February 23 –

Welcome to Gerard Hartley’s Correctional Facility for the Mentally Deranged or the Cage as the patients call it. My name is Dr. Gerard Hartley and I am the head doctor and founder of this clinic. I am writing in this journal to record the event over the next couple of months or more if I see fit. For who ever reads this in the future, feel free to refer to the place as whatever you like because it doesn’t change anything about what we do here. Our doctors work their hardest with mentally disturbed patients to help them through there phase, sometimes there case is so bad, “The Cage” has become their home. Other than the fact that everyone in the clinic is mentally deranged, something bad is happening behind the scenes.
Now that is covered up, we can get to the real reason I have started this journal. The patients have been acting very out of character and one of them has told me that something unknown was in the clinic. It didn’t trouble me at the time; I thought it was his disorder. But just yesterday, one of the patients from sector B was killed, in his room, by himself. It looked like suicide but I knew the patient, I don’t think he would have the brains to do that. I should stop thinking of such things; people would think that I’m the mental one. Until tomorrow, the pull of sleep calls me. Goodnight.

February 23 – Later

I have had time to slip away from my daily duties for lunch and how good it feels to regain some energy. I reached for the fridge and pulled out a large bottle of water and before I knew it, I swear it was all gone. You never know how much my work takes out of me. I am beginning to worry for some of my patients, they seem so certain that something is in the Facility; I don't know what to do.

I walked to Sector B where some of the patients were also having lunch in the garden; this was also the same Sector that had the 'incident'. I walked up to the 3 that were closest to him and sat; I will try to record the exact conversation;

"Hello guys, I wanted to discuss something if you will give me the honor," I said and they nodded in almost perfect synchronization, "It's about Charlie, your friend Charlie. I want you to tell me what happened, in your own words." It was ironic really, two out of the three of them were mute so I was only talking to one of them really, he stood up offended, "Dr. I don't- WE don't feel comfortable at this present time, talking of such matters, I would appreciate it if you gave us at least till tomorrow for us to properly grieve."

I wanted to respect his wishes, but at the same time I needed to know, I decided to try again, "Please, just something?" At this moment, something so shocking happened, one of the mute patients launched across the table at me, I thought he was grabbing for my throat with his teethe but he wasn't. We were on the concrete ground and I had a fully grown man on top of me; it was the most uncomfortable situation I have been in but I couldn't move. The man put his mouth to my ear and whispered "Dr.! There is Wicked things in this place, WICKED!" At this point, the security pulled him off me and I was free from the mans binding hold. I looked back at the man as the security took him to his private room, he was resisting against them and yelled "WICKED! WICKED THINGS DR!! WICK-" He faded into the distance. I'm beginning to fear the place that is my home.

I'm alone. Nobody else is here with me in this cold, dark room. It's just me, the gray pillowed walls and the bed. I'm alone. Nobody else is her with me. I'M ALONE!
'Of course you are, honey.' Selene said as she leaned against the door.
'Could you please just leave me alone.' Jak begged as he looked up at her. He was sitting on his bed, holding his legs against him as he rocked himself back and forth.
'Who should leave you alone, honey? Aren't you all alone?' Jak cursed at himself for falling in to her trap again. He placed his head on his knees again and continued with his mantra.

Jak had no idea how much time had passed when suddenly he felt someone going through his hair. Startled he looked up and saw Selene before him, looking at him with loving eyes.
'It pains me to see you so.' She said with a warm and inviting voice.
'You're not real, Selene. Please. I can't take it any more.'
'Do you want to be with me?' She asked him, placing his hand under his chin, gently rubbing it with her thumb.
'Yes. I want to be with you more than anything. But I can't!'
'Why not?' She asked him. Jak did not reply. Instead he jumped up out of his bed and walked straight through her, mowing his arms around as he was trying to push her aside. Standing in front of the door he started screaming his longs out, hoping that the guards would hear and come knock him out. He wanted it to stop!
Behind him Selene rematerialized from a cloud, shaking her head.

Eric looked at the cards in his hand and then at the person across from. He was playing poker with another of the patients he had known since he got there. Although he had very little money money to gamble oh he put all his dollars in making his friend have to put all his in to. "Good i have a Full House." Eric thought to himself. He laid the cards out in front of him and said, "Full House beat that Sam". Sam sitting across from him laid his cards down and showed a Royal Flush. "Looks like i win again." said Sam reaching for his new stash of money. Eric could feel the anger welling up inside him, his disorder was about to act up. Suddenly Eric threw his cards and the deck at the wall behind Sam, next he grabbed the table and flung it to the side. "How dare you beat me." said Eric getting in Sam's face. Eric felt two large hands grab his shoulders and pull him away from Sam who sat just staring at Eric sympathetically. "Eric calm down." said one of the two large guards. The other simply nodded to his friends remark. Eric began to struggle and before he could break free both had grabbed his arms and where pulling him away towards his room. He was being carried through the halls until they set him in his room and quickly left the room where they then locked it and Eric was left alone. It only took a few minutes until he could calm down and be a sweet gentle person who would never hurt a fly.

It was quiet. That was good. Very good. So good of them to procure a copy of The Silmarillion for him. Ah, Tolkien... where would the world be without you...

Julian sat in a corner of the Garden of Sector B, yes... It was fairly quiet. Mental patients weren't very talkative... at least not the ones allowed in the garden... while talking. He noticed a man whose name he had forgotten, Cristopher or Aberham, something of that kind, jumping on the Doctor. Yes, it was indeed torture knowing that at any moment a schizophrenic could think you were a monster, or a trampoline, and end up killing you. Lucky Julian for getting off so easy in the mental department... Aberchris wasn't as important as Morgoth, however... so perhaps continuing would be best? Yes, it was imperitive he finish this book in time for The Origin of Species... Why was he on such a tight schedule? Because he was given the books due to being a patient, and when he finally left he'd have to be finished them in case he couldn't find copies outside... "Amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing writer..." He muttered to himself. "Will Darwin top it? I do indeed wonder..." He began to tap on the ground, his fingers moving to some unknown tune...

Edgar was in the play room again almost like everyday for the past 5 years."Poor Erik" Edgar said as the guy was carried away by two of the guards. Edgar had a somewhat friendship with Erik just for the fact he could get some interesting stories out of him. Walking to the window Edgar watched as a doctor wasd takled by another patience one of Charlies friends a mute if Edgar remembered right. It was only a day ago since Charlie was killed and since then it wasd even harder for Edgar to get sleep. Actually the truth was edgar hadbt slep for five days now he never did get much sleep.

"Wonder if todays going to bring anything new ow" Edgar wince as he steped right on to a bright red object it was a light and apparently a new one. Looking at it Edgar assumbed it was a guards because it had a name on it.

February 23 – Night

I have been informed of something terrible; the man for whom jumped on me and warned me of something wicked, has passed away. Not passed, he committed suicide! Is this not the same thing that had happened to Charlie? I shall try to right down the exact moment, if I can remember correctly;
I was walking away from Sector B, about to finish my days work and leave the facility when one of the guards asked me to come quick. We ran toward the holding area and to that mans room, he was dead and there was blood all over the floor, on the walls and on the ceiling. I didn’t even want to know what happened, let alone how. I couldn’t bring myself to look at the corpse for longer than a couple of seconds and when I did the smell of blood crept up through my airways and straight to my gag reflex, I ran around the corner to the small staff room and threw up in the sink. I sat and massaged my forehead for I felt a migraine coming.

I summed up the courage and walked back outside, patients were starting to get suspicious and started coming out of there room, does that mean they didn’t have any clue what was happening? Could something this bad happen in complete silence? There was no logic. He turned to the security guard, “We need to hide this from the patients, I don’t need them seeing this when only this morning we found Charlie dead. We must leave the body and tend to it tomorrow when all the patients are in the Garden.”
“We can’t leave this body here over night Dr. I have to call it in.”
“NO!” I shut the door and locked it, “I’ll call them myself and arrange it.” But I didn’t and still haven’t. I’ll do it in the morning.

I will record the deaths in my journal;
Day 1- Charlie Dame, Aberham Black.

Hartley stepped up to Jak and handed him a rifle. Confused, Jak took the rifle in his hands and felt it's cold, metal weigh down on him. As strange as this sensation was, he still felt as if it was an extension of his being. As he looked around, Jak found himself in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by thick trees and many of shrubs.
A gunshot echoed through the open area in which they stood. Hartley could only smile at this, not acknowledging further. But for Jak it's sound ripped through his being and in to his soul. Looking to where the sound came from, he saw Yasuchi reloading his rifle.
'Come on, we got em cornered!' Jak suddenly felt a rush of adrenaline course through his veins. He followed his partners to where Yasuchi had pointed at and found themselves reaching a brick wall. Jak couldn't help but think he had seen it before. Standing against the wall were several people he identified as being patients in The Cage. One of them had his back towards the three hunters. On his left and right were two corpses. Jak knew them as Charlie Dame and Aberham Black.
'Turn around!'

Bam. Bam. Bam. Three times the sound of thunder reached their ears. It seemed to have snapped Jak from whatever trance he was in as he came to realize he was in a dream. The same dream he had been in for a whole week. And never before had he gotten past the thunder.
'Turn around!' Jak screamed, wanting this madness to end before he woke up. The person reached up his hands and turned around. Stunned, Jak dropped his rifle and wanted nothing more than to wake. For the person was nobody other than himself.
Turning for Hartley, Jak saw that he was gone. And in his place was a mirror, in which Jak could see his reflection. He was Selene.

Opening his eyes, bathing in sweat and out of breath, Jak saw Selene bending over him with a mischievous smile. Jak wanted to question her about what this was all about, but with the blink of an eye she was gone.

There is one dream that is quite known throughout the world. It is the dream of where one runs and runs and yet can't escape. The person not moving from the very spot. Some people do not experience this dream yet others, others like Esrarael, this dream continues not only through her dreams but even within the times of which the doctors called her 'awake'. She was not awake though, at least not in her eyes. Her life was seen through closed doors, through glass windows. Each second was just another part of the endless game of which her life was played. Their words just silent echoes. They had said many things but the doctor's words, his analysis were the words that echoed within the soft silence within her head.

Disorder: Night Terrors, Anxiety, Depression and Delusions...

Looking through her glassy eyes, she sat staring at the wall. She did not know how long time had passed but truly, she had been sitting their within the lobby for at least twenty-two hours. She did not realise shut things any more. She did not realise anything but yet kept staring at her hands that she palced within her lap. The sound of her breathing the only sound which escaped her lips...not even noticing the concerned stares that the doctor's had given when passing her by. No one understood...no, no one saw the world like she...

"...Dammit..."

Jake sat on his bed, a rubiks cube in his hands. The colors were nowhere near fixed. But he'd get it! Eventually. He moved the colors around some more. Shit! Still not done. He began to get mad at the cube. He tried it four more times. Then he lost it. He threw the child's toy at the wall. It shattered into pieces on impact.

Jake immediately gasped, and ran to it's side, tears welling up. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to, really, I didn't.' He took the pieces into his arms, and cried silently in his room over his broken friend.

OOC- Short post is short.

Eric was lying in his bedding staring up at the ceiling feeling rather depressed. Suddenly something caught his eye. Eric sat bolt up right in his bed and looked at the door. A shadow passed his door. He felt suddenly really curious, so he got up and went to investigate. He opened the door to his room and stepped out into the hallway. Ahead of him was another door, and down each side of him on both sides of the walls where doors leading other rooms. A shadow type figure caught his eye again this time traveling down the hall where it then turned left at the hallway intersection. Eric walked fast towards where he saw it move. Eric turned onto the hallway and saw it again turn a corner down another hallway. Eric now getting upset that he couldnt catch up to it, was starting to curse loudly. Suddenly he saw it it slipped into a room at the end of the hall. Eric burst into a run and reached the door in seconds. When he grabbed for the handle it felt ice cold to the touch. "Thud" a noise came from inside the room. Eric opened the door and saw a horrible sight. The room smelled of smoke and there was a scorch mark on the wall in the shape of a person. On the floor laid a man burned to a crisp and starting to bleed from his head. Eric gasped, it was Sam. Sorrow and fear welled up inside Eric. "Help, someone help." he began to scream running out into the hall.

Words echoed within her head but she didn't trult listen. She felt their hands grab her wrists. She did not struggle for what was the point. Her life wasn't in her hands anymore...She stared at them with her clear eyes. A emotionless face looking at their hopeful yet sympathetic eyes. She saw the nurses lips move, calming words obviously coming from her lips but she did not hear nor did she truly care. Esrarael just let them guide her to wherever they wanted her to be next. Like a puppet on a string. They controlled her, if she defied them , punishment would come. Something she had never truly liked. It was not long till they came to a door and with that very gesture, she knew what was happening. She was being moved. Once again. But this time to a cabin without females. Esrarael knew why. The males could perhaps restrain her. They had already placed her within every female room and with every night that passed, another had been injured...

She watched as the doctor knocked upon the door. Esrarael's face perhaps, if her true self could of been seen, slightly confused and yet amused but even so, the same emotionless eyes stared at the door. Waiting in silence.

Jake gathered up the pieces. He sat on the floor, pushing the colored pieces around on the dirty floor. He looked around. He had no roommate at the time, sadly. He got so lonely sometimes. Except when those pretty voices come to his room. They weren't in his head though, they were in his room. Anyways, he pushed the pieces together. All the colors were neatly placed in piles according to colors. So pretty!

Knock knock knock

Jake spun around in fear. Were they coming to take him away again? So many, many needles. Too many. He shook in fear, and backed up against his bed. He swallowed loudly, hoping that he was imagining the knocking. Then it came again, louder this time. They were getting mad. It hurt more when they were. In fear, Jake walked upto the door, and slowly creaked it open. In front of him were a number of people, holding a girl that appeared drugged. She was cute too.

Jake looked up at the doctor, fear in his eyes. His voice slightly cracking, he asked, "Um... Can I help you?" A smile appeared on the doctor's face, but it looked out of place and forced. The men walked in, and put the girl on the bed opposite Jake's. "No worries son. Just a new roommate." were the doctor's supposed 'comforting' words to him. And as soon as they came, they left, leaving the girl in the room. Great.

Being placed upon the bed, she stared at the floor silently...she had not looked at her roommate. She perfered not to. In her eyes he was just another boy inside this hell. Yet she didn't think that she was like any others. No, they didn't understand. No one understood. No one...

Perhaps you should speak to him...first impressions are important you know...

Silence.

How long do you think I can hide? Just let me speak...

No...thats what got us into this mess....

Staring slightly upwards. She only saw his clothes...A sigh escaped Esrarael's lips. Her body turned slightly, now staring at the remains of the rubix cube. Her voice was almost silent, quite soft.

February 24 – 2:45am

I woke up from a dream, it was one of those dreams that you actually believed even after waking but I soon noticed that I was back in my room, back in my reality that seemed so haunted. I felt like so many bad things had happened over a long period of time, but so many bad things have happened but over a period of a couple of hours. Never ever in my clinic have I lost a life and today; two lives have been lost and both so violent.

For those who are reading, in case fate has doomed me to fail and you do need to read this for evidence, I live above the clinic in a large room with a bed. There is a small study in which I complete most my paper work out of clinic hours and small room that holds a toilet and other normal necessities. In the corner of my eyes, I saw a shadowed figure move. I got up from my bed and put on my dressing gown that was on the desk. I walked with small footsteps toward my door and opened it and looked out, what I saw was so real that it couldn’t have been real. If that makes any sense, let me tell you;

When I opened the door, I was in the clinic, a large hall filled with doors. Normal? No! The clinic was downstairs and not at all attached to my room, I was scared, so scared. It was empty, to empty and quite (something not very common in the facility). Then, the shadowed figure caught my eyes again and a ran thing time toward a door that I swore I heard it go into. When I touched the handle, it was freezing cold, I almost pulled away. I put my ear up to the door, to see if I could here something “THUD” I heard from inside. I opened the door quickly and looked…

There stood myself, staring me blank in the eyes. I didn’t know what to do, “Who are you?!” And the figure walked up to me and laughed, “I’m you Dr.” I fell to the floor and fainted.

That’s all I remember but I woke up in my bed, I’m still confused to if this was a dream or not. I will keep this to myself, for everyone’s sake.

Deaths;
Day 1- Charlie Dame, Aberham Black.
Day 2 - Nil

Jake slowly made his way to his bed. He sat on the edge, and stared at her. She wasn't that bad looking at all. He ran his eyes down her body, and then back upto her delicate face. Her soft white hair draped over her lonely eyes. She simply stared into the floor. She almost looked sad, but that was probably just the drugs. But you never really know in here.

"Let me guess....your Bipolar...you know, its quite easy if you are in a calm demeanor..."

Jake started to say something, but stopped himself. How the hell did she know? Was she like, psychic or something? Or maybe he was just too obvious. Yeah, that was it, too obvious. HAD to be it. Psychics aren't real, are they? Or maybe the doctors made her this way? Was he really in some kind of secret lab undergoing human experiments?!?

After his slight moment of paranoia, Jake shook his head slightly to clear his thoughts. He stood up, and walked closer to the girl. He didn't have any shoes, so his stride was almost silent. He walked straight upto her, and leaned over so that he was in their line of sight. They were close to each other, almost touching. She smelled good. And then, Jake turned his head slightly, asking a simple question. "Is it the drugs, or are you just emo?"
