| rendez-vous à l'horloge, 1992. | Sup. Alright, so I have a bunch of stuff to do & I know that classical music is proven to stimulate the brain and to make concentrating much better, but there are some classical songs that actually hinder me more than help me. So I was wondering if you guys could give me some classical/orchestral recommendations that will help me be relaxed and will help me concentrate better? Something that will stimulate my creative juices so to speak? If you could, I'd be grateful. |

Also general game soundtracks include orchestral pieces, such as Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy. I do like Hans Zimmer's music though, he does pieces for Pirates of the caribbean, Lion King and Gladiator. Just what i think is good, but have a look around on youtube or something and find something you like ^^ |

| Dial 'M' for 'Motherfucker' | Whoever said classical music especially stimulates your brain is probably talking shit. I'm sure it's different for different people. But if you're going to listen to classical, make it minimalism (Steve Reich, Philip Glass, La Monte Young, Terry Riley, etc.). I recommend Steve Reich's 'Music for 18 Musicians' especially. If minimalism is too... repetitive... I recommend Gyorgy Ligeti, an avant garde composer. Very atmospheric for the most part and real scary at some points. Godspeed You! Black Emperor's 'Lift Your Skinny Fists...', despite the fact that it is loved by indiefags for some reason, is pretty much just classical music dominated by field recordings, including a preacher, a reminiscent old man and French schoolchildren. It has the odd guitar part, but mostly it's classical sounding. |

| Divinido Le Aesthetico | Tight Like Amy has a pretty good point. Pretty much if you want a taste of classical, you don't have to look much further than video game soundtracks. |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() Level: EXP: | There is this one song from The Time Machine soundtrack that is very soothing, its called Eloi by Klaus Badelt. Also try Aisha Duo they have a couple songs you might be interesting for you. And Origa's "Inner Universe" which is the theme from Ghost in the Shell. |
