Ventura Academy: Battle For Dominance

Since most of the students had already gone to a designated stage, Alizark once again went to the receptionist's table to use the intercom. The receptionist just sat there and gave him a smirk, indicating that she didn't really care what would happen next. "Eh, someone's gotta do something while the headmaster isn't around." said Alizark before turning the microphone on. As he switched on the intercom, he blew into the mic to indicate if it was on, causing a rather loud screech that would've caused headaches to anyone if prolonged.

"Attention applicants. We will now start the written test portion. It is quite simple actually. You just have to write three paragraphs. The first paragraph will consist of your personal background. The second will be your expectations of the school. And the third will be about which clan you want to be in. After all applicants of a stage finish the written portion, the virtual fight will immediately commence. Also, there are only forty three minutes left before we end. That is all."

Alizark then turned the mic off and sat down beside the receptionist, waiting for the applicants to finish everything before the time limit finishes.

He let out a sighand started to right about his past. He spoke of how his mom and dad were killed. His second paragraph had half a paragraph still talking about his lifeand him looking for a good competitor. The other half simply stated that he wanted true competition out of this school. He left his third paragraph blank and checked the undecided box... This was a pure waste of time... Lets see what the others are thinking...

(Eventua told me he had resigned as Max, so I'll be playing as him as well.)

Max

I walked into the Earth arena and saw another student was already there. "What's up?" I asked, smiling and waving at him. I then heard one of the teachers talking on the intercom and walked over to the desk area. It looked like a classroom with no wall. I started writing about my friends and how we all had hoped to get stronger and protect each other. I said that I expected this school to have some decent competition and that I was hoping to further my strength. I checked the undecided box on the paper and then turned it in to the Earth teacher. I walked over to the virtual room and began my virtual battle. It was against a level 1 earth beast that resembled a monkey, only 3 times bigger and a lot slower. I grabbed a lance and a sword from one of the racks since we hadn't received our weapons of choice yet. The monkey simply sat in the same place, scooping up dirt and throwing it at me. I dodged the projectiles easily, and managed to get closer to the monster. It was harder to dodge now, but I still managed it. I stabbed the sword into the ground and pulled it out, bringing a wall with it to protect me from the piles of dirt he was throwing. I hit the wall with my bare hand, sending i blasting forward toward the monkey. The monster blew it aside with one hand and looked for me expectantly. I was in the air, standing on a pillar of dirt I had created when I had thrown my wall. I jumped off and dived down, stabbing the monster in the skull with my lance and slashing its neck with my sword.

I walked away from the now bloody corpse and put the weapons back. I walked up to the teacher and smiled, "Done."

(Note: Mark, Evan, and Josh will all do the same, but I'll write theirs a bit later after some other posts.)

Chad looked to his side and then saw some guy say hello to him. "Uh.. hi" greeted Chad cursing in his mind.

Chad grabbed the paper handed from the reception and then looked at it blankly. "Well, here goes" sighed Chad before writing his paragraphs. After a while he finished and then looked at the paper no longer blank. "Lets see how this sounds" thought Chad. After reading it outloud to him self he slumped his head. "I have a random background" thought Chad. He wort how he was used in experiments, but not about his wings since he wasn't allowed to reveal the secret to anyone, then he wrote about how wanted to imporve his skills and how he wanted to expand his knoledge, lastly he worte down he wanted to be in the eagle clan but only because he had a good mind for it. "Now time for the fight" answered Chad before he got started on his virtual fight in the room he had to fight in. It was nothing but a giant centiped looking monster. "This is gruesome" thougth Chad. He looked at the weapons and then sighed. "I'll just use my magic" thought Chad. "Shatter" he whispered beofe he borke all of the monsters legs. Then he jumped over to it quietly using his bottem parts of his wings for extra levitation. "Spike" whispered Chad before spikes from the ground made up of solid rock peirced the monster. Withing second blood squrted out of holes created and the monster lay dead. "Easy" thought Chad before walking off.

"Onamae wa nan desu ka"
Hmm, so she can speak Japanese too.
"Akatsuki Kurohime desu. Omae da?" (I'm Kurohime Akatsuki. You?)
Kuro heard another announcement, then some paper and pens were handed out.
Oh God... Not writing.
She had always hated writing. There was no point in it, you would eventually throw away the piece of paper you had written on sometime anyway. At least, that what she thought.
For the first paragraph, she wrote about her life in Japan and France, her parents deaths and how school had been.
For the second paragraph, Kuro thought about writing 'Well, if it's anything like the schools I've been to before, this academy will be crap', but she decided she'd better write something that would leave a good first impression. So, she wrote about hoping the students wouldn't be 'stupid idiots who can't fight for squat'.
As for the last paragraph, Kuro had heard about some of the different clans already. She decided that she'd join the Cobra clan, as it was probably the animal most like her, mysterious yet elegant.
After she'd finished, she looked at the girl who'd spoken to her before, to see if she was finished.

Opening her mouth to speak she quickly shut it after hearing the announcement, she relaxed a bit, she preferred a non-violent test. Smiling a bit at that joke she prepared to write, thinking about her past made her a bit sad, and nervous. She had nothing to write about! She started out about she was an orphan at birth and about learning Strong Fist and soon discovering Drunken Fist. Grimacing slightly at the mention of Drunken Fist, she quickly erased that portion, she didn't really want them to think she was a bumbling drunk. Continuing she finished the first paragraph another small victory!

Looking at the size of the first paragraph she frowned, it was much smaller than she thought. Shaking off that thought she started the second paragraph, 'I merely hope to survive in this school, I'm a bit nervous-', pouting a bit she erased that part, 'I hope to meet some friends here-', sighing she erased that tidbit. 'I hope to improve my abilities here, everyone seems strong', smiling she finally worded it correctly.

After finishing the second paragraph she froze in fear, C-clans?!, she hadn't heard about clans and didn't find them important. Pulling up her mask she rubbed her forehead nervously revealing her flawless, soft skin, her bright blue eyes concealed by her minty-green hair. Then as quickly as she pulled off the mask, she placed it back on .

'I have no intention of joining any clan, as I don't know which ones are out there. Who knows, maybe I'll find one?' Finishing the written portion, she was a bit proud of herself. Though the first and second paragraph is very short, and the third is only one sentence.

Shinichi waited and nobody answered. Selfish pigs, he thought. Then the guy from before walked up to him again and began chatting with him. Before Shinichi could speak some kid saying he wasn’t weak interrupted him. The guy handled it quickly and began to talk to him again. Once again as Shinichi was about to answer the exams were explained and begun.

Shinichi groaned when they announced the writing portion. We have to explain our pasts? He thought, I didn’t willingly choose to come here. He wrote about his parents and their past for the first paragraph. For the second he was stumped. First of all because his parents had forced him to go to that school and second because he had no great expectations for the school. He wrote one sentence, "to become the best i can be."

Bull, he thought and went on to the third paragraph. As he scanned the listing of clans none of them really popped out to him. They all seemed pretty weak. He smirked when he came to the last listing, undecided, Sounds good to me, he thought. When he finished he handed his paper to one of the teachers and walked to the virtual training room, anxious to get inside.

"First up, Shinichi Asahi?" Asked the teacher in charge.
Perfect, he thought and walked into the room.

As he stood in the center a overly sized Gecko appeared and began to bring down small bolts of lighting. They were pretty easy to dodge seeing how it was a level one. As Shinichi tried to get closer the lighting would prevent him from doing so. He ran back, grabbed a rapier from one of the racks and jammed the hilt into the ground. He then ran up to the creature and as it used its lighting attack the rapier acted as a lightning rod relinquishing all control of the creatures aerial lighting attacks. Seeing how it was a level 1 though, that was probably the only attack it knew.

Shinichi ran up to the monster and hardening only his hands with metal, he began to beat the monster into a pulp. He watched as it twitched on the ground and died. "Am I in?" Shinichi asked confidently.

Clapping his hands slowly and sarcastically. He wasn't applauding to raise the kids spirits but to show that he acknowledged his genius in the way he defeated it. He did think that it was a little excessive andthat he used to much power for such an insignificant monster, but Zing could honestly care less. He eyed the kid that just finished the battle with the level 1 monster, and gave a nod of approval. The teacher then said, "Nice job Shinichi! We will get back to you after everybody has gone. Next Zing?" Zing had walked into the middle of the room and awaited his opponent. The teacher looked a him and then said, "Wait... wWat are you doing here?" Zing knew that they had already seen his earlier battle. He just wanted to show them what a level 1 monster was compared to him. The teachers brought out the monster and waited for Zing to start.

The monster was a level one Sphinx. It had two heads and two different elemental attributes. A sphinx usually has it's main element and its main elements weakness, or the main element and it's booster. this Sphinx had random elements. It had a lion head with air moves, and a Eagles head with lightning moves. He suspected each head to have its own move but he wouldn't allow them to show them. The teachers halted the beast and made Zing remove his weapons from earlier and put them on the rack. Zing did so and then said, "Its ok... I don't need a weapon..." He then inserted his hands into his pockets.

The sphinx took flight with its eagle wings and as soon as it got off the ground its body clashed into the nearest rod, and disentergrated. "Done..." Zing had not even moved he stood in the same spot that he started in. He had just finished the popscicle he had from earlier and the only thing left was the stick. He removed it from his mouth and it disappeared int a flash of lightning his hand. He then walked to the guy known as Shinichi and asked, "How did you like that..." It was a rhetocial question. He didn't want an answer and didn't expect one at the moment. He then told the teacher. "I know that im in... Im going to the fire room..."

Staring at the performance he put up Miyuki, or more specifically Aoi, was a bit surprised. Do all students wield this strength? If anything she would need to surround herself with people who are extremely powerful, her mission: Try to get buddy-buddy with him. Bowing politely at Kurohime, "Name's Miyuki Izumi. I suppose it's my turn."

Walking towards the center of the room the teacher signaled her to remove her weapons. Shaking her head profusely she explained, "This really won't take long, I'll just waste time."

Awaiting her opponent she wanted a plan of sorts, but before she could figure out one a large beast appeared. An extremely large armored man, what appeared to be like a man, stood in front of her about 10x her size and 30x her weight. He held a large hammer that electricity ran through, the teacher quickly retaliated, "W-wait! This is the wrong one." But not offering an answer she launched herself towards the armored man, clenching her fists she propelled herself forward and ended up a few feet behind him.

The armored man soon fell to his knees then finally laid on the ground dead. She used the attack shishi sonson which is generally used with swords but she mixed it up.

Then walking towards Zing, after bowing polietely at Kurohime and wishing her good luck, she bowed once more at Zing. "F-fire room you say? I-I should tag along." Cursing inwardly at her stuttering.

She would be a great deal of help, after all; she just took down a level 5 Ruina.

Evan

"Hey teach, if I finish this on in less than 10 seconds you mind me going with them?" I asked, chuckling.

I saw him nod and another monster appeared, a level 1 this time. It looked like a big snake, that was crackling with electricity. I pointed a finger toward it and a bolt of lightning shot from the sky, but unlike most bolts it stayed there and continued to zap it. The snake was swelling like a balloon, trying to absorb the lightning. It finally popped like a balloon after five seconds of trying to absorb the lightning. I smiled and ran after them, wanting to get there in time to see Mark's fight.

Kuro nodded as Miyuki bowed at her, then went into the virtual battle room when it was her turn.
The creature standing in front of her looked a bit like a cross between a crocodile and a goat. It began to run towards her, but she stood still, waiting until the last moment. She swung her umbrella slightly, instantly closing it and twirled to the side of the creature. It was about to turn around when Kuro dropkicked it on the head, before performing a sort of karate chop on its snout. She then spun the closed umbrella in her hand and whacked the creature's side repetitively. The creature bellowed and collapsed, while Kuro walked out of the room triumphantly. She stayed in the lightning room afterwards, to find out what she was supposed to do next.

Shinichi smirked and decided to stay in the lightning room. "See you around," He told Zing as he walked away. He walked up to a wall and sat down. Hurry up, he thought as he watched some students get decimated by a level 1 and some excel.

He noticed one kid so scared out of his mind that he ran out crying, weak, he thought. He watched as Kurohime walked in to her fight. She used her umbrella to win the match. As she walked out he decided it wouldn't kill him to make some friends so he got up and strolled over to her.

"Good job," He said faking a smile again.

[Miku]

"Ariga-- I mean, thanks."
She had almost spoken Japanese again. It was a a force of habit, considering she originally came from Japan. As she looked at the boy's face, she decided it would be best not to tell him she knew he was faking that smile. She could almost always tell what people were thinking.
"You got a name?" she added, thinking it best to at least know some of her peers names.

"Come if you want... Don't lag behind..." As much as Zing could care less on whether they cam with himhe didn't want to seem like a jerk so he then continued as they walked out of the eastern hall and down the southern hall. "So... Whats your names?"

Jinan

Astrech limo rolled up to the school. Jinan had stepped out of the car and walked through the entrance after every one had already entered their rooms. He was walking up with three guards in uniform behind him. The guards that allowed the students to enter stopped him asking, "Kid what are you doing here? They already started the exam better luck year..." Jinan looked at the guard and took his list. "My name is already on here..." The guard looked at it and said "Oh! Your that kid! Im so sorry for the hassle please come in! Um... Make yourself at home!!!" Jinan was dressed in an all black suit and wore jet black shades. He had just come from a business meeting. He was now going to run his business from his new cell and get back to his search for talent.

I would be fire so i guess that i go down this hall. He walked down the South hall and appeared at the door. I guess this is it...Jinan saw kids walking towards the door. Great! Maybe they are late as well!!! Well i don't want them to know who i am... So i need to hurry and go inside...He slipped inside and his appearance change into his virtual form.He looked towards the kids that were already in then room and said in a joyful and nervous voice, "Uh... Wassup guys! Sorry im late..." He wanted to give off the mostnormal personality he could. If no one knew who he was then maybe he could feel who it feels to be a normal kid again.
