Slief walked on ahead, clearly intrigued by what she had said about Shuyin. Alex stooped down and helped her up, his eyes catching a hint of something shiny. Her mind was finally at ease knowing that Alex was alive and fine...but how could that be? He fell about a hundred feet from what Sonara could tell, and yet he was unscathed.

"Alex," She said as they trailed along behind Slief. "Are you ok? You fell...a long ways. Are you hurt or anything? Because if you are-" She stopped short as they turned around a corner to see Slief plowing his way through a horde of fiends. She grabbed Alexs arm and pulled him along to catch up with Slief.

"Julia!" She said aloud. "Are you ok?" She called behind her as Julia trailed along. She saw Slief enter the elevator and head down. She turned back to Alex and motioned towards the elevator.

"My dear boy," said Naruma looking as Slief with a darkened gaze. "There are a lot things you don't know isn't there. obviously, intelligence isn't one of the traits you have," Said Naruma taking another draw from his cigarette, Blowing smoke around the area. He stood up, "Let me simplify it for you. I work for Shuyin now." He took a step closer to Slief. "There is nothing that you fools can do to stop my master from destroying Spira.

Naruma looked past Slief and at the elevator that had started descending again. "Ah, It seems the rest of my quarry has arrived." A sinister smile flashed across his face, He held up the half-finished smoke in his hand. "You have until I finish this smoke to impress me." He stood ready, His sword undrawn. If he had gauged his opponent well. He wouldn't need his sword at all really.

"I need to sit down. You guys go on ahead." said Julia sitting down on the staircase the lead into the trials. "I'll catch up later."

"You have until I finish this smoke to impress me." As Naruma said this, a small grin just appeared on Sleifs face for a moment before disappearing.
"Impress? My dear boy, I believe you, are the one who needs to impress me!" Sleif said before turning away from Naruma, and walking back across the area.

"I have work to do! And I don't have time to play with children!" said Sleif as he got farther away from Naruma.

Naruma snapped his fingers and a barrier stopped Slief from leaving. "I prepared for this enevitability.The only way to destroy the barrier is to either kill me or I decide to deactivate it. Slief you can't escape me forever." Said Naruma. The cigarette was at it's stubb. "Im finished my smoke. You didn't impress me Slief." Naruma's hand swung back. clasping the handle of his Katana. The smoke was flicked away in his other hand and he moved instantly. So that he was in front of Slief. Blocking his exit. The other two were caught inside the Barrier as well. They were standing behind Naruma, He paid them no mind to them. But he probably should have.

"Slief. This is the end of the line for you. I wish it not for your life to end like this.... I'll give you one final chance. Join us. Or lose everything." Naruma held out his hand. As if expecting a handshake from Slief.

"Slief. This is the end of the line for you. I wish it not for your life to end like this.... I'll give you one final chance. Join us. Or lose everything." Sleif heard Naruma say to him, while stretching his hand out, for a handshake of some sorts.

"Sure!" Sleif said. "But first, I have to check something out!" With that he walked past Alex and Sonara, at the moment he passed Sonara, he looked into her eyes with apology, before moving towards the cracked statue of the final aeon.
Kneeling down, he placed his right hand upon the glass, causing it to violently glow and shake. Back in the previous area, with Naruma and the others, a large pair of ancient doors shook the very area, as they opened.

The elevator had taken her and Alex down into a large barren room, except for a cracked statue. They had walked in on a confrintation between Slief and Naruma. Sonaras eyes instantly flashed at the sight of him, his head enveloped in a casket of smoke from his cigarette. "Come on." She whispered to Alex, motioning for them to sneak up behind the occupied Naruma. As they silently moved, a barrier was put up, preventing them from leaving.

"Slief. This is the end of the line for you. I wish it not for your life to end like this.... I'll give you one final chance. Join us. Or lose everything." Naruma's voice gave a soft echo in the room as he stared intently at Slief.

"Sure! But first, I have to check something out!" Slief replied, and he walked past her and Alex towards the rubbled statue of the final aeon. His eyes were sad, like he was rgretting something, and as he touched the glass, a door opened in the room.

"What is that?" She asked Alex, not taking her flashing eyes away from Naruma.

Alex never replied. Instead, he glared at Namura. He knew of the the rumbling of the ground, but he had wanted to kill this person since he first saw him. He had been beaten twice. But that was before the Fiend part of him reappeared. Then he realized Sonara was with him. He felt his hand change. He was becoming Feral again. He winced in pain as he fought it. He managed to prevent it from taking over his whole body, except his arm. Quickly, he hid it behind his sleeve, hoping Sonara wouldn't see. And Namura... when Sonara wasn't looking, he would use it to destroy him. He was skilled with a power he had never seen before. But, now, so was Alex.

As the glow on the statue started to fade away, the rubbling also began to calm. Standing up from it, Sleif turned and walked back into the room with the others.
As he walked past Alex and Sonara, he noticed that Alex was hiding his arm behind his sleeve.

"He has to learn to control it!" Sleif thought to himself, as he walked past them, and moved towards the ancient open doors.

"Slief." Sonara said as she moved in front of him. "Do you know what you're doing? You cant possibly trust him..." She stared coldy in Narumas direction, then to the doors. They emitted a strage glow, a calming peaceful glow. She moved out of his way and went and stood back by Alex. As she moved back to Alex, she saw that one of his arms was being hidden behind his sleeve. She leaned over slightly, trying to get a better look without giving herself away.

"Alex, is something wrong with your arm? If there is..." She said, staring into his crimson eyes. "You know you can trust me Alex." She desperately wanted to know what he was hiding, but she knew that if he trusted her, he would tell her on his own. She brought her attention back to Naruma and the open doors. Her hazel eyes flashed golden, and anger overcame her. She wanted revenge. She un sheathed her blade, which glowed white hot as if it had just been wrought in fire.

"Naruma, who were your friends that were so gracious as to kidnap me? And why bother in the first place?" She asked him, rage building in every word spoken.

Naruma smiled at the girl as she unsheath her sword and stared at him with a burning passion of anger. "My dear girl. Why would I waste my breath telling you, when you'll just forget it a moment later." Said Naruma. "But I guess you won't listen to me." he said sympatheticly. "So come at me when your ready.. I'll even give myself a handicap. I won't use my sword." Naruma turned to face the girl. His yellow eyes burning it's very image into the pit of her soul. "As long as fiend boy here doesn't have a problem with it?" Questioned Naruma.

Sleif turned slightly back, as he heard Naruma say that he would fight Sonara. Turning back towards the door, Sleif walked through the intense light radiating from it, and at that moment appeared in a rather huge circular room.

Completely surrounding the walls, were many Fayth statues, and located in the center was a humongous glass structure with a giant fayth.
"So the book was right!" Sleif said to himself, as he knelt in front of the huge statue. A second later, a ghostly figure of a woman seemed to rise from the statue.

"I know why you have come here. And you shall have your gift!" the fayth said as she held her hand out to Sleif, from which he had his hand.
Another intense light occurred between the two, and once it faded away, the fayth spoke one last time.

"You may have any one of these that you wish! They are all quite powerful, much more so then the final, but with my gift, you can control them! Until the next time we meet, Sleif!" with that, the Fayth faded back into her statue, allowing Sleif to search for his gift.

"Let's try this one!" Sleif said as he placed the same hand upon one of the Fayth statues lining the wall, gaining another intense light.
As it faded away, Sleif felt somewhat different, much more powerful then he previously was. With a slight grin, he turned back to were he came in, and walked back through the light, and into the area once again. As he came back, the doors behind him, abruptly closed with a large boom, and no sign of their existence was there

"Fiend boy? But there's no-" She stopped short, thinking before she said anymore. She turned to Alex, a troubled look on her face.

"Alex, do you know what he's talking about?" She said suspisciously, staring at the arm he hid. She turned again to face Naruma, keeping her blade ready.

Will he keep up his end? I dont trust him at all, he could pull out a weapon! She thought as an image of Naruma passed through her head. She got into a battle stance, waiting for the oppertune moment to strike.

"I'm sorry Sonara." he sighed, ripping off his sleeve, revealing the arm. He stepped forward, the fiend hand clenched tightly. Sonara stared in shock at his arm. He dropped his head so he could see the floor.
"Namura..." he said, still looking down at the ground, and then his head jumped back up, anger echoing from his face, "What is it you hope to achieve by battling us!?". The hand jolted with thunder. He ran forward, with the hand in front and with no sword.
"WHAT ARE YOU REALLY AFTER!?" and he used his arm to slice at Namura.

A hand extended outwards towards him, lightning fast. A calm hand was raised, Lightning echoed around the room, Alex met Naruma in the center of the room. Naruma blocked the boy with his hand. He smiled serenely at him. Using the momemtum that Alex had built up, he pushed his foot forward and casually flicked Alex over onto his back. "Temper, Temper," The lightning arced around the room. Naruma's hand was still gripping Alex's closed fist. Naruma put a crushing force on it. "See, I held up my end. I didn't use a sword. Did I?" He said looking at Sonara. His eyes flashing across her face.

He dragged his arm around in an arc and threw Alex towards Sonara. He skidded along the floor. Like a rock skipping across a lake surface. "My master wishes to test you to see if you would be an adequate host for Sin... He can only keep up the summon for a short time. He needs something to act as the host for it. To keep it alive."

Sonara stared at Alex's arm in horror. "You're a fiend? And you didnt say anything?!?! And I even started to..." She stopped, her mouth twisted into a snarl. How can this be happening? He never showed any signs of anything! The thought raced angrily through her mind, and she clenched her weapon even tighter.

"My master wishes to test you to see if you would be an adequate host for Sin... He can only keep up the summon for a short time. He needs something to act as the host for it. To keep it alive."
Naruma said smugly as Alex hurdled towards her. The fire in her veins pulsed through out her, her anger growing out of control. As much as she disliked Alex for not telling her, she couldnt truly hate him.

"Your not getting anyone for a host!" She shouted to Naruma as she charged him, blade drawn and inner fire burning. She let loose a quick combo, anger fueling every jab, hoping that Naruma would feel the rage in her attack.
