Exclamation Survival Instinct

It was nearing evening, as the sun was right above the horizon. Cross was looking out his window in his huge mansion as the scarlet rays were hitting his face. In about an hour, it'll be fully night and the monsters will crawl out of their hiding spots and hunt the remaining humans. He closed the curtains and to the side of the window was a sliding caged bar. He covered the window with the cage and locked it in place. He went around the house and barricaded all the windows. He looked at the clock and it was around eight o'clock.

He went to the basement to his deceased father's gun collection and took out the AK-47. It was strapped around his shoulders to his back. He walked up to a closet and took out a few hand made gernades he created and put them in his pocket. He went back upstairs and dimmed all the lights.

A howl of a zombie cried throughout the air and it sent shivers down Cross's back. He hated these monsters that killed his whole family and friends. Tonight is going to be another long night, a night where he'll be left to defend himself and grasp on to his life.

He went up stairs and went to his dead sister's room. It was now a look out spot in the house, the only room where you can see every direction. The walls of the room is made out of thick bullet proof glass about a foot and a half thick. On the outside you can't see anything, but from the inside it is like ordinary glass. There are four telescopes pointing to the north, west, east, and south. And a huge sniper rifle his father custom made.

He sat on a seat and just waited...

Ale watched as the final hour of sunlight was almost gone in a few minutes they would come out like they always did. Ale had raided a nearby gas station and had restocked his supplies though most of it was useless.

"Wine, Fruit, Apple Cider, Carrots, other Vege type foods" Ale said in a low voice.

"Nothing in the meat products this time" Ale said remembering what happen when his dad tried to get meat, the zombies sniffed it and attacked his father 1 minute before night time but it didnt matter to them they had a human with a side order of dead cow.

"So stupid Dad why" Ale said in a angered tone as he hit the glass window holding the pass ball cards.

"He just had to try stupid old man well I guess its show time" Ale said closing the gates to the doors and glass window. as he sat on the chair behind the desk he pulled out his fathers sniper gun

"12 bullets for the SG and 40 bullets for the pistol" he said getting ready for them to come out.

Amanda looked outside. There was little sunlight left in the night. She grabbed her pistol. She had locked up the doors to the chrystler building.
She started to walk up the steps to the top floor. She locked all of the doors that she passed. The zombies would have more trouble getting to the top.
Amanda checked the strapped pistols at her waist and the back of her chest. They were locked and loaded. She frowned. The zombies worried her.
She new that it was time for her to move. It wouldnt be long before the zombies found her. She was afraid that tonight would be the night.
Soon the sun had set. The shadows were extremely scary.

Kyoroj walked through the ransacked 7-Eleven store. There wasn't that much left, the food was stolen by the remaining people, and the walls trashed by the zombies who had been here. Stooping to pick up a leftover Snickers bar, he continued over towards the door.

It was barricaded quite nicely, he thought to himself as he munched on the candy bar. But it wouldn't last. There was next to nothing left over in the store, definitely no food. Only useless piles of playing cards, a lonely deodorant can (Axe), and a few dollar bills. Money was useless now.

He looked out the window at the dying daylight. Zombies had been waiting in front of the building since five days ago, scratching at the tough walls uselessly. But either way, Kyoroj was screwed. No food. Zombies outside. If he left in the day, the zombies would just follow his scent. So he needed a way to distract them and run while they were confused.
As if on cue, the howls and screeches started, and the all too familiar pummeling on the door started. It was time to move. Show time.

His eyes alighted upon the Axe can. He had read somewhere that they were flammible. Interesting...

He grabbed it and ran over to the door, and grabbed one of the few remaining matches in his pocket. Quickly, he pulled away the heavy table and slushie machine that was blocking the door. His adrenaline pumping, he ripped open the door.

The zombies had a brief glimpse of a young Asian boy with black hair in black clothes before the world exploded in fire.

From this carnage, the slight young man suddenly broke through the fire and ran away into the night.

Edward looked out of the building he had taken refuge in. Edward was a level three zombie which meant that he was a vampire. He is unable to stay out during the day light hours so he finds any hide out he can. From where he stood in front of the window he could see all of New York City. Edward had zombies all over New York. There were hardly any humans left, except for a chosen few. These survivors have sought to make things difficult for Edward by resisting. He had just received word that a group of his level one zombies that had been sent to case out a small store were set on fire. Edward smiled as he looked out of the window. He knew that those silly humans would have to try a lot harder than that to kill him.

Edward watched the sun set. Right now he was wearing his black suit. Edward has dark brown skin, red eyes, and sharp fangs. He generally keeps his fangs hidden. Just recently Edward had begun to wear shades. He didn't want the humans to know they were looking at a level three zombie. If they knew they would kill him, or at least they would try. Edward had laughed time and time again as countless pitiful humans attempted to kill him with garlic and a stake. Apparently they had been reading too many horror stories. On more than one occasion Edward had pulled the stake from his chest (which seemingly always misses it's mark) and proceeds to stab the humans killing them with their own stake. Than he would drink their blood and take one of their teeth for his collection. Edward slicked back his hair not feeling like braiding it and put on his necklace of teeth. He had another one that held the blood of his first victim. Such treasures were of value to him. It just so happens that his first victim has now become his most loyal servant.

Edward smiled when his servant walked up to him. His servant was a level two zombie and was already on it's way to becoming a level three. The servant still had a while to wait however.
"Fay, I want you to rally a few level one's and go to the Chrysler Building. It is very well protected and I just know some of those resisters are hiding there. I want you to force your way into that building. I want to find out who's hiding in there." Edward said in a deep cold voice.
Fay just nodded and turned to do what Edward had ordered. Edward beckoned over a few other level two's.
"I want you two to take a few legions of level one's and do the usual rounds on this city. I want to know about how many victims you take out. I expect a full report and it better be a good one."
Those two nodded as well and set off to do as ordered. With a chilling smile on his face, Edward went down stairs and into the basement of the building he had taken residence. There were hundreds of zombies down here of differing levels. This is not the only hide out the vampire posses however. Edward did not keep all of his forces in one place. He has thousands of hide outs all over the state of New York. Edward motioned for a group of forty zombies, ten level two's and thirty level one's, to follow him. The zombies followed Edward outside. Edward and this group had a date with the cemetery and a few un-dead corpses. The zombies that were left behind however had already begun to set out to wreak havoc on New York City, they already knew what their orders were.

Martha dressed in her Komono stands up and streatches. she sleeps during the day so she can be fully aware during the night. her mind flashes to her beloved father and anger surges though her. she bends over and picks up her swords and ties them to her back, she is ready for the zombies to come, and soon she will be ready for the demon that killed her father. she will have her revenge and it will be sweet, oh that level three wont even know what hit him. she moves over to the front of the dojo and pulled on a hidden compartment in on the celing. she had this specially installed and held her food and drinks. if you followed it to the back you get to another compartment, smaller in size that was circular and surrounded by shatter proof glass. she sat down and watched the sun desend though the clouds and wondered what was comming. she snacked on a pop-tart that she picked up on the way to the look out room. "lets go"

Amanda had lasted the first hour of darkness and heard the zombies crys and shreiks throught the hour. She looked out the windows of the fortith floor. It looked as though the zombies were ants. But Amanda knew better. She could hear them. Suddenly she realized that a zombie had entered the chrysler building. She wondered if it would smell her out. A gunshot would certainly alert the other zombies. She began to wonder if it was going to be worth it. Should she run to the top of the building first or should she take on the single zombie? It was a hard question to answer. There were 77 floors in the building. Would the zombie make it up that far in a single night. Would it hide out in the building? There were so many questions amanda had but she knew that she had a small amount of tie to figure out an answer. She decided to stay and fight. She actually decided to go down a few floors. She heard the rumbling of a zombie. Possibly even more than one. Amanda grabbed her pistol tight. She hid behind a corner and began to wait for the zombies to come up from the floor below her.

Ale watched as a few blocks away a explosion broke out it seemed like someone was making a final stand or a distraction not to far away. Looking at his food supplies he could have at least 3 other people with him "Well no point in survivng alone" Ale said checking to see if any Zombies were near by

"! 2 3" Ale said running on three. After a few seconds of running Ale saw a Asian kid at least the age of 18 running his way being chased by two level 2 zombie Taking aim with his sniper gun Alepinned the first one "Come on buddy run run run" Ale yelled at the guy as he aimed at the second one who had just noticed him

"Bam" it went down as fast as the first one. Looking at the other guy as he caught his breath Ale said

"Come on run we dont have time my place is a block away" Ale said grabbing the guy Ale started to run to his place pulling out his pistol Alem turned around to see if they were being followed. The moment they reached his place Ale pushed the guy in and started to lock the doors. After putting the cage lock on he turned around and looked at who he had saved.

"I am guessing your the one who created the Firewok show a bit ago" Ale said pulling out a bottle of water and wine. "Which one its your choice got a good stock of both but becarful of the wine it has a strong taste" Ale said looking throughthe peep hole of the caged door "My names Ale and you would be" Ale asked the guy.

Amanda looked around. The Zombie started to walk up the stairs. Amanda waited. The zombies began to creap around the corners of the room. There were in fact two zombies that had come up. Amand knew that she only had six shots. Would she be able to take out the zombies without switching to another gun? If she needed to switch guns, would she have time? More questions raced through her head. A bead of sweat flowed down her brow down to her cheek. A zombie was coming her way. She didnt have much time. She unlocked the gun. The click echoed. She hadnt expected that. The zombie began to raced forward towards the sound. Amanda began to back up quickly. SHe shot at the oncoming zombie. The zombie hardly stumbled as the bullet peirced its leg. She shot again this time attempting to aim better. The second shot grassed the Zombie's shoulder. Then came the third shot. The bullet shot right through the zombies torso. The Zombie stumbled forward and fell onto the ground. Amanda grabbed another gun. She unlocked it. Her left pistol only had three bullets left. The other zombie started to run at her from behind. She could hear its footsteps and whirled around. With two shots from the left pistol the zombie fell to the ground. Amanda was sweating more than ever. The zombies made her very nervous. Surely other zombies were coming up....

Edward smiled as he looked around the cemetery. His zombies were already digging up corpses or burying new ones. Edward laughed knowing that more of his zombies were already destroying the city and were trying to kill the last remaining survivors. Edward had been thinking ahead and had already sent more than one group to the Chrysler building. It was bothering him because he knew there must be many survivors living inside. Now he would be able to take them out. Even if the zombies couldn't do it all in one night, it wasn't hard to take refuge in the building. Edward walked down the fresh row of corpses that been dug up and infected them. It wasn't hard. Maybe a scratch here or a bite there. By the time he was done he had almost 200 new soldiers.
"All of you go and join your brothers in the city. It's time for me to make my rounds."
Laughing Edward exited the cemetery through the gate and headed down the street. The whole city was almost in ruin. Edward didn't plan to stop until the whole place was in shambles. Edward set off down the street with his hands in his pockets and wearing his shades. At least if one of the survivors saw him they would think he was one of them. With his red eyes hidden no one could even tell he was a vampire.

Kyoroj was panting so hard, he almost didn't hear his savior introducing himself. But he focused hard enough to catch the words, "My names Ale and you would be...?"

Oh. A question. Well that's easy. "I'm Kyoroj" He said as he straightened up. "And yep, I'm that guy who blasted the zombies to Kingdom Come. A few got away though."
He looked around the building. It was a good place, lots of supplies and a weapon or two. But the door seemed poorly barricaded. A lock. That was it, nothing else. Pretty insecure.

He moved over to the door and put his ear on it and listened. "I can still hear them... A few. Here, I'll barricade this door and make sure no zombies get in... is there a second floor? You're pretty handy with the sniper rifle, you could take them down before they even get close."

Kyoroj grabbed a small knife and shoved it in his belt, as well as a small handgun. He probably couldn't use any of them, but it was reassuring. He dragged a table over to the door, and turned to face Ale.
"Do you have any more of that alcohol? I'm thinking we should leave a fiery surprise for any zombies that might find a way in..."

Ale liked Kyoroj he seem like a real thinking type of person which is what Ale needed "Ya theres a whole 2 boxs of the stuff there and so you know that pistols got about 20 shots in it, plusd my 40 pistol shots and 25 Sniper bullets" Ale said explaining the fate they had.

Then hearing Kyoroj comment about his aim with his sniper gun Ale said "Yep before the attack I always practice with this gun but now this gun is only used for killing not practice" Ale said checking to see if anything was near zombie or human.

"Nothing and yes there is a second floor but its only a tunnel to the Chrysler building andthe subways I locked it up incase you know" Ale said reloading his Sniper gun "You know how to us that right" Ale asked.

Cross looked into one of his telescopes and saw that zombies were marching towards a chrystler about seven blocks away from his house. He opened a small hole in the window about 3 feet in diameter and aimed his sniper rifle at the zombies in the chrystler building. He fired a single shot and the bullet flew down the street. With that single bullet about three zombies that were aligned were instantly killed off, their heads exploding. He fired about five more shots and several zombies laid on the ground, either their heads missing or their whole bodies splattered on the floor.

There must be someone there, must save that person! thought Cross. He quickly ran downstairs grabbing, a few more gernades. He got into his father's prized car, the 2005 Bugatti Veryon 16.4. This powerful car can go up from zero to sixty miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds, but Cross tuned it up a bit and improved it by far. Now it reaches that speed in just about two seconds. The garage door slowly opened and Cross sped out of his property. He quickly raced down the street dodging wrecked cars, fallen lamp posts, and scattered trash. He stopped about 50 yards away from the walking zombies and got out.

Some of the zombies turned towards the car and started advancing. Cross took an RPG from the trunk and fired a shot at the zombies. The rocket hit the zombies and the explosion destroyed a lot of them. He tried firing another shot, but nothing came out. "Shit! Forgot to bring more shells!" hissed Cross madly. He got hold of the strapped AK-47 around his shoulders and fired at the zombies. If five zombies died, ten more replaced them. He grabbed a gernade and pulled the pinn and threw it at the legion. The explosion created a narrow path to the building. Cross then took out a smoke gernade and threw it. A large amount of white and gray smoke puffed out of the gernade and Cross ran towards the building, jumping at the window and crashing in.

He looked around and saw that no one was here. He glanced at the map of the buildling and saw that there was a total of 77 stories. If the zombies are marching here, then there has to be at least a survivor! thought Cross. Cross threw another smoke gernade and ran past the zombies that were inside the building. He took the flight of stairs and quickly ran up. After going up several floors, he came to a room and saw a girl holding a pistol frightened. "Hey miss, we gotta get out of here! The zombies are just gathering more and more" shouted Cross. "My car's outside. We can drive towards my hide out and i'll get you some food and stuff... But first let's get the hell out of here!"

Amanda looked around the building she was making her way down the stares. Soon she had used two more bullets and was now using her second gun. It seemed that the zombies would never leave. Amanda saw movement in the dark. She shot another bullet. This one was off target buy far.

She heard a voice. "Hey Miss we gotta get out of here! The zombies are just gathering more and more. My car's outside. We can drive to my hideout and I'll get you some food and stuff.... But first lets get the hell out of here!"

That was enough for Amanda. She ran to him and smiled. "Thank you I agree. Lets get out of here."

Amanda threw one of her pistols down, "Do you have any ammo for this pice of Shit?" she said pointing down at the gun. She then unlocked the pistol strapped to her back. She held both pistols firmly and started to make her way down the hallway to the other stair case.

"This way is clear... Lets go!"
