Default Erde ~ The Second Age RP

The dark walls loomed over his head as he stepped along the corridors, his velvet soft black robes making less sound than the dead that were buried somewhere in the dark valley that surrounded this unholy city.

Ironically named, Angru Thailios was. The "City of Light", dead near the center of the Valley of Shadow, where the Lords of Oblivion, along with the Temptress, opened the Portal to the Abyss, thus beginning the onset of the Twilight Wars.

Renegades, all eight of them. Selene Katira, however, was hellspawn. Her existence upon Erde was the last curse of the NightLord, ere the Maker locked him away with his holier-than-thou shackles.

After all, Selene was fond of Raaquis du Sade. Then he scorned her, and she burned the Sadist's Mark into his skin.

Thus I learned my way in playing this game of thrones.

Ezekeal Barzlon merely sighed silently, the blood-red ruby on his ring glinting off of the blue-flamed torches that hung from the obsidian walls.

His spellbook in one hand, and spell components in the satchel that hung from his shoulder. He had no need of a weapon here, save unless the Lord of Shadows chose to try to assassinate him.

Let him try. It's better than letting me have my way, or he's just doing as he's told. Who truly knows?

The Architect hit the end of the hallway, and came to a dark wooden door on his right, with a statue of a robed wizard on his left.

He unveiled a strange silver key and fitted it into the lock of the strangely carved, intricately made door, and turned. It made a resounding click, and he turned the handle of the doorknob, and entered the room.

This was where he was going to teach a handful of Giras Ralon'quel's students, from all the way across the World.

He sent them to me because he knows only I can teach them. The Eternal Sage knows I am one of the few Grey Robes left of our magius-society. And he knows we trust each other.

They would come in due time, coming from the Tower of the Moon, and teleporting to Angru Thailios. From there they would walk to the Citadel of Night, and enter its gates, and walk the mazes of corridors and stairwells, until at last coming to this room.

From their studies here, they would be allowed to reach their full potential under the tutelage of the Sadist. That, and perhaps learn a few lessons from the Lord of Shadows, should Zhark Orodruin choose to watch their learning and decide to comment.

Who cares anyway. The man was given immortality by the Maker, then cursed by the Lords of Light. He was taught by Kal'zhirrak when Zhark Orodruin visited Oblivion and the Wall of Holding, and then he learned the remainder from me.

Such is a sadist's life.

"One more time, Jenifer!" Master Keriann Holion yelled to her trainee who was performing a powerful spell of light. They were on a beach. Sunsetting behind them.

"Got it!" Jenifer Elcanor yelled back. She was in the water performing a powerful light spell. She stood on a rock. She swung her staff in the air. Her staff threw a lightray towards a boulder shattering it.

"That was great!! Way to go Jenifer!" Master Keriann yelled from the beach to her trainee. Jenifer looked back. She was happy. She jumped into the air and torwards the beach. She landed on the beach. She cowed to her mater.

"Thank you so much for the training today Master Keriann." Jenifer said thanking her master. The young elf girl climbed onto her masters back. The dragon roared and took off, Jenifer holding on. They were in the sky. The wind blowing through Jenifer's hair. She liked that. She looked down and could see the secret location of there base, and her home. The home to most if not all the Serlan'gals. The dragon dived down. It then slowed and landed. Jenifer jumped off as the dragon turned back into the human form and Jenifer's master. They walked into the secret base. Going down and down. Master Keriann then stopped at her floor.

"Alright Jenifer, I'll see you tomorow after breakfast

"Your welcome, so come on we need to head back." Master Keriann said. The human looking person turned into a dragon.

"Alright Jenifer, I'll see you tomorow after breakfast. Be ready." Master Keriann said. Jenifer knodded. Se continued down. She continued to where all the younger girls were at. Jenifer had a normal family but was brought here instead. Ever since she was 5 she grew up here. Living here learning the arts of light magic. She came to the her floor. She walked down the hall. She came to a big wooden door. Jenifer's name was pronted on it. Jenifer out of her white cloak pocket got out a white silver key. She inserted it in the lock. The door opened. The room wasn't anything much. On the back wall was a plain brick wall, two torches were there. They were burning blue. Her bed coming out of the center of the back wall. The left wall was a brick wall but designed diffrent to work like a book shelf. It was loaded with many books that she collected since she was five. On the other wall was a chest filled with her cloths and another book shelf this one not filled yet. I silver coat rack was also here. Jenifer had a few white robes hanging on the coatrack. Jenifer closed the door. She took off her cloak and hung it up. She slipped her shoes off. She fell back on her bed. She looked up at the ceiling. A brick wall was seen.

"Mite..." Jenifer mumbled. The light went out though.

Lexa groaned. She'd gotten a cold from someone a couple days ago. Which was odd, considering she almost never talked to anyone but a few selected family members and a friend or two she actually did have. None-the-less, her mother insisted that she go outside for a bit because somehow that was supposed to help. She didn't understand why, but her mother was always odd in that way.

Still she decided to go despite her disbeliefs on the matter. If going out of the house for just a little while would make her mother happy, then why not? It's not like anything bad was going to happen to her. She was -in a matter of speaking- invisible. No one would bother her unless they felt the need to call her a mute, or a freak with pink hair. Whichever they felt like at that particular moment considering that her peers in Angru Thalios could never think up any new insults.

This made her laugh. Mainly because she was home-schooled and they were taught at a school and her level of intelligence far exceeded theirs.

Lexa glanced around her small, quiet room from her twin-sized bed with pink and purple sheets for a moment. Her kitten's cries for attention reverberating off the pale yellow walls.

Sighing, she grabbed her sketch book out of her wooden oak desk -that her father had very proudly finished for her just awhile ago- and left her bedroom leaving her kitten inside to find it's own form of entertainment. Sadly, that most likely consisted of knocking everything on her oak shelves, desk and night table.

"I'm going." She murmured grabbing her dark green coat off a rack hanging in her parent's house in the hardwood floor hallway beside the door. She saw her mother nod from the living room and left.

Once outside she slipped her arms into her jacket and closed the buttons until they reached right underneath her bosom.

A long time before she actually got up, outside and left her house she had decided if she had to leave then she might as well have left to go draw yet another landscape. There was nothing better to do outside. It's not like she really had any friends to go hang out with.

"Hey! It's the pink haired mute girl!" One of her not so friendly peers called alerting everyone of her immediate presence. She sighed inwardly and rolled her eyes. There were people with blue hair and yet they didn't torment them because of how they were born.

Lexa squeaked as she was shoved to the ground from behind by some random moron. Apparently her theory about how no one would bother her was completely and totally wrong.

"Where you have you been mute girl? We know you can talk." The 'random moron,' as dubbed by Lexa, spoke. Questioning her like he actually deserved an answer.

Pfft. As if. She scoffed in her head, grabbing her sketch book and getting up only to find a circular crowd of people around her. All of course were her age, or near it.

Lexa breathed in deeply; finding her center so she wouldn't have the urge to find someway to kill all of the morons who thought by cornering her she would actually talk to them. After over ten years of them never hearing her utter a word no matter what they did to her you'd think they'd get a hint, but whomever their teacher was obviously was slacking on the job.

She darted forward and propelled through the crowd of teenagers knocking them down if they were stupid enough not to move out of the way and ran down the gloomy streets until she was inside the forest where they wouldn't dare follow her.

Even though she also knew the dangers of being alone in a forest with no form of a weapon other than a dulled down pencil tip that would be as effective as trying to beat someone with a feather. She figured she might as well find something to draw while inside of the forest's foreboding scenery.

Lexa stepped through the forest cautiously as she reached a small plain and sat down at the trunk of a tree where she could draw in a somewhat comfortable position.

OOC: Uggh, rather sucky first post.

A lone figure emerged from the forest, dressed in the black robes of a sarlen'gal. From within his pulled up hood, one could see striking cold blue vision, yet it seemed twisted, warmed by the fires of insanity.

His step was graceful, yet had a slight limp to it, though it wasn't noticed, by him or any that knew him. Silver runes were stitched into the sleeves of his robes, the designs silver dragons, with leering, ruby eyes.

Black hair hung lank from his brow, streaked with gray about his temples, yet he did not seem as one that had aged. His fingernails were filthy, dirt and other, unknown organisms, making it seem like a growth was forming underneath them.

On his right index finger was a silver ring, with a fire opal set into it, a circle of runes surrounding it. He bore no weapon; his magic alone served his needs.

"Illzharst, tangyar urhzien."

Thus the illusion crafted over his form, restoring him to the comely, handsome young man he had once been, yet the eyes still raged with insanity, and the mind fought wars with normality.

Then the man saw the young woman sketching in her sketchbook the scenery, and with elven-like grace, sat down on a tree trunk nearby the stranger.

He bowed, out of courtesy, and introduced himself.

"My name is Ez'airen Laerhun, merely a simple mage on his way to learn magic in Angru Thailios. I have lost my way, and my friends. I was wondering if you would know the way, yes? After all, the night is dark and full of terrors, is it not, my lady?" the man said, with a flash of beautiful white teeth, his smile worth a thousand more smiles to come..

..Souls, you mean.

Oh great. Yet another jackass hitting on me. Fun, fun, fun. Don't they ever get a hint? Lexa rolled her eyes continuing on with her drawing paying no attention at all to the man who dared to think she would actually be tricked by his attempts at charming her over. Maybe if she was a two-bit whore like every other girl in Angru Thailios. Their cloths were somehow even smaller than her own which, she had to admit, was a hard task to beat.

Soaring through the air, the wind passing by his wings. Tenma flew towards the city known as Angru Thailios, with the intentions of nothing more but visiting his friend Lexa. Wonder if the men have stopped bugging her yet... he wondered, smiling at some previous times he's seen her flip at guys who just couldn't get a clue.

With the city in sight, he changed his angle, and flew straight down towards the ground at the dark forest right before the town. At top speed, he reached the treetops in no time, bring his wings in to avoid whacking into any tree branches. He dodged the large branches gallantly, without breaking a sweat, and soon enough, he touched the mixture of dirt, grass, and moss without a scratch on him.

"Too easy," he exhaled, soon clapping his hands and pressing them to his chest. A bright blue and white light emitted, engulfing his entire being, soon to disappear, and behold his human state. His crimson red, scaled skin had become a scale armor, with loose black pants, and hard-leather black boots. His sword remained unchanged, still in its sheath on his back.

He shook his head to shake leaves out of his hair that blew in from the gust of the transformation. Among opening his eyes, he stared straight in the direction of Angru Thailios, and removed his sword from his back.

"Time to visit my old friend," he said, and set the sword to rest on his shoulder, as he walked casually through the woods towards the city.

after struggling for sometime she got out of bed. She went and opened her door. Everyone was a sleep, only the small creatures on nightguard were up. Jenny decided to go visit the cuty. She got changed into normal clothing. She grabbed a bag. She folded ip a cloak into the bag. She swung the bag up over her shoulder. She grabbed her staff and ran down the hall as quickly and quitely as she coould. She made it oustside. She was safe.

She was in the woods deep in. The base was very well hidden. She ran through the forest. She came to an open plain. She saw a man and girl on the other side. She ran accross the feild to see who it was. She made her staff small and stuck it in her bag. She came close to the end of the plain to where they were.

"Hey you two, you shouldn't really be here." Jenny said out of breathe. They were both human. She looked down and saw the drawing she was drawing.

"Oh wow that's beutiful! Oh by the way how you get your hair that way? I love it! Can you teach me?" Jenny asked. She had two favorite colors, blue and pink. The pink hair looked cool though.

OOC: SHE....

IC: "Her hair is naturally like that, little Elven girl," Tenma had come up from behind the small crowd. He had made haste of any monsters, mostly minor giant bugs and birds that had decided attempting to make a meal out of him. The blade he carried was sheathed once more, and he crossed his arms, looking down at Lexa.

"What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be back home in the city?" he inquired, concerned. He then looked back up and saw the other man. Noticing two strangers around his long-time friend, he finally asked, "And just who are you two, anyway?"

"Oh, I'm Jenifer. I was running through the woods. Just working out. I saw these two and wondering what they were doing here." Jenny said. She decided to be proper and tell her full name not nickname.

"Your hair is really cool, your also a great artist." Jenny said to the girl.

"I was trying to get away from a very large crowd of morons and instead I got hit on by this dude who apparently thinks that he can get any girl he wants if he flashes a smile and asks them to help him with something, and she, well, she popped up and told me that I shouldn't be here even though I already knew that much."

"I mean, come on, I have no magical defense or any martial arts skills so as to why I couldn't figure that out on my own I have no clue, but apparently I'm automatically a moron because I have blonde hair." Lexa answered Ken paying no attention what-so-ever to the Jenifer or Ez'airen Laerhun.

"Oh yeah, the city's like two steps away also. It's not like I'm that far into the woods. Geez. You're such a worry wart."

She stuck her tongue out at him signaling that she was done with her little speech and closed her sketchbook to hide the drawing she was finishing up before she was interrupted by the two strangers that she had no intention of having any contact with. After the mob of people, but getting hit on and then dealing with someone peering over her shoulder as she drew was far more then she was willing to put up with.

OOC: Sorry, had to edit. Too many grammar/spelling errors. @_@ I'm done now, btw.

"Well I guess I'll finish running. I'll see ya later maybe. Oh and yeah I would head out of the woods, any bad creatures such as werewolves come out at about this time." Jenny said to the some what rude girl, the nice guy, and the yet strange other guy. She ran past them out into the city. She ran to tthe shops. They were still open she was glad of that. She walked in. People looked at her because it was rare to have elves at this town. She picked out a few outfits. She tried them on. She bought a total of 4 outfits. She then walked out of the store. She saw people in the store looking out at her leaving. She sighed. She continued down the street.

After buying 6 outfits, 5 necklaces, 6 bracelets, and a watch she headed back to the woods. Right now it would be dangerous. It was night. She walked into the woods some. She took out her staff and enlarged it. She thhrew on her cloak and walked through the woods keeping an eye out for any bad creatures.

Three days ago...

"Angru Thailios is our destination. What we seek will be found only there. Good luck, brother."

- Lennox Ecripeline, letter # 1.

Now...

The bar was full of life. An older looking man at the far right of the bar laughed hysterically at his own jokes while waving his hand frantically in front of his listeners. He told stories of dragons, Elves, demons, and angels. His voice seemed full of uneasiness as he spread his lies. At the middle of the bar a young woman sat up right, peering over the bar top and over at the selection of wines and drinks. One caught her attention and she pointed at it, biting her lip as if afraid that the bartender would deny her request. First she sipped at the beverage once she had received it, but with a small glance from her left to her right, she took all of it in with one swallow. Her expression afterward was that of relaxation; as if her dark world had just seen the sun for the first time in a thousand ages.

Bars were the place to go for silence, yet at the same time, for noisy drunkard's fake stories, told in a very loud and obnoxious manner; for most of men, that was. For one man, it was business. Business and business only, with a tad of sketchy behavior, and a drop of trickery. This man sat by himself at the far end of the bar, on the right side, drinking only a glass of water with ice. His hand reached for the glass and he took another sip, eyeing the story-telling drunkard for a moment. His hood provided him with a very inconspicuous shadowed face, so he felt free to look at whom ever he pleased to look at.

The doors at the front of the bar swung open and a tall, blond man walked up to the bar and took a sat by the hooded man. He opened his mouth to throw out his proposal, but the other man interrupted him abruptly.

"The parcel has been delivered?" he asked.

"Yesterday," the blond man replied, subtly.

At this, the hooded man nodded and rose from his seat. Throwing a coin on the bar, he looked away from the blond man and toward the entrance/exit of the bar.

"Angru Thailios is a day's walk," murmured Lennox, the blond man.

"I'll be there, brother," whispered Mordecai, the hooded man.

Mordecai Royland Ammecrine left the bar without a sound, heading for Angru Thailios. The next day would be spent there, looking for what he was seeking; looking for him.

His cold gaze wandering on the elven witch Jenny, and they eventually found themselves looking at the blonde-pink haired girl's sketchbook.

"You know, I think I could help you with that..drawing of yours." Ez'airen said, muttering words of magic, unintelligible to everyone except himself. The sketchbook and pencils then glowed a deep red, which faded within seconds.

"I have some...urgent business. Won't be long, for I must still meet with my teacher in the Citadel of Night, here in Angru Thailios." Laerhun said, the words of teleportation forming in his mind.

Then he vanished, appearing silently, around fifty yards behind the elf witch, following her straight back to where she was headed.

A word of magic, and his robes turned pure white, and he folded his arms into the sleeves of his robes. Ez'airen then sat down amongst the other white robes, and accepted the bowl of soup he was given, while Jenny disappeared from his vision.

"Foros arys Lordaers Ezechel."

Then every single serlan'gal in the room looked straight at him, including others from outside it.

"Your kind aren't allowed here, sarlen'gal!" shouted a woman in white, and a grey robe merely walked off, back to his business.

"For the Lord of Night, my lady in white, or did you not pay attention in your Histories of Magic classes? Who else would utter that other than me, you blind fool?"

Then the white robes turned to black, but the illusion of the young man remained.

"I think you might know who I am, now that I have nearly given you the answer, you pathetic mage." Kal'zhirrak said, his cold blue eyes gleaming with a crazed light, as he cast lightining bolts at his victims. Their shields were broken if the smart ones tried to deflect it. One or two blazed into a blue fireball.

Then came his most powerful spell.

No words were uttered; it was all done within his mind, as he had learned when the Book of Night had been stolen from Giras Ralon'quel for his quick study.

The remaining serlan'gal and solun'gal within the room dropped dead. Those in the halls were running down to warn the others to hide, he let them go.

Better to let the flame burn into the forest fire than to snuff it out.

He left, the soup still untouched, and appeared in the Cavern of Oblivion deep in the catacombs beneath the Citadel of Night.

Infront of him, upon the Throne of Oblivion, sat Zhark Orodruin. The deep, fiery blue vision looked at him with a cold, discerning look.

The three, parallel scars that ran from the tip of where his right ear met his head, and ran down to the corner of the right side of his lips, twisted as he grinned.

"Return, before anyone notices. Otherwise the Seven will inquire." the Dark Lord spoke, his voice dark and commanding, though his lips never moved.

"As you say, Warden of Night." Kal'zhirrak said, grinning his cold smile, stepping through the portal as the Door to Oblivion opened for him.

"Lordaers oe Oblivae."

A man, clad in black leather, a wide-brimmed black hat shadowing his face, watched the hooded man leave the tavern. Leaning against the bar was a strange-looking weapon. The shaft was black, nearly six feet long, with a leather grip; the blade had a silvery sheen, with runes etched along the edges, two feet long.

"Angru Thailios might be a day's ride, but I know a quicker way." the stranger grinned, thumbing the brim of his hat slightly in the hooded man's direction.

"I'm headed there as well. Meeting an old friend of mine. Then I'm off to Vincarya, to see about some army forming or whatnot. Hoping to see what happens, eh?" the cheerful figure said, setting a small stack of golden coins onto the bar.

"A two rounds of your finest ale on me, for everyone that comes in." he said, picking up his sword-staff.

"A bet that I can beat you to Angru Thailios, Mordecai Royland Ammecrine." the stranger muttered to the hooded figure, his dark brown eyes gleaming with a warm blaze.

Then he vanished in a column of light, with not a trace to be seen, save mere motes of golden dust blowing away in the breeze.

"That was weird. . ." Lexa muttered. "My drawing is fine anyways. Crack addict. It doesn't need fixing."

It's scary out here, dont’cha think?

"Huh?!" She yelled looking around. "There wasn't another girl out here with us, was there? . . .urgh."

Lexa glanced at the surroundings again. There wasn't a girl there. The only girl around was her. It didn't make sense. How'd she hear that feminine voice? She sighed and gripped her sketchbook tighter in her left and started running away back toward the city. The voice did seem rather distant, so maybe it was there, but why did it say 'out here' then?

The mutters of the students under him were music to his magic-sensitive ears. His chilling vision looked into the small mass of black and grey robes, and his voice broke the incantations, and shattered the spell-weavings.

"It is time for you to go to your rooms. They are on the floor above, made in the same design as those in the Tower of the Moon, for your own aid. I must go to my duties with the Lord of this castle." Ezekeal Barzlon said, his black robes rustling about him as he was the first out of the room, allowing the young mages time, at their leisure, to pack up their things and find their rooms.

As he strode down the corridor, to the Throne Room, a grey figure bumped into him, and an indigo-eyed, brown-haired man, around Ezekeal's age, grinned.

"Xoran Grey. I thought not that you would be here, otherwise I would have informed the Dark Lord that you have returned from the Vincaryan Empire, yes?" the Architect said, continuing to his destination, while the Grey Knight began to fill him in on the events that had occured, yet something stopped Barzlon from opening the doors.

That surge of magic..so powerful..not unlike....

It cannot be..that fool..

The Dark Lord cannot be trusted. It's time to pay a visit to my old friend, soon, before things go awry.

Only Kal'zhirrak would be so bold as to wield magic in a place he knew was monitored by one more powerful than him..or maybe he didn't care..or he doesn't know the wards I placed in the Valley of Shadow ere I entered this accursed place..

Nevertheless, I know Zhark Orodruin is somewhere in this plot.

And if he started it, then I will finish it.

Ezekeal turned, bid Xoran Grey farewell, and made for the city of Angru Thailios. His footsteps were heard on the cobblestone streets as he walked by the various shops and homes.
