Rep Power: 2 ![]() Level: 14 EXP: | ![]() God's Vault The world has been changing, growing, evolving. The age of exploration has opened new roads to man kind to travel. By way of the sea, man roams now, seeking the riches of far off lands. But the world has also grown more dangerous. Outlaws and bandits litter the land, while pirates comb the seas, hoping to plunder their share of treasure and wealth. Rumors have been traveling across the sea like waves. Rumors of a single great treasure that is said to be hidden far to the east. It's a treasure of such great value, that it could belong to God himself, and thus has been given the title, "God's Vault." The storm raged with the ferocity of the Heavens themselves, beating titanic waves against the ship dubbed "Highwind", an odd ship, due to the fact that it was a large naval vessel, yet manned be single person: Captain John Seager, a pirate who had (barely) managed to escape execution at the hands of the Spanish. He had been captured during a raid on the Florida Territory, which had claimed the life of his crew, and rather large portion of his own skin. By all rights, he should've been dead as well, executed after his crew. But it seemed that fate had other plans for him. The night he was to be hung, another crew of pirates had attacked, and had been kind enough to fire a canon ball through his cell wall. Jumping nearly 100 feet down into the sea, he swam to the docks, and in the confusion, made off with a ship. Now, he made his way north, to the British territory in Virginia His bandages soaked by the downpour, he had struggled with every last bit of energy to maintain course through the storm. "This would be so much easier if I had crew," he said to himself. "I should've gathered some other prisoners to join be, but by-gones shall be by-gones." His reason for heading north in the first place was so that he could gather a crew, provided that Highwind held herself together. The next wave knocked him off his feet. "Just my luck," he said to himself, as he got back up. "Come on old girl," he said to the ship, "don't give out on me now." Last edited by Chromatic; March 24th, 2009 at 08:58 AM. |
