"What does all of this mean? These things are widely known as myths, made up stories from the very heart of the imagination. But what if was all true? What if these things appeared in our modern day lives without any warning? How would our lives be affected? Could man make the right choice in using these? Would it lead to great benefit? Or perhaps would it lead to greed and selfishness?"


That was what Professor Patrick Evans asked at his lectures many years ago. But now there is something sinister happening in the background. Across the world, these five very things are happening. Advanced technology has suddenly been found, people are emerging with supernatural powers, parallel universes are making signs of appearing, ancient magic has been demonstrated and time travel has very well become possible. But Professor Evans died a mere two years ago. If these five things, or let alone one of them, fall into the wrong hands, then perhaps the fate of the world is doomed.

The world is changing itself in the year 2008. The rift, as it is described, is occurring. Several ordinary individuals are about to find themselves colliding with one or more of these things. They scattered across the world. They could change the fate of humanity. They could control the destiny of the universe itself. But their morality is unclear. Will they use these five special gifts for doing some good? Or will their inner and dark desires emerge? Only time can tell ...


Dawn Turner glanced at her surroundings. Nothing more than a few forest trees and a clear path were ahead of her. Nothing out of the ordinary, of course. Or at least for now, anyway. She next looked at her watch. Six o'clock in English time. Right. It was time for her to get back home or else her mum and dad would be only worrying about her rather than doing their usual scolding of staying out late. But what was the need to be told what to do? Dawn felt she could be trusted and besides! It was nearing summer. What was the need to come home early when it was lighter now? Typical Mum and Dad, she decided and flicked through the songs on her iPod. They probably want to go out and want me to look after Spark again. Spark was her pet dog that she had since was ten years old. Five years had gone by and he was literally her best friend. How could she ever forget the black white patch on his face that almost looked like a lightning bolt? That was one reason enough to call him Sparky.

She carried on through the forest being so familiar with the path that she was taking. However, something unexpected came. There was another path! Dawn found herself at a crossroads. This was quite strange. She could've sworn that this hadn't been here before ... maybe she was hallucinating? Maybe netball practice had drained a lot out of her. After all, it would be their big championship game in a week and she needed to be focused on that. "We so need a championship after two years of getting beaten," she muttered under her breath. So instead of taking the unknown path, Dawn took her usual road ignoring what she thought she had just seen with her eyes. Little did she know, that path was quite special indeed ... a path that had once led her down to finding all about Professor Patrick Evans. But there were some things to be explained about that matter. One, he talked a lot of nonsense. And two, he was now dead. Yet lately, she couldn't shake off this eerie feeling that someone was watching her.

Taylor sat in her bean bag chair, her hazel eyes glued to the t.v. screen. Her and her friends had been obsessing over the newest video game, staying up all weekend to play. Her friends sat beside her in a semi circle, not taking their own eyes from the LCD television. After another hour of intense button mashing, she turned of her ps3 and drove her friends home in her mustang. Taylor was spoiled, but not a spoiled brat. She knew her wealth came from luck, and didnt rub it into any peoples faces. She still had some daylight to burn, so she cruised over to the town park.

She locked her car, hopped out, and began a stroll down the winding cobblestone path. All around her, the world was changing. It was more than just the usual change of season, spring to summer, as it was now. No, something told her that the world was changing on a great scale. She remembered the crazy old professor she had heard about...Dr. Whats-His-Face....Evans! Dr. Evans was always explaining his ludacris theories on the waxing and waning of the earth. "What a crazy man." She said to herself, but some part of her wanted to believe he was right.

[Stavros]

Stavros sat on the edge of the roof. He was tired of these cramped little apartments, he wanted to go away from here. He always thought, as a kid, that Japan would be great, all of the technology and even the culture. But now it all bored him. He was almost glad that the school was condemned for reasons unknown. He wasn't sure what to make of it, all he knew now was that he was pretty much free to do as he wished. He sighed as he watched the sun set on the city. Most say that it gets darker at night, but not in Tokyo. If anything, it's brighter, due to all of the neon lights and huge T.V.'s.

He was sick of it all, his life was going nowhere now. He thought about calling up Mizouki, but didn't feel like having a 'good time'. The night grew colder as the day dragged on.

The room was filled with computers and many sizes of machinery. There was opperating tables, as well as sugery tables; it was like a mixture of a lab and a hospitle. "Everything is going as planned, no set backs or anything of the sort." A man in a long silver coat, (much like a professor's coat) said. "Good, that means we haven't waisted a year of our lives. Hopefully we won't waist the up coming year on this." Another man said as he was looking at a transparent monitor. "What a beauty, soon to be feared by many enemies." The same man said as he walked towards a large tube filled with glowing, light blue water; a naked, sleeping young woman was floating in the tube.

"Sir, the Deemo is waiting for you in your office." A woman with a siilver coat said as she came through double sliding doors. "Great, i bet he's just being unpacient again." the man said annoyed as he continued to look at the young woman. "Assist York." The man said a he walked out of the lab. "Yes Sir." The woman replied as she walked over to his assistant. "So how did you get this girl, did she volunteer?" The woman asked. "No, i think she was kidnapped." The man replied. "What?.." The woman said soflty. "The Deemo can do what ever he want's, you know that." The man told the woman. "Yeah, but kidnap a girl?" The woman went on. "I doubt anyone would help out the Deemo willingly." the man continiued. "True, I still wait for the day we are liberated, maybe this girl will get out of her brain wash and turn on Deemo." The woman said as she looked at the girls faces.

Walking through the door and slamming her bag on the floor, Dawn literally collapsed on to the sofa. "How was netball practice?" Elizabeth Turner, her mother, called from the kitchen. "Fine, just tiring, I guess," she replied, as she flicked on the TV. There wasn't really anything at this time, so she decided to flick to the news on ITV1. Wonder if there's anyone getting killed or attacked lately? Everything's been so quiet lately. Dawn had found that suspicious, but of course, she was the only one. Whilst her mum would be more interested in gossip at work, her dad was slightly different. Simon Turner was quiet the spark in the family, who Dawn obviously thought she had inherited her brightness from. He was in fact a website developer for the local council and also a technician. He always seemed mystified and fascinated by the news. But Professor Evans' immediate death two years ago was the most gripping storyline he had ever encountered. Which was why Dawn had decided to step away and let the police do the work.

Besides, there was enough to worry about. She was in her second last year at high school and she was still trying to get her grades up as well as trying to win a netball championship for the school before she left. Half an hour later, Dawn found herself bouncing her basketball outside in the garden and shooting hoops. So basketball might not have been her sport that she specialised in, but shooting the hoops was helping her enough, anyway. She was the key figure that kept the team together, the one that would encourage them to play at their best, the one that ... her train of thought was immediately cut off. Dawn could hear a rustling in the bushes. She had tried ignoring them at first, but they kept getting louder and louder only creating curiosity in her mind. As Dawn came closer to the rustling, she noticed a pair of dark red eyes. "It is beginning," hissed a voice. But the voice wasn't human; it was telepathic. "The five objects are coming. Are you ready for them?" Dawn jumped back and then before she knew it, the voice was gone.

Taylors stroll lasted a mere 10 minutes due to a rain storm, which was quite odd since it was almost summer. The heavy rain pounded against her shiny red car, her window wipers set to high, just barely clearing away enough rain to make the road visible.

"Rain this heavy in May? Doesnt sound right..." She said to herself, quickly turning up her radio to drown out the constant thud of the rain against her car. As she turned a sharp corner, lightning cracked across the blackened sky, the boom of thunder falling close behind. It was so loud and deep, it caused Taylor to lose control of her car. Spining, spining, spining out of control, her car hit a pothole filled with water, bouncing the car into an abnormal pattern until finally...The airbag exploded with a whoosh crashing into Taylors head like a wooden door. The impact alone was enough to knock her out cold, which it did. Her car sat crumpled in the ditch until an ambulance arrived at the scene, freeing her with the jaws of life. Inside her mind, Taylor heard soothing voices, telling her everything was fine. But, another voice, a raspy chilly voice was warning her. It croaked something about the changing world, how nothing would be the same, including her. Taylor ignored the raspy voice, and awoke to the white bright rooms of the hospital.

Stavros watched as the slow line moved forward. "Now boarding. . .Flight 208 and Flight 364." The female announcer spoke over the intercom. Finally, a change. Flight 364, that's the one. He let a small smile escape as he picked up his bad and slung it over his shoulder. He didn't have much, but he had what he needed. He hurried over to his flight's line and waited. He handed his bag to the security guard who said, "は、すべて、先生ですか?" Is that all, sir? Stavros shook his head and said, "はい。ありがとうございました。" Yes. Thank you. His bag was passed through the scanners, and he walked through the metal detector to reach his other bag. He walked onto his flight and sat down in his seat. He turned on his Ipod and flicked to some random band, the screen read 9:53 PM. Not too long now. . . He watched as the plane soon took off and his former home soon vanished to clouds.

"So, you really think that she will be the ultimate weapon?" The woman asked, as she sat in front of a trasparent computer screen. "Yes, but not any time soon." York replied as he was writing down notes. "Looks like a storm is starting up." the woman said with a plain voice as she glanced at the wall that was a complete window. "Yep, looks like it." York said, just to keep the conversation going. "Ait, i need your opinion." York called as he was looking over his notes.

BOOM! A huge explosion crashed through the windowed wall, causing computers, and other machinery to malfunction and turn into rubble. York and Ait grabbed onto each other as they flew back. "Deemo will fall!" A man screamed as he was on some sort of a hover vehicle. Sirens could be heard from a distance. "Come on lets go!" the same man screamed out to the others behind him. York and Ait watched the rebels take off. "Come on, we have to tell the proffesor!" York yelled over the alarm echoing through out the building.

Some kind of pillar holding all sorts of wires tipped over and slammed onto the tube that was holding the girl captive; because of this, the tube went hay wire, casuing the glass to shutter, and the girl to fall to he knees.

"UH.... where am i?" The girl asked, as she slowly opened her eyes to see a lab in ruins, and to hear the ringing sound of the annoying alarm. She looked down at her body to see that she was naked, but that was the least of her problems. She then saw the broken windowed wall and walked towards it; to see that she was about 100 stories over the ground. Her body was begining to get covered by cool rain drops blowing into the lab. "Who am i?" She asked herself. She then looked at the tube she came from, and saw plate on the tube. "2586745?" She said confusingly. "Is that my name? What ever it is, i have to get out of here." She said as she walked towards a table that had a coat laying on it. The girl stood by the shattered windowed wall in nothing but a coat, waiting for some one to drive by so she could hitch a ride. It didn't take very for someone to come by; more like a minute.

"Hey babe, where too?" The man asked her as she hopped onto his hovering motorcycle. "I dunno...." She replied slowly.

She couldn't have possibly been imagining things, right? That wasn't like her. As Dawn lay in bed later that night dwelling on what she had heard before, she couldn't help, but feel that she was being watched. Every now and again, she glanced at the window thinking that there was a dark shadow there stalking her. But when she looked closer, there was no actual shadow there. This is too weird, she thought, as she gazed at the picture frames on her desk of her with her family and her netball teammates. Just when I thought my life was getting really intense, something like THIS has to happen. Dawn sat up in her bed. She couldn't sleep. The storm outside was getting worse. Speaking of storms, she hated them. She had always been afraid of them since she was a little girl after nearly getting struck by lightning when walking home one night with her dad. But Simon and Elizabeth Turner were both asleep. They had work during the day. Dawn felt somewhat alone in her fear and tried to sleep, but her eyes wouldn't shut.

Then the voice was heard again. "You're thinking about what will happen ..." it whispered; there wasn't any clue or hint to give away if it was male or female. Dawn fell out of bed almost immediately and shivered in fear. That voice scared her so much. What was going on? These kind of things weren't meant to happen to her! She was just a normal girl that wanted to do well in her academic studies and in netball, so that she could get a scholarship to a very high status college somewhere in the country. But all of this didn't seem to matter, at least not to the voice. "There is so much to fear," the voice continued to say. Those same pair of dark red eyes appeared again, but came from the cupboard. As the lightning continued to flash without warning, Dawn rose to her feet and walked towards where the eyes were. But when she got there, there was ... nothing. All of this ... and it was nothing? Then without warning, Simon rushed into the room. "Dawn, are you all right? I heard you falling out of bed!" he exclaimed.

Christopher was moving today. His father didn’t really give him a reason why. He didn’t even tell him until last week where. Yet, he wasn’t moving very far. The limousine pulled out the front of the large house that stood high behind him. He almost felt sad as the car took off, well, he had lived there for as long as he could remember.

They reached the new house and stopped out the front. Christopher exited the car and went across to the bridge that linked the road to his house. This house was not much larger than his other house; maybe it was longer in depth. He couldn’t see from were he was standing.
He looked down at the lake under the bridge; it was flowing and made Christopher feel very calm. He was about to walk away when he thought he saw something move. He turned his attention to where he saw the movement and looked harder. There was a little opened door connected to a wall, with a wooden door small enough to fit a normal garden gnome in it. His father called him over and he forgot about the site. He would check it out later.

"It's fine, Dad! I'm all right," said Dawn, getting back on her feet. But it seemed that Simon Turner wouldn't give up on the job at hand. He fussed about her just like her mother would. "I'm fine, Dad! Honestly, I'll be ok. I just got a bit scared, that's all ..." After reassuring him that she would get some sleep, he left her room to her own devices and so she climbed back into bed shaking ever so slightly. Her hands were shaking, she felt extremely cold in her warm bed and yet she had never felt so afraid before. Something was happening and she didn't like it at all. Dawn pushed her hair away from her face, so she could see the stormy weather outside. Never in her life had she been so scared of something other than lightning ...

The next morning, Dawn awoke still remembering what had happened. She got in the shower, got dressed into some comfortable clothes and joined her mum and dad at the table in the dining room. She couldn't help fiddling about with her food. Last night was still replaying over and over in her mind. If only she had said something to her dad, then maybe she wouldn't be in this state right now. After having her breakfast, Dawn proceeded to the back garden to play some netball to take things off her mind. But she knew that her mother was watching her. Elizabeth Turner was somewhat of a role model for Dawn having being able to understand most, if not all, the things she was going through. Dawn kept on shooting into the net, however, trying to get through this alone.

As the young woman was holding onto the motorcycle driver, he kept sexualy harassing her. "Stop!" She yelled out as she pushed his hands off. "Come on baby." He said. "I said stop!" She yelled again. "Look here!" The man said as he grabbed her arm. Then out of no where, she punched him between the eyes and kicked him. She jumped up front to take control and watched the man fall to his death.

It was still raining as she she stood in front of a clothing store. As she walked in a laser scanned her eyes. "Welcome back Siri Raziel." The speaker over the door said. "Siri...." She said to herself. As she tought of her name, she shopped around looking for an outfit.

It was still raining as Siri walked out side; she covered up by putting on a large coat. "I'm so lost." Siri said as she got onto the motorcycle. "Stop right there, in the name of Deemo!" A man yelled behind Siri, as he was sitting on a motorcycle, along with four others. Siri looked back and was starttled, so she took off as fast as she could. The men chased her through traffic, Siri paniced and looked back, but right when she looked back in front of her, a wall was in her path. It was to late for her stop or turn with out crashing into the wall. "AH!" Siri screamed as she closed her eyes. A Black hole appeared in front and took her in. Siri opened her eyes to see she was some where else, but she was still going so fast; she started to skid on the floor, casuing her fall off and crash into bushes, making her unconcious. The motorcycle kept on skidding, and another black hole came up and the motorcycle went into it. There she was, passed out in bushes, as rain continued to land on her body.

Taylor was fine, no major damage done by the crash, but shaken all the same. When she was allowed to leave the hospital, she found her sports car in the parking lot, perfect. "But i crashed! How's it fine?" She searched around the lot, looking for her car, or maybe some hidden cameras, but it was her car, and it was in tip top condition.

She drove home carefully, still creeped out by the appearance of her car. When she got home, she found a note from her parents, saying they were out of town for the next 3-4 days for a business trip. "Well, they dont need to know about my trip to the hospital then." She mumbled to herself, happy for a little privacy. That night, she had a party. What else does a teenager do when their parents are gone with the house to themselves? About 100 of her friends from school had shown up, and the party was still growing.

She held her drink in her left hand, bobbing around from group to group, gossiping and flirting. She walked around her living room, searching for somebody to talk to, when she saw the girl. In the corner, a small, dirty 5 year old sat huddling, gripping her arms around her knees. Puzzled, Taylor went over to her.

"Hello. How did you get here?" She asked the girl. The girl looked up, her eyes glowing a shocking color of red. The rift has found you. You can't hide now. The voice came from the little girl, but it was old and raspy, like it belonged to an ancient woman. It wont stop. The rift has come for us all. Taylor could only stare, mouth slightly agape. "The Rift? Whats the-" She stopped and looked behind her as the sound of breaking glass silenced the party. A vase had fallen from the table, and when Taylor turned back around, the girl was gone.

As the rain pounded heavily on the ground, a tall dark clothed figure walked along a deserted road. Continuing to walk, with a vacant look on his face, the man suddenly stopped walking as he heard a screeching noise from behind him.

Turning, he watched as a person on a bike appeared out of nowhere, before the person was flung from the bike and into some bushes.
The bike continued to come towards him, until a large black hole appeared, swallowing the bike whole.

These turn of events didn't change the look on his face though, and just simply walked towards the person in the bushes.
Once he got there, he saw that it was a girl that was on the bike, and that she was already unconscious. Bending down the man picked the girl up, and started walking down the road once again, for anywhere with shelter.

“Zoneo! We are the strength that keeps this universe safe from vile fiends such as yourself. We halted your plans before and the result shall be the same.” A silhouette of a being with sword blades as horns stood up from his throne and said “That might of have been true, but I found a way to avoid defeat. Watch as I rid myself of you do-gooders forever. AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!” The being pointed his right pointer finger up into the sky and created a dimensional rift. “Now, all the pests in this universe will be scattered through other universes. You will all be lost and unable to return. Good bye fools. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!” The silhouette vanishes and all the strongest people in the universe are sucked into the rift.

Daiod wakes up from the dream and finds himself sleeping under a tree in a forest. He dusts himself off and heads into town. While heading there, it begins to rain and he takes out an umbrella. “Hmmm, I was hoping for a sunny day but oh well. Now, what should I be doing? Stuck in a universe deprived of magical phenomena. Zoneo will pay for his treachery.” Daiod walks into a hardware store and heads to the back. He places an apron, goggles and gloves and waves to his manager. The manager waves back and continues to review some inventory. Daiod grabs supplies and organizes them on to many shelves.
