to the dark window, she saw the black clouds and heavy rain outside. The sky appeared to be ablaze; the lightning would split the clouds for a brief moment, letting a streak of red twilight sky show itself alongside the blue forks of energy for a few seconds. "It's getting late." She smiled, quite clearly disappointed that night was arriving so soon. Leaving his side now that their feelings were out in the open did not bear thinking about. "I'll probably have to get going soon, Viktor."

"Go if you wish, Yuki. I will be here if you need me." Viktor, kissing her lightly, his lips touching hers, and he broke the embrace reluctantly, looking into her light-blue eyes with his ice-blue pair.

The fingers on his right hand flexed slightly, and a puffball of blue flame began floating about the two of them, it's pale azure light throwing light faintly above them. The silver ring of the Greys glinted dully from the light of the puffball, the sapphire ornament holding a sort of glow about it, giving the ring an almost sorcerous prescence in itself.

"I assume I will see you tommorrow, perhaps, Yuki?" Viktor asked, his ice-blue eyes gazing into her light-blue pair cooly, the fingers on his right hand running through her honey-blonde hair gently, his left arm cradling Yuki against his chest, his eyes on hers.

"I assume I will see you tomorrow, perhaps, Yuki?"

"Of course," she replied cheerfully, holding herself to his chest in a warm embrace. She ran her fingers up and down his spine as they stood. Her blue eyes meeting his, she bestowed a lingering kiss upon his lips, its nature fully expressing to him that she was reluctant in leaving.

"Sleep well," she smiled to him, drawing away from him. "Thank you for everything. You didn't have to do any of it, Viktor."

Giving a small wave to him as she turned to leave, she flashed him a smile before continuing to walk herself down towards the hallway. Thoughts buzzed through her mind as she did so, flitting from her head to warm her heart. Today had been the best day in a long time, despite the hideous atrocities that had taken place during battle - and, even worse, in the library. Yuki silently hoped she'd be seeing a lot more of Viktor from that day.

After the long walk through the labyrinth of corridors, Yuki eventually reached her own quarters. They were not as grand, or as lavish as Viktor's, but she was happy to call it home. Letting herself in, she flopped down onto the bed, smiling to herself as she lay. A yawn escaped her as she removed herself from the heavy robes of the day. Curling up in the warm blankets, she could not keep her mind off Viktor. Reminding herself that morning would come soon enough, and she would see him again, she drifted off to sleep.

"I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight, Yuki. And I love you Yuki, and that is all that matters to me." Viktor said as she left, flashing a smile at him ere his closing of the door.

He sat down at the blackwood table, in a blackwood chair, the wood brushing his fingertips as he gripped his silver chalice of wine in his right hand, feeling the coolness of the metal against his skin as he drined the last of the cup, leaving small dregs of mint leaves within as he set it down upon the table, and got up, standing infront of the window for a few moments, before pulling the night-black curtains to.

He gripped his sword hilt with his right hand for a few seconds, and walked out of his quarters, shutting the door quietly as he left, and locking the seven locks of the door with seven keys, and made his way to the Library, his thoughts never straying from one person that he knew would be on his mind for several days, his ice-blue eyes gleaming from the light of the red-orange flames of the torches in the walls.

Yuki awoke with a start, her eyes wild with anxiety, her heart racing as she jolted up in bed. Breathing erratically for a few moments, she spent a few moments calming herself down before rubbing her clammy hands against her face.

"Must have been a nightmare," she whispered to herself shakily, slightly dumbfounded as to why she'd awoken in such a distressed state. She felt odd. Getting some fresh air seemed like the best option; this room was uncomfortably humid, perhaps the reasoning behind her sudden awakening.

She wrapped the light top blanket around herself, before slowly, and tremulously making her way to the window. Her trembling hands unlatched the shutters, before her fingers teased the rusted lock open. The rush of midnight air was cool against her skin as she stood, the breeze lifting her hair away from her shoulders. Resting her head on the windowsill, it was not long until she was lost within the confines of her thought.

"Today was so..." she mumbled, "strange."

Her emotions were doing battle with one another as she stood there, the new-found, pulsing warmth of her heart attempting to quell the painful, niggling sensations of loss within the pit of her chest. She stood silent, thinking to herself as her eyes wandered over the clear, starry night sky.

Viktor looked around from his seat in the Library, the red-orange glow of the torches in the walls reflecting off of his ice-blue eyes as his mouth whispered a mere incantation, causing all the lights to go out in the room, leaving it in total darkness, despite the full moon gleaming through the pale windows, the celestial light of the stars glittering faintly through the glass.

A word of magic, and a flash of blue flame, and the window in front of Viktor Twizen flew open, the dark curtains flying out from the sudden gust of wind, his red-gold hair flying forward, for just a moment, only one moment.

Then he leaped, his red-gold hair flying back, his ice-blue eyes filled with some strange light as he flipped in the air, coming closer and closer to the soft, wet ground, the trees coming nearer and nearer as he flew, down, down, and farther down, following the masonry of stones fit so securely into the mortar and woodwork of the Castle so closely it seemed as though he was a part of the building itself.

Then he vanished in balck and blue flames, leaving no trace of his passing.

A few minutes had passed, and the pleasant cool air had helped Yuki to cool down sufficiently. Her hair gently lifted from her skin as she drew the window in, leaving it just ajar.

Falling back into bed, she lay upon the blankets, silently lost in her thought once more.

"Viktor..." she whispered to herself, with a smile.

OOC: Just showing my face. Sorry the post is so short, but there wasn't much to say. I didn't want to make it the next day in case the others needed to do something. n_n;

from what i remember, i got kicked out of a tower, fell about 100 feet, but still survived. I then went to the military office.

I haven't been able to get on much this past month cos of school and band. Competitions every Saturday this month we've had *shudders*

MY SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS!!! *sniffs*

And we lost State Championships because people weren't focused, didn't watch the Drum Major, and possibly nervous.

Soo yeah.. School=Good Education and School=Little Fun Time. Band=Fun and Band=Sad.

I'll keep posting but probably not as much, dunno. Depends if I've got the time or not, and so on.

Only good thing is that I've got just the trip to Indianaoplis from November 15-17th, and the trip to New Orleans for the BCS Bowl whatever thingy in January.
