Default The Soul of Terra Belle

This was a RP I was waiting for more people to start, but then I realized something. No one's going to start something their waiting for, so I decided to finally start.

Here is the link to the sign up thread. It's not too late. Just jump in wherever appropriate.

The year is 2058 AD. War is obsolete.

The technology hasn't advanced since 2008. Sure, there are flying cars, but they fly only a foot above the ground. Yes, Earth has become a paradise. The ozone has begun to repair itself, everything is clean burning, it's a bright future for mankind indeed.

My name is Miden Temelen. I'm a 22 year old college student. I practice Kapoeira and the arts of sword fighting. I'm mixed with black and white, but I consider myself black. I like all kinds of music except for country. I was born New SC; the same place my father was born, before the events of 2030. I have a sister named Aurura, and she's 25.

Terra Belle means Beautiful Earth, but it wasn't always that way. The planet earth was a horrid place before 2030. War, unfaithful politicians, that's not including the whole terrorist union. the U.S was almost wiped off the face of the planet. Anyway, a group of scholars gained access to the U.N's funds and reformatted the whole system. They actually worked with countries and had everyone remove their nuclear missiles, and now nuclear power is a thing of benefit. They became known as the Earth Corps.

There are a few people who reject today's society, but their welcome to their wants. They live in the outskirts of Terra Belle, New SC; formerly known as Darlington. Despite the fact that they don't like us, the city supports them in hopes that they come to accept the new system. I heard rumors of them trying to infiltrate the town's defense system and sabotage it, but I passed it off as rumor. At least, I hope it's a rumor...

A man in a trenchcoat walked into the mall of Terra Belle's shopping district. His face was hidden in the coat underneath a hat. He passed a security guard, who only nodded and walked in the separate direction.

The guard smiled and lifted his arm to chest height. He pushed a button on a wrist strap and said "The Caged Eagle has been prepared." There was a second of static, then "Remove all sleepers from Falcon's nest" came from the wrist strap.

"Ladies and Gentlemen" The overhead intercom system blared. "There is a slight problem with the announcement system. Over the course of 10 minutes, there may be feedback and static, but there is no need to worry. There are technicians correcting the system at the moment. That is all." A few people scattered throughout the mall walked outside within a 30 second window. They had to, otherwise, they'd die in the new rebellion...

"PEOPLE OF TERRA BELLE!" A few peole actually looked at the seemingly vagrant man. "I wish you all luck in the afterlife." With that, he set off an explosion...

Lesedi was skipping around her village in a good mood. Today had been a good day. She had made several dresses for some of the village women and had even finished a batch of bandages for her father. Not only that but Ashley was coming by to visit. She was in the country on business and was going to stop by for dinner before her flight. Ashley hadn't been back to South Africa in a few years so it was always good when she would visit. Lesedi walked into her home and sat down at her dining room table. She opened up her bag and took out thread. She was making a doll for Ashley and it was almost done. All she had to do now was finish up the dress. Lesedi lived with her father who was a healer. He gave spiritual, relationship, and healing advice to the towns folk. Her mother had died when she was four from an illness and Lesedi didn't have any siblings. She had been kind of lonely growing up. Her father was always busy doing what he could for the community, but that meant many times she was left alone. But one day Ashley came. She was from England and was on a trip. She had came to visit the school and had seen Lesedi in a class. The girl intrigued her so she went to meet her. The two have been close friends ever since.

Lesedi snapped the thread and looked at the red dress with approval. It was just perfect for the doll. She dug around in her bag and pulled out the doll. She put on the dolls little dress and marveled at how beautiful the doll looked. She had long brown hair, blue eyes, and a kind smile just like Ashley. Lesedi hoped she liked her gift. Lesedi looked up when her father walked into the house. She smiled when she saw him. But he had a grave expression on his face.
"What's wrong?" She asked worried.
She got up and went over to him to take off his coat and hang it on the rack. He sat down at the table and she got him a glass of water.
"I'm fine but did you hear about what happened?" He asked taking a drink.
Lesedi gave him a questionable look.
"A bomb was detonated outside of Terra Belle. We of course are no where near the danger, but the one who set off the bomb let it be known that we're all in danger. I want you to watch yourself and to be careful. We don't know who exactly is causing this and the last thing I want is for something bad to happen to you. I've had visions of the future and I'm worried. It doesn't look well." He said quietly.
Lesedi didn't say anything and watched him for a moment. But before she could say anything Ashley came through the door.
"Hey! Long time no see!" Ashley said excitedly.
