The year is 3000 AD, the turn of the fourth millenium of humanity's great history. But the earth as we know it is gone. The earth as we immagine it, never came to be. In the middle of the 29th century, seven hundred years after Humanity's expansion to other worlds, a cataclysm ripped through the solar system. All humanity's advanced technology just shut down. Ships in space, travling at velocities close to the speed of light, tore themsleves apart as everything on them failed. Space stations and satalites plumeted from the sky. The Lunar Colonies suffacated as their enviro-generators ceased to function. On Earth, Mars, Jupiter's moon Europa and the the newly terraformed Venus, Humanity was suddenly isolated as all communications and transport technology shut down. Cities crumbled and Humanity was decimated, deserted by the technology they relied so much on. No-one knew what caused this event, now called 'The Great Schism', but it left the Human race scattered and isolated for over a century and a half. Now, in the ruins of once-great mega-cities and in new settlements across the four inhabited worlds, proud Humanity scratches a living from the ashes of their greatness.

Yet this is not the worst of Humanity's woes. For some unknown reason, a generation after The Great Schism, the rules of reality started not to apply. Animal genes mutated exponentialy in a single leap, creating a whole new race of creatures, both great and small, who now walk the wilds, both predator and prey. Humans were not spared from this wave evolution. A small number of humans now are exhibiting signs of being no longer homo sapiens, but homo superior, the next stage in humanity. These humans are stronger, faster and sharper than their forebears and a small fraction of this minority display powers beyond the ken of others, manipulating the very elements and energy forms around them. These new humans are still only a minority, but with every generation, their numbers grow. How they are treated depends where they are and who they are. Like thier ansectors, they posess the ability to be either good or evil. In some towns and enclaves, they are heroes, defenders of the people. In others, they are the outriders, the alone, risking life and limb outside the walls, away from those whom they do not understand or fit in with. And in a few places, they are hated, reviled as a threat and are hunted down and persecuted at every turn.

Old or new? Human or something more? Good, Evil or Outcast? That is for you to decide. Walk your own path, no-one else can.

Gear: Most of Angel's appearance is made of armor. She wields a sword as well, and Angel was always good with technology, finding some laser guns she fixed them up and uses them. Their only weakness is they over heat really fast.

Powers: (SMK, whatever) Can create and manipulate the halogen; Fluorine, with no harm to herself. Fluorine is a very dangerous chemical that can cause terrible chemical burns. If mixed with Chlorine you should be careful when using water or sand for it can burn both severly.

Bio: When Angel was born the parents were shocked with the wings upon her back. They were scared she would be outcasted so hide them by taping them down on her back and putting clothes over them. When Angel reached the age of 12 she got in a fight at school and in all the fuss torn her wings out and flew to get out ofthe way from a punch. Instantly she was outcasted from the town as a threat.

When Angel turned 19 she still lived close to the town. Se had learned of her great powers and with the control of Air it was no wonder why she was born with wings. In that same year her home town was attacked by a giant monster, a creature from the woods that had formed around the town. She used her powers and wings to save the town. She was no longer seen as an outcast anyone, but a hero and received new armor and weapons to help take care of the town from the new creatures from the woods.

Even though she feels safe here and has a place she feels like she has something more important she needs to do with these powers. Because of this, when another kid was born with powers in the town she left on her own knowing the town would be safe.

Bio: Born among Homo Superiors, Ryo learned early how to defend himself. He has dueled several, and has no patience for the weak. Ryo is considered the Alpha Male among his crowd, and never stands down. When he was only 19, Ryo fought a powerful Homo Superior named Xerge, and won barely, getting a large scar accross his right eye. After this battle, Ryo began to wear a black blindfold. He doesn't need his eyes. Most of the time he uses his other strong senses to navigate. He rarely takes his blind flold off, unless he'd like to see someone's features.

Apperance: Lance is tall and athletically built. He had long, light brown hair that he ties back to keep it out of his grey-blue eyes. He wears sturdy, practical atire, in the form of a shirt and cargo pants, both died the subdued colour of dry soil, and tough walking boots. He also wears a pair of old flying goggles on his forehead.

Gear: Blain has numerous pieces of kit to aid him in his work. Firstly, his armour consists of a chestplate and shoulder pads, made from specially toughened plastic over a kevlar layer. He found this armour in an old millitary base and has yet to find another suit like it. His weaponry includes a pair of equally ancient semi-automatic Beretta Elite-IIs. In close quarters, he uses a combat knife he carries in his right boot and a long-bladed spear that he generally carries strapped to his back. His gadgets include:
a grapple atattched to a high-tensity, highly flexable steel cable
a crowbar (every adventuer's best friend ^_^)
an old motorcycle that he discovered by a MASSIVE stroke of luck while exploring an abandoned town. (The bike is still in bad shape and requires three rare power cells to get it to work. I just stuck it in cos it looks badass)

Powers: None. He's still stronger, faster and sharper than a regular human and his marksmanship skills are the best in his hometown, but he doesn't have any 'magic' to fall back on.

Bio: Blain is the child of two other Homo Superior, so it stood to reason that he would also be one of them. In his hometown Superiors fill a rather unique roll. Despite the fear and mistrust that circulates throughout the people, the town council realised that Superiors were both too numerous and too useful to be ignored or oppressed. Hence, nearly all the superiors in Dust Point join the council-sanctioned 'Outriders Guild'. Despite the fact that Dust Point has a standing guard, they generally aren't enough to handle any special circumstances that occur, so said tasks go to the guild. Blain joined the guild as soon as he was old enough and it soon became aparent that he was one of their best agents. Now that Blain is trusted with the most dangerous missions the guild has to offer, he generally works alone, despite the fact he doesn't mind company, his sense of morals makes him leery of putting anyone but himself in the line of fire.

Gear: She may seem delicate, being a homo sapien and all, but shes smart. She wears light chainmail she savaged from a museum, not to mention the swords and daggers she carries on her at all times. She has great knowledge about guns, but rarly uses them. She likes to kick her opponents butts with her speed and grace, rather than a bullet.

Powers: none, shes a homo sapien, not a superior...

Bio: Oddly enough, she is a homo sapien, born of a Superior and a Sapien. She never gained much, except she is stronger than most other homo sapiens. She may be a homo sapien, but she grew up surrounded by Superiors. She had to be tougher, stronger, faster, not truly realising that she could never be with them. She only realised that she would never be able to compete when she was thrown to the side by one of her friends, only with a kick. She now fights for honor, and to prove not all sapiens are as weak as they should be.
