Currently playing: monopoly with my soul. | 恋空. (Koizora, Sky of Love.) 恋空 Koizora (Sky of Love) Probably one of the only movies that will make you cry like a bitch at a funeral on her period knowing there's no ice cream at home. That badly. Any way. Koizora is Japanese film from Japanese director Natsuki Imai, based upon the true story of Mika, a girl to whom all the events actually happened, and who wrote about her ordeal in a cell-phone novel. The novel had over 25 million subscribers worldwide, before being made into a novel, a movie in 2007 and a drama in 2008. Koizora the movie has won four awards (Blue Ribbon award 2008 - Yui Aragaki for best actress; Readers' Choice award 2008 - best film; Nikkan Sports Film award 2007 - Yui Aragaki for best talent; Festival Prize 2008 - Yui Aragaki for best talent) and continues to shine as a beautifully tearjerking movie of the drama and romance genres.
Koizora is the tale of the life of a normal highschool girl, Mika, who experiences many unbelievably sad events, but through it all proving that love conquers all. Not only does it simply portray the first love of the highschoolers, it shows the warmth from the family, the importance of life, the bonds with friends, and the common happenings of teens, and through it all Mika and Hiro's love story gets unwound. |
