Default Re: Rift (RP)

Dawn didn't get a reply. Instead, something much bigger was happening. She saw Tre in the distance giving out orders, but it seemed a few people were refusing to listen. She knew that a storm was on the horizon again. Oh no, she hated storms! Why was it that her worst nightmare was out to get her? She didn't deserve this. Oh God, she was going to die. She was going to die a slow, painful death. Why her? That was what she kept asking herself. Dawn came out of the cabin and looked around to see chaos. The voice that spoke of the rift and asking if she was ready haunted her. It was almost as if listening to that voice had drained all of her energy. Her vision was somewhat blurry, but she could still hear the madness going on around the ship itself. Then without any warning, she held on to the side and then threw up in the sea. At least that was the rum gotten rid of out of her system, anyway. But there were still many things to worry about, especially the oncoming storm that would kill her.

The wind picked up and Dawn was now really afraid she would die without anyone by her side. As the wind became so violent, Dawn tripped and fell off the ship splashing into the water. As soon as she hit the water, she fought hard to swim back up, despite feeling so weak from the rum and the fall she just had. But she couldn't swim back up. The wind was too much. Dawn had held her breath right before falling, but she was feet deep under the ocean. Even though it was violent above the water, it was somewhat calm down here. Dawn wondered if she should have just breathed and let the water kill her. That was one option. However, a decision had already been made for her. As she kept on sinking deeper and deeper, she eventually came to the bottom of the ocean, somewhere she never thought it would be possible to get to. A bright light was seen in the distance. Dawn swam hard towards it, even though she would lose her breath in a matter of moments. When she did reach it, the inevitable happened.

A bright orange stone was what she grasped with her hand. When the stone touched Dawn's hand, she somehow was able to ... breathe. Wait, she could breathe? This is impossible, she thought, even under the sea, that's scientifically impossible. But then her thoughts immediately turned towards Professor Evans. He said that nothing was impossible and everyone had laughed at him. Would people laugh at her when she recited her adventure to her? Well, maybe adventure wasn't the right word to use. Dawn could breathe, but something else happened. When she looked into the stone and saw her own reflection, her eyes weren't staring back ... at least not her eye colour. Her eyes had turned to the same colour as the stone. There was a lot of pain in her mind. She cried out, but no one could hear her. No one could hear her scream under the water. The stone glowed brighter engulfing Dawn and overwhelming her with its beautiful aura. Nothing happened for several minutes until ...

She shot up from the ocean and landed on the boat again, her entire body drenched with seawater. The stone was no longer grasped in Dawn's hand. It had disappeared to wherever it may have gone. It was back to her vision becoming blurry again. Dawn could feel that she was about to pass out. She tried to stand up, but fell to her knees out of tiredness. Her eyes were still engulfed with that orange glow and made her look somewhat peaceful, almost like a goddess. What Dawn did the most was breathe. She hadn't really breathed as much right now than any other time. She was safe, yes, but something had changed about her. Whether it was good or bad was not to be questioned. This was pure goodness because her eyes gave off an aura of light, possibly a solution to the storm. But Dawn couldn't move, she was about to collapse. She spat out seawater and managed to see the crew, including Tre, in the distance again. Dawn finally knew something. She wasn't going to die yet.

Frank, the usual helmsman, was the only one who had seen the girl fall into the ocean. He was furious and went to go get the captain, but that was before he looked into the water below. The strangest thing he saw as he looked below. An orange aura seemed to emit from the water. It was faint, but it was there. Deep under the water. It then grew, became brighter, and larger, and gained speed, until it reached the surface. And up the glowing orange girl went as she landed with a thud on the deck. The young man was frightened, and when his eyes met her's, he looked away as fast he could, and ran. But where could you run to on a ship? He jumped into the water in hopes of death. And death was what he got. But he didn't drown, no. He jumped and tried to die, he tried and tried. But when he opened his eyes underwater, he saw the giant eye of the beast. Then the tentacles, then the mouth. And the mouth was the last thing old Frank saw on the earth. And it was then that he knew he wasn't on earth anymore. He was on a world parallel to earth yes, but not earth. And the Kraken told him so.

One captain, nine men, two prisoners.

Unfortunately the rest of the crew wouldn't die as easily as old Frankie. They would live on longer, go through more torture, more torment. And they still believed they were on earth, that was until the storm hit. This wasn't as bad as the last one, but this one was bad. It didn't last as long either, but it caused some damage. The men were at this point so drunk they didn't care. Trinitad however was fine, and was in his quarters. Tre had gone up to the girl and helped her to her feet. "The cap'n would like you to dine with him tonight," he said as he pushed her in front of him to the captain's quarters. A table was set up there with chicken, goat, pig, and beef, in addition to salad, wine, bread, and other delicious food. But that wasn't the most amazing thing in the quarters.

Standing behind the table was Trinitad. But he was almost unrecognizable. He was wearing a suit, with dress shoes. The suit was in mint condition. He wasn't wearing his bandana and his usually messy hair had sheen. He also smelled...good. Only Tre had known that Trinitad took some drinking water to shower. His face was clean, his skin was normal, he was, perfect. He even brushed his teeth. On his desk were two books, English For The Illiterate and Proper Etiquette. "Good evening, my dear," he said with a million dollar smile. Tre let go of the girl as he walked out of the cabin, closing the door behind him. Trinitad looked at the girl standing before him. He pulled out her chair and helped her into it before he took his seat. "My home is your home," he said, gesturing towards the food. "Please, help yourself." He took a sip of his wine and looked at her. "I don't believe i caught your name, miss, uhm..."

Dæxx couldn't sleep that night. His mind was plagued with what he had witnessed that evening. He had seen time freeze and then reiterate. That wasn't possible under any circumstance. The capability to move as fast as light, therefore stopping time, was impossible for any human to achieve. . . Evans didn't think so, he knew that it was possible to control time without moving at the speed of light. Somehow, Dæxx had achieved that potential power. He knew that when he wished for everything to stop, it did. What about the capability to enter the future and then return? No, it was far too risky to do so. No one should ever know the future for any reason. It would mean the end of their sanity to know what would happen and when.

"I need coffee. . ."

Dæxx snatched up his bag and exited his mother's house, walking to the nearest coffee shop. After asking several people, he was directed to a little shop called the Olympic Coffee House that lay open with an inviting aroma of several different coffees brewing, the chatter of people, and the sound of ambient music. Dæxx would rather live here than in any house in the world. New people to meet, new networking capabilities, new friendships, and - on occasion - a date or two. With saggy eyes and a grin that could outweigh the brightness of the sun, he entered and ordered three cups of their strongest brews. An adorable redhead was his barista, and fetched the coffee with a smile that made Dæxx glance back several times after paying and sitting outside.

He quickly opened his bag and removed his book by Evans, his laptop, a pad of paper, and a unique pen that looked almost like a quill - all while simultaneously opening his laptop and starting it up along with the internet. He flipped through the pages of the book to the chapter on Time Travel before scanning the internet for any new information that might have been excluded from the book about the subject. Three tabs with pages upon pages of information rested in front of his eyes as he took a sip of his first cup. He scribbled notes like a madman, following a form of outline as he looked back and forth between his laptop, his pad of paper, and his coffee. Anything that was not in his copy of the book was written on paper. He needed as much information about what he had experienced in a very short amount of time.

Time. . . Maybe. . . I can take this information and compile it in a much shorter time period. . . I just need to slow down. Slow. . . Down. . .

It had worked, as he repeatedly stated it in his mind, the chatter slowed as did the rest of the world. Quickly scanning to make sure he had done what he thought he could do, he began his notes again. Scrolling from page, to page, to page in what seemed to him to be a matter of hours. In truth, he was moving at a page of notes every 30 seconds.

God, I hope I don't look like some blur on this chair.

Once Tre had helped Dawn to her feet, her vision adjusted back to normal and her eyes returned to the same green colour they had been like before. Despite the fact that she was being led into the captain's quarters and being taken to dinner, nothing seemed to get through to her. Dawn didn't feel the same again. And there was something telling her that whatever happened down there at the bottom of the ocean would have a significant impact on the rest of her life. When she looked at the food, Dawn could have died. She was so hungry that she could have collapsed at that moment. But she didn't. What struck her was the captain's appearance and his attitude towards her. Had it been the quick glimpse of the orange light glow in her eyes that had now faded away for sometime? Why was it that she was being treated like a prisoner before and now like royalty as if she was an individual to be respected? Dawn looked down at her soaked clothes and then at Trinitad. She looked like an idiot right now ...

Then came that smile. What was the captain up to? Dawn had her suspicions, but she couldn't quite shift that voice out of her head. It spoke only to her; it was the one that warned of the rift. "Nothing will be the same for you ever again," it whispered in her mind. "You may try to be as normal as you can, but at the end, you know what happened down at the ocean. The question is, can you control what you have acquired?" In her mind, Dawn screamed at the voice. Who the hell was it to question her? Dawn saw Tre leave the room and the captain motioned for her to sit down with him. Forgetting about the "rift voice" for now, Dawn took a seat almost too soon still looking haunted by what had just happened. "My name is Dawn," she said, turning to face him. "Dawn Turner." She didn't really have much to say because she could feel this strange sensation going around her body. Her eyes started glowing orange again, but only slightly. She looked down trying not to be too distracted by this, but it wouldn't leave her so easily.

Up on deck things were getting weirder and weirder. Firstly, the crew had not known that Frank jumed ship, so for sometime, no one was at the helm, and no one noticed. Some crew members insited that he jumped ship right there and then, so looked over the sides of the ship to see what they could see down there. In the water were two faint red eyes. The men all had one thought in their minds, "Kraken." But how? Kraken never existed. Or did they? Well the crew would discover their own Kraken when the time came, but this was not a Kraken. This was the Rift. The voice. "The rift, it's aboard this ship, and once you get a taste, theres no turning back." The men were of course terrified at this point. But, Tre was there to keep them in line. They all resumed their work, still shaking in their bones.

The second weird thing was Trinitad. Only Tre knew what he was wearing at the moment, but it freaked him out. Wasn't it a rule to only keep classic pirate things on board? That's why Clay chucked Dawn's phone into the water. And pirates can't read! Where did he get those books? That suit? And why...why did he shower? With the crews drinking water! That's mutiny! Isn't it? Tre wasn't sure.

Trinitad, meanwhile, was in the quarters with Dawn, dining. He took a bite of his bread and wiped his mouth, as written in the etiquette book. He was trying really hard to impress her. "Dawn, that's a beautiful name," he said, smiling at her. "Well then Dawn, i want you to know that all this, everything, is for you." He gestured towards his clothes and the food, ever still smiling. "Eat anything you want." He looked at her, taking another sip of wine. He then noticed her clothes. "My, wouldn't you like a towel to help dry off? And perhaps a dress. A beautiful gown. Would you like that?" He got up from his chair and looked around his cabin. "Pardon me," he said as he searched for a dress. And he found one. The most elegant one he had ever seen. It was a long, silk dress. It had a deeply cut neck that was slightly revealing, but nothing to make any crew member "happy". It was spagetti strapped and all around perfect. Beautiful. "I hope you find it suitable."

Dawn didn't feel afraid right now, but knew that she should have been. The "rift voice" kept on whispering in her head telling her that nothing would ever be the same again in her life. Even without the voice in her head, she knew things wouldn't be the same again, anyway. She heard Trinitad mentioning that her name was beautiful. No one ever said that to her, apart from her parents. This was getting a bit too out of hand. She could see he was obviously trying to impress her with his charms and looks. But for now, Dawn decided to play along with it and her mind was too plagued with dark thoughts to even rebel or even take a stand against him. "I ... I'll try the dress on later," she said quietly, as she took a piece of bread and started eating it. Her eyes were still glowing that same orange colour. Had the captain noticed yet? She hoped it would put him off her and chuck her off the ship. The strange sensation going around her body felt ... warm. She felt like she could fly in the nightsky right now and fly among the stars.

It was almost as if she was reborn, but still retained all her memories from her first life. Dawn didn't know how to quite put it. "I feel really strange right now," said Dawn, not really caring if the captain could hear her right now. She walked to the wall and pressed her hand against the glass. "I fell off the ship because I was scared of the storm. I've always been scared of storms ever since I nearly got hit by one when I was little." She released her hand from the glass and saw that was glowing ever so wonderfully as well. "It's really hard to explain what I'm feeling right now ... it's almost as if I've died and come back to life with so much energy inside." Unknown to her, Dawn's body was now all, but glowing the same orange colour. Perhaps the glowing may have been seen outside the captain's quarters. It was bright enough for almost anyone on the ship to notice. The rift, whatever it was, had done its job well on Dawn. She still felt weak from falling to the bottom of the ocean, but whatever had happened down there had changed her ...

The bright shining first came to Tre aboard. The shining was so bright it blinded him. This bright orange aura coming from the captain's quarters. The men looked at each other with anger. They then turned to the captain's quarters. Victor took out his whip and looked at Tre. He grabbed him by the collar and pulled him up. "You brought an omen upon this ship! The girl is a demon!" he said as he tightened his grip. "No! This naught be my fault! Behold! 'Tis your cap'n which has damned us! Together, we should lead a mutiny! Down with the cap'n!" Tre wasn't sure if he meant what he said, but he needed Victor off of him. And his words did just that. Victor smiled and let him go. "Aye. Take this pistol, and kill him and the girl!" he said, handing Tre a pistol.

Tre stumbled through the doorway of the captain's quarters. He opened the door and was showered in orange light. Trinitad was on the ground, terrified, with sword in hand, pointed towards the glowing girl. Tre took out his pistol and aimed it at the girl. "Die foul beast!" he said as he pulled the trigger. But once the bullet got close enough to the girl, it began to glow with that same orange aura, and shot right back at Tre, catching his arm. He cried out in pain as he fell to the ground. Trinitad backed further away from the girl. "Get away from me witch!" he said as he stumbled back.

The crew that remained on board had other things to worry about. A large tentacle came up across the side of the ship, and appeared on deck. It grabbed a man and pulled him into the water. "Kraken!!" screamed a crew member as they rushed up the mast. Trinitad felt the jerk of the ship as the Kraken grabbed it. It sent him and Tre flying backwards. "Witch! Leave my ship! Take the crew but leave me and my ship!" said Trinitad. Tre looked at him, scowling. "No! Take the mutinous cap'n and leave the ship to the men who deserve it!" yelled Tre back. It was then that a tentacle broke in through the back window and grabbed all three in the room, throwing them far out towards the sea. Tre looked back for a split second, noticing the ship plummet into the ocean, eaten by the Kraken.

Trinitad woke up. His head hurt really bad. He looked around and saw Tre and Dawn next to him, in the sand. Of an island? What happened? He looked down at his clothes and noticed the tux and his pirate clothes underneath it. He remembered now. They were having dinner, and Dawn began glowing. Then...she threw him into the sea? No, not her, a Kraken. Krakens don't exist. Do they? He got up and tore off the tux. He walked towards the water, but backed up when he saw it. The ocean, it was that same glowing orange. "Where am I?" he thought to himself.

Sleif looked down at Siri as he heard her stomach growling from hunger. "Do you have good food over here?" asked Siri as she rubbed her stomach.
For once, since they had met, Sleif made a genuine smile at hearing that. "I'm sure we can find something you would like!" Sleif replied as he started to look around to find a direction.

"I think the closest place is in that direction!" Sleif said, pointing to the north. At that moment, a rift instantly appeared in front of both Sleif and Siri, which began to start absorbing anything near it.
Raising his hand instinctively, the rift instantly started to shrink, before disappearing completely.

Everything happened so fast. Dawn couldn't control the light that was overwhelming her body, there were even a few tears trickling down her cheeks because she felt so emotional at the time. When the insults of demon came up, she couldn't hold back her anger. Her light glowed even more violently. The pistol had been handed over to Tre. Question was, would he make the decision to kill her? "Get it down with already," she muttered under her breath, closing her eyes. But she didn't feel anything pierce through her heart. The bullet has instead pierced Tre's arm. There were more insults, the witch one really did wind Dawn up. She saw the Kraken and then she wasn't quite sure of what had happened. Her body floated in the air against her will and shot across the black sky like a shooting star. It happened so fast that Dawn blacked out by the time she had reached the sand. At least there was one important thing going on; she had made it out of there and the Kraken had spared her.

It felt like days later when Dawn opened her eyes and saw that she was stranded on some strange island with Tre and Trinitad. She groaned when she felt a rush of pain hit her head. Headache, she figured and sat up. But then her eyes widened when she saw the colour of the ocean. It was orange! The same damn orange that her eyes had been glowing like. But her eyes had returned to their natural green colour again. God, if only she could quite remember how on earth she had managed to escape the ship. Dawn rose to her feet and looked around. The island was quite big and ... did she forget to mention scary to herself? Trinitad was already awake. She didn't want to go near him. She didn't want to be near him, especially since he and his crew were about to kill her. Dawn made a run for it without hesitation into the jungle that was just ahead not caring what was in there, but knew she had to get away. These pirates meant business and she didn't want to get caught up in THAT kind of business either.

When Tre woke up Trinitad and the girl wasn't near him. He got up and looked around, finding he was on an island, by himself. His head and arm hurt really bad. He remembered the ship being eaten by the Kraken, and him winding up here. Where were Trinitad? Where was Dawn? But that wasn't what was catching his attention. The ocean. It was that very orange that had overtaken the ship. It was glowing, very brightly. Tre was mezmorized by it. It was like, treasure. He loved it. "You know you want it...the rift wants you. Don't be afraid," the voice told him. And he wasn't afraid. He took a step towards it, and it glowed brighter. He put one foot in the water, and his foot began to glow as well. He kept walking into it, a little faster now, until the water was up to his neck. He dunked his head underwater, and felt the orange flowing through his veins, he felt great power, he felt great strength. And he knew what he would do with it. But first, he would search the jungle on the island, to see how he could get home. Once he disapeared into it, the voice began to hiss on the beach. "Do not disturb the peace of this island, for it is unlike the home at which you live in. Welcome to Davy Jones' locker." Of course no one was around to hear this, so no one would know they were in a parallel universe. Trinitad had left the beach a long while ago.

After staring at the ocean, Trinitad knew he didn't want anything to do with it. He looked at the sleeping Tre, and left the beach, into the jungle. He hadn't noticed Dawn disappeared. He wandered through the giant forest, noticing that there were absolutely no sounds whatsoever. But what there was, was red eyes. Red glowing eyes on some of the trees, speaking to him. "The rift, it is here, don't fear it, don't deny it." He tried to ignore the voice as he walked deeper into the forest. He then noticed there wasn't any sun in the sky, and yet the jungle and island was lit, except of course the trees blocking out the light, wherever it was coming from. Trinitad also noticed the footsteps on the ground, he didn't know who's (or what's) they were, but he followed them. He had to get off this island. And maybe these footsteps would lead him to someone who could help.

After a good ten minutes of running and not looking back, Dawn came to a halt. She was scared. She didn't know what day it was, what time it was. She didn't know if this was some kind of dream that she wasn't coming out of. But she slapped herself so many times that her cheeks turned pink and it made her realise that she was indeed awake, that this was actually real. Dawn had stopped at a fountain that was pouring out fresh water. She felt the water with her hands and smiled. It felt so refreshing. But trouble arrived in the form of several wolves running after a poor defenceless deer. The deer stopped near her as if she was a friend. Dawn knew that the deer was so beautiful and she didn't want it to be ripped apart by the wolves. Her hands began to glow and before she knew it, her entire body was glowing that same orange colour again. She raised her hands and the wolves ran away when blasts of light came out of them aiming for them. Dawn hadn't done this with her own will. But now she knew something. She had power.

The deer licked Dawn's right hand and then skipped off without anymore distraction. Dawn was so intrigued by what she just done. Professor Evans was really right. Nothing was impossible! The "rift voice" had taken her to the bottom of the ocean not by accident, but on purpose. It was almost as if it had been her destiny to be kidnapped, to land on the pirate ship, to see into the forbidden power that now gleamed around her very existence. This power had made Dawn feel like she was born again and that nothing else in her life had mattered, but of course, her memories still lingered in her mind. Her mum and dad! She needed to get back home somehow. But for now, she walked around the island feeling fearless and not fighting her power that sent off a warm yet strange sensation around her body. "I feel invincible," she said under her breath, smiling for the first time since being captured on the ship. "I feel like I could do many great things with this power ... ohhh, am I going to have fun now."

“I failed once again. To think I could accomplish anything by protecting others who I know nothing of. Maybe I should of minded my own business. By now, I could have been home and finishing the renovations. My manager is probably worry sick about me.” Daiod stretched with the clamps on and stood up. He looked around and said “What time is it? It feels like I have been here for days.” His stomach growls and he sits down again. He dowses off to sleep for alittle while before he hears a storm brewing. Daiod hear a voice from up above saying “The rift is abroad the ship, get ready for the inevitable.” Daiod thought to himself “A rift abroad this ship? Maybe that’s my answer to getting back to the Magian Domain.”

Suddenly, the ship begins to shake and someone yells out “You brought an
omen upon the ship…The girl is a demon!... No! This naught to be my fault! Behold! ‘Tis your captain which has damned us all!” Daiod shakes his head and snickers “What a bunch of disorganized fools.” Someone yells out “Kraken!!” and the ship begans to flood. Water engulfs Daiod’s legs and he thinks “Death is upon me. A failure like me deserves this. A voice calls out “Daiod, don’t be so hard on yourself. The rift is upon you. Use it!”

Daiod is transported to a dark area and he is suddenly surrounded by light. “You have been given a second chance. Now choose your path.” Three of Daiod’s weapons from his universe appeared before him. “Use the sword to slash through enemies, the rod to engulf enemies in clouds of mystical energy, or the shield to protect others. Which path do you choose?” Daiod looked at each weapon and he immediately chosen the shield. The voice said “So you choose to walk the path of the Defender? So be it.” The rod and sword vanished and voice continued on “Don’t worry, you will be able to use those weapons later on. Now, some of your powers have been reawakened. Use them to protect others. Go to your new home.”

Daiod woke up in deep in a large jungle. He decided it was best to small village of huts incase he found others. Daiod gathered large pieces of bamboo, wood, leaves, and vines and weaved them together to make a hut. He repeated the process until he had created about seven huts. He made a large campfire to signal survivors of the shipwreck to gather
in the village. Daiod went off to find some sort of food.

Tre was the first to see the smoke, and he hurried through the jungle searching for the source. Actually, when he stopped to actually think about it, he never actually saw the smoke. He just, sensed it. Ever since bathing in that ocean, he's been feeling, different. It was weird, he couldn't understand it himself. BUt he felt, powerful, and he could do anything. He was on top of the world. Or, whatever world they were in exactly. But regardless, he sensed the smoke, and he ran faster to get to it. He finally reached the small huts. He looked at them, and glared. His eyes began to glow brightly, orange. But a dark orange. A very dark orange. He glared and glared. And his anger rose and rose. And within seconds the whole area was engulfed in flames. The huts were burned down, the trees were burned down, the animals were scorned. Tre himself disappeared into the darkness of the jungle, satisfied with the power he posessed.

Trinitad had arrived shortly after. He had seen the smoke from a freshwater stream in the jungle. There was a lack of trees so he could clearly see the black smoke rising up from somewhere in that jungle. He wasn't alone. For his own sake, he had to find out about whatever was also on that island. He could care less if it got the girl, and Tre was acting a bit strange since the storm. But maybe they, or it, was friendly, and it could help him. But that thought changed when he saw the burned down huts and the dying animals. Whatever caused this was evil. But Trinitad noticed something about the flames. They were glowing, and orange. Immediately he thought he knew what had caused it. "Dawn..." he said as he glared around. He then heard some rustling in the bushes behind him. He drew out his sword and spun around, listening. It was a wolf. It had a look in its eyes, a fearful look. Like it had just seen something terrible. Trinitad could only imagine what that wolf had witnessed. Once its eyes met Trinitad's, it immediately fled back into the jungle, and left Trinitad there, in the midst of the burning trees, huts, and orange glowing flames.

"I think the closest place is in that direction!" Sleif said, pointing to the north.

Siri looked at Sleif and followed into the direction he pointed to. Siri looked at all her surroundings of this new planet. "It's so different, but the same." Siri said as she kept on gazing around. As they were walking to foward, to find some kond of place to eat. Out no where, a Rift appeared. "A Rift," Siri said quietly. Siri ran towards the Rift as fast as she can, it started tio shrink so she ran faster. as she ran she looked back really quick to see that Sleif was closing. When she turned back she saw that is was. "Whay did you do that!? I could of gone back home!" Siri yelled at Sleif.
