| Act I, Scene IV: Beyond This Life | Couldn't find the old thread, so yeah. I bought 'Black Holes And Revelations' earlier today and am loving every minute of it. Map of the Problematique is a big stand-out song to me, even though Bellamy's voice seems to drone. Thoughts? Opinions? |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() Level: 21 EXP: | Ahh, Muse, the infamous stepping stone from Coldplay to Radiohead. They're good when they don't try to be anything more than stadium filling, technically talented musicians (see Origin of Symmetry), but shit hits the fan when they try to get artistic and 'spread their wings' (see Black Holes & Revelations. Invincible and Nights of Cydonia? wtf?). Bellamy also writes some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard. That being said, like all stadium bands they are amazing live. Totally different experience than hearing them on record. And jesus, when they're at their peak, they really can write some badass shit. |

| Act I, Scene IV: Beyond This Life | I probably should've started with Origin of Symmetry. Oh well. And yes, they are amazing live. H.A.A.R.P.<3 |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() Level: 21 EXP: | I don't mean HAARP, I mean actually standing in a crowd of 10,000+ people, being doused in a light show bright enough to light the entire Chicago skyline, and being knocked flat by music louder and more powerful than three people should ever be able to make. It's a shame they'll never be able to capture that on an album, though :\ |

| Act I, Scene IV: Beyond This Life | Ah, I see. HAARP is the closest I've heard, sadly. |

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Level: 39 EXP: | I've only ever listened to their work on YouTube; decent, unique in a "done before" sort of way, but Knights Of Cydonia failed to impress me as much as it should have. Plug In Baby, meh, the riff didn't do it for me, still slightly appealing. Overall, I've no strong love/hatred for them. |

I remember when I used to be obsessed with them, but that's kinda gone away for the most part. After having not listened to them since the summer, I listened to all of their albums a couple weeks back and didn't seem to like them quite as much as I remember. Quote:
As for their music, we seem to differ a bit. I really only liked about half of Origin of Symmetry and actually really like Invincible, Knights of Cydonia and Glorious. Actually, Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations are probably my favorite albums of theirs (along with HAARP if we want to count it as well) and Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry are kinda so-so, although they have some tracks I do really like as well. Anyway, they need to get to work on the new album. I recall reading that they wanted to get a symphony orchestra for it, which would be fucking amazing if they did. | ||

| Own Up | black holes and revelations stands out as their best album for me. showbiz and hullabaloo were listenable at best, orgins had some great tracks yet not enough. and absolution wasnt quiteabsolute. |

| Kuro no Keiyakusha | As far as the live part of Hullabaloo is concerned, I didn't like it much at all. The first disk is alright though, but nothing great. |

| Member | Meh. Muse is pretty good, but they are not OMGAWSUM. If you want OMGAWSUM, look up Sonata Arctica. Even though Knights of Cydonia is so catchy... |
