The Lost War and Heart: Finding Hope and Courage to Fight [Original]

Kiran looked at the little rock in his hand. "Kind of wished it was that easy." He dropped the rock and looked up to see Sylfae preparing her next attack. Sylfae threw her scythe at Kiran which was closely followed by a "Barrage of Wind" jutsu.

Kiran needed to calm down. He did not like the idea of fighting another clan member like this. He took a deep breath and looked at the attacked that were demolishing in their path. With a little smirk he said, "Well done on following your attack up so close to one another." With that he made his first hand sign.

"Updraft Jutsu!" A strong force of wind came up from under the scythe and caused it to fly over Kiran. Kiran felt the strong chakra the was in that attack. Kiran failed to dodge the attack fully and go a little cut up from the attack. He immediately spun into his second jutsu. He quickly saw the direction Sylfae's jutsu was spinning. "Vortex Jutsu!!" He created a tornado that was spinning in the opposite direction of Sylfae's tornado. When they hit, they canceled each other out. As the wind started to die down, Kiran jumped through where the tornadoes had hit. His hands in half circle shape, he clamped them together.

"Wind Prison Jutsu!" Wind on all sides of Sylfae blew toward her. Wind Prison jutsu involved all the wind around an opponent to blow inward to the opponent All the wind was evenly spread and would blow strong enough to hold the opponent in place.

"That should hold her!" Kiran muttered as he came landed a few feet form Sylfae.

"Damn!" Sylfae shouted as Kiran performed his Wind Prison Jutsu. Sylfae leaped back, trying to escape, but was knocked down by the winds around her.

She glared at him, her eyes shining with hatred. "Curse you Kiran! You have to be all high and mighty don't you?! All of the Wind Clan is! Even though you are all weak! Weak! We are all weak, and yet, you still have the ability to be arrogant!"

"That'll be your downfall." She finished, suddenly calm. She smiled. "You overlooked something, Kiran-san!!"

Her scythe, blown away by Kiran's Updraft, spun in a arc behind Kiran, and shot straight back towards Sylfae, cutting through the Prison. Without pause, Sylfea caught it and spun around, catching Kiran with a solid hit. Only enough to knock him back, though, and to prevent him from using another Jutsu.

Sylfae jumped back, landing on a nearby tree with a neat backflip. "Don't think I'm done with the Wind Clan. I'll be returning... and that'll be with another Clan behind me."

She casually tossed the Ocean Box onto the grassy clearing.
"Have it. Its the best you can do. And tell Albireo that I'll personally come and rip out his arrogant face." She spun around to walk away, and vanished in the air.

OOC: No hard feelings please! Your both cool, I just wanted to play the bad guy for once XD

"Well, your clan has helped mine out plenty of times in the past. You know the Wind Clan isn't the strongest clan...but we do all we can."

She knew what most villages thought when Wind Clan was mentioned. Look around at the peaceful village The streets were lined with cherry blossoms, which were near bloom, and the village square was filled with little shops and food carts. Frowning knowing she was putting them at risk, she listened as Albireo went on as they passed a fountain, "So, what is the current situation of your clan? The Darkness Clan hasn't attacked yet has it? I can send out a few of my squads by today's end if need be."

She fell silent until they reached the square of the village. Moving around the myriad of stuff to the table that was underneath the shade of a tree, stopping she watched as he pulled out a chair for her and asked, "Ah, this is much better than that stuffy room isn't it?"

Sitting down she nodded in agreement to his previous statement. Drifting into her thoughts she jumped slightly as Al questioned, "Now, where were we?"

"I really can't remember."

Following him up the steps that led to dojo she stopped a few steps down as Ryohei started, "Well, if you really want to know..."

Lifting her own gaze to the rose-painted sky she listened as he finished, "I frankly don't care about the war. It just means more fights for me to handle. Let's just say. . . I treat the fights as a simple training session."

Startled she glanced at him and asked: Is that really[all you see in war?

Ryohei felt that certain vibe, wondering why this ninja was so curious of finding out his views about the war that had been going on some time now. Sure, he may be sounding rather cold and heartless but this was the truth and the expert was going to stand by what he was telling her no matter how harsh it may sound to those who listen.

"Yes, that's exactly how I see the war as and nothing more." he replied to the ninja. "Harsh is the term you might be thinking at the moment but this is how I view the war. Sure, lives of the clan members may be lost in the process and duration of the war but so be it. That will not bring me down at all. Simply forget those who had died and move on." Ryohei added afterwards. "I just realized. . . I never got the chance to find out your name. . ."

Kiran watched has Sylfae ranted. "I am glad thats over...." Kiran couldnt finished what he was saying.


"You overlooked something, Kiran-san!!"

Kiran sw the scythe fly by him in the Sylfae's hand. "Crap!!" Kiran said. Sylfae spinning, landed a direct hit on Kiran, but do his fast reactions by conjuring wind so somewhat cushion the blow, was blown back with nothing but a little cut in his clothes. Kiran just watched Sylfae jump into the tree.

"Don't think I'm done with the Wind Clan. I'll be returning... and that'll be with another Clan behind me."

Kiran was sort of relieved when he saw Sylfae drop the Ocean Box. Sylfae then turned and vanished. Kiran was a little battered after the fight. "Man, i was lucky she decided to fight me." Kiran knew much of the clan was weak, like what she was ranting about. "I don't many others could take her one on one." Kira sighed. Kiran was above the norm by far for the Wind Clan. Kiran has fought par with Darkness Clan Experts, but he was pulling out all the stops on them.

He grabbed the box and then he remembered something. That man chakra disappeared some where in the middle of the battle. He looked around closely at all the trees. " I guess I could find him if he is hiding, but I need to get back to Alberio!" With that, he vanished into the wind.


He reformed in front of Alberio with his guest. Alberio would probably notice some of the cuts on Kiran's clothes. Kiran bowed, and presented the box.

"I really can't remember."

The younger Leader laughed lightly, "Daydreaming now? I can't blame you. Our village square may seem busy, but it can be quite relaxing." Among the leaders of the Clans Albireo was slightly different. He was mostly known for his relaxed and easygoing nature. But that didn't mean he slacked off with his Leader duties (well...most of the time hehe). His clan and its citizens were extremely important to him and he would do anything to protect them. "Well...on a more serious note," though he didn't sound quite serious, "What exactly does your clan require? We have plenty of Ninja not on missions. I think we have some medical units available as well. Most of our Experts are on missions...though once Kiran is back I can send hi-" He was cut off just as Kiran himself appeared, holding the box.

"No need to be so formal Kiran," Al said with a gentle smile, "River this is Kiran, one of our top Experts. Kiran this is my friend River from the Moon Clan..." His words trailed off as he took the box from Kiran's hands. The gentle smile turned to a frown as he realized that Kiran was back rather soon and covered in cuts. "I know this was a rather simple mission...but at earliest you should of been back by dawn tomorrow. Did something happen on the way?"

Zal tried to cope up with their discussion. Though he was bit addled and he just listened to their conversation instead of taking part of it. He noted several points and questions that were exchanged by Kira and the physique ninja. The other ninja who said Ryohei was silent was seemingly wrong.

Is that really all you see in war? commented Kira. Zal also asked himself that question. He had never actually care for the war. The only thing occupying his mind was passing a test. Nonetheless, he was still determined to pass even if it meant ending the war as the obstacle. He listened to the further comments of the ninja.

Sure, lives of the clan members may be lost in the process and duration of the war but so be it. That will not bring me down at all. Simply forget those who had died and move on. I just realized. . . Zal was a bit disturbed by the comment but he understood that one was always be prepared for anything in war. Though he felt that telling Kira's name to the ninja would be an unwise decision, he just stood there with his arms crossing his chest, waiting for what would unfold from this conversation.

Sylfae waited until she was sure Kiran was gone, and then collapsed to the ground, breathing hard. As sad as it was, she wasn't used to this much fighting. All the other students at the Wind Clan training grounds were weak, and obviously couldn't put up much of a fight. It took one, at maximum two, Jutsu's to take them out.
She had used three against Kiran, and still got away only by luck...

She would need to train harder. The Darkness Clan would most likely be a good source of ninjas to train with. After all, they were at the forefront of the war. That was another reason she wished to join them.

Anyways... Sleif was an old friend. She should be accepted. And if she wasn't... no matter. Anyone foolish to object would be silenced.

Alberio took the box from Kiran. Kiran watched his happy face turn to a concerned face.

"I know this was a rather simple mission...but at earliest you should of been back by dawn tomorrow. Did something happen on the way?"

Kiran paused for a moment. "Well, there was... an interruption" Kiran started off. "Sylfae apparently knew about my mission and decided to go complete it. I met her halfway between here and the Ocean's Clan. She turned hostile and attacked me. It was a short battle, but she easily has the skills of a well developed ninja. Sadly, she got away, but did leave the box. Sylfae is off to find a stronger clan." Kiran stared at the ground as he said all this. " I should of stopped her sir, but I did not want to hurt her." Kiran slowly raised his head to meet Alberio's eyes.

"My, you've grown quite strong since the last time I've seen you!" a loud voice seemed to resonate around Sylfae as she rested.
Suddenly from the darkness, a powerful force of chakra erupted, as Sleif instantly appeared. "I watched the battle!" Sleif said as he began to walk towards Sylfae.

[Akans]

Sylfae grinned at Sleif. There was no laughter in her face though.

"It wasn't too bad. The Wind Clan has been declining for the last few years. I made it out before it collapsed completely. It is still neutral in this war though. I find that hard to understand..."

She got up and brushed the leftover dust from her clothes, and started off in the direction of the Darkness Clan.
"Let's go. I wish to see how strong the Dark Ninjas are compared to the Wind Clan. I heard a rumor that the Darkness Clan was going to attack the Wind Clan. Is that so?"

"Well, if it is, then I need to start training immediately. I want to wipe that grin off Kiran's face next time I see him."

[Skitty Cat]

A soft grin coming to her face, she nodded her head, a flush of embarassment creeping up her cheeks. "Ye ---- Yes sir."

She noticed that unlike the other leaders he was relaxed and easy-going, as if nothing could come around that'd make him become serious. Giggling as he stated in an unserious manner, "Well...on a more serious note."

Shaking her head, River said in an apologtic tone in between giggles, "I'm sorry Al, but I find it extremely hard to imagine you serious!"

Getting her act togther she listened as he continued, "What exactly does your clan require? We have plenty of Ninja not on missions. I think we have some medical units available as well. Most of our Experts are on missions...though once Kiran is back I can send hi-"

Jumping from surprise at the new arrival, she glanced at the boy; taking in his features. Nodding her head she commented, "I saw you on my way in."

"No need to be so formal Kiran," Al said with a gentle smile.

Amazed that he could be this way, she stared at him as a thought crossed her mind, smiling politely as he added, "River this is Kiran, one of our top Experts. Kiran this is my friend River from the Moon Clan..."

"Nice to meet you Kiran."

Listening to the exchange, she found it quite weird, looking up at the expert she listened as he apologized, "I should of stopped her sir, but I did not want to hurt her."

"Hmm, do you care about her?" she asked suddenly. Remembering the question from earlier she added, "As for the Clan, I believe we'll be fine for a few hours.... or maybe not."

River frowned as she felt that tug; somethng wasn't right in the clans, they were unbalanced.

Nodding her head in agreement, the boy made sense with what he said; no matter how cruel it was. Meeting his gaze she replied: Kira.

Knowing that Zal was concerned about this, she shrugged her shoulders dimissing it, but froze when Kira felt the same dark, sinster wave from earlier. Her gaze flashing with fire for a moment, it died down almost as soon as it started. So, Ryohei, what is your mentor's opinion?

She decided she'd break it soon about why she'd come.

"Let's go. I wish to see how strong the Dark Ninjas are compared to the Wind Clan. I heard a rumor that the Darkness Clan was going to attack the Wind Clan. Is that so?" Upon hearing that, a small grin appeared on Sleifs face. "Maybe, maybe not!" Ssleif said as they continued walk through the dense forest.

"Well, if it is, then I need to start training immediately. I want to wipe that grin off Kiran's face next time I see him." "That you will, I'm sure of that!" Sleif said, just as the two of them arrived at Clan of Darkness.
As they entered its great halls, Sleif left Sylfae's side for a second, saying something about not to raise an alarms about her.

At the moment he left, a small group of warriors, lunged from the shadows, in all directions towards Sylfae.

"I can be the one to answer that." a voice called out, Zeke pulling the sliding door of the dojo to the side. He stepped out of the dojo and proceeded to walk down the wooden steps in front of it before stopping in front of the two young ninjas. A chuckle was the only thing that could be heard, belonging to none other than the mentor himself as he looked over a the feminine ninja, who identified herself to be Kira.

"Kira is it? Well, if you really want to know," Zeke said as he got down straight to the point. "my views of the war is actually the opposite of Ryohei here. I believe it's pointless and should end immediately. What good is it for? So that dozens - no, hundreds of lives are being put to an end meanwhile most of the casualties are those of innocent civilians?" Zeke walked in between the two teenagers and over to the top of the concrete steps, overlooking the village below. "You two may not see it the way I do, or are too young too even understand it but sometimes I just wished for it to end. Then, all of our villages would be able to finally live happily and safe, without having to worry about there being any danger. But sadly. . . all of our great leaders proceed to add onto the war itself, thus making it grow worse. . ." explained Ryohei's mentor who turned around and walked into the dojo.

"That's what I think about it. . ." he whispered and pulled the sliding door so that it closed the entrance of the dojo.

Ryohei simply stood there, becoming quiet upon hearing his mentor's words. He had never seen the war like that, ever. It seemed that the war had a major impact on even the toughest of warriors such as Zeke and yet, Ryohei never bothered to see it the way that he did nor did he ever asked him about it.

Wanting to kick herself since she couldn't speak, Kira stared helplessly after him. Watching Zeke retreat back into the dojo, she listened as he finished, "That's what I think about it. . ."

Looking at Ryohei curious to know if he had ever asked, it was slightly surprising what she saw there, Kira glanced away for a moment than shifted it back. What was there now could have possible shocked Zeke himself. I know where your mentor is coming from, Ryohei, he does have a good point. Maybe we shouldn't help one another to end this war, if so... than I guess my trip here was pointless. But it was very nice meeting you.
