| ⎳ΣGΣNDΛRΨ | Well, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by independent... I'm guessing by independent you mean not part of big companies like Universal, Village or Warner Brothers. Well, Princess Mononoke, an anime, for one. |

| Dial 'M' for 'Motherfucker' | Oh, look a good thread in the movies section for once. I like C.R.A.Z.Y., Eraserhead, In Bruges, Persepolis, Le Grande Voyage, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Santa Sangre, Donnie Darko and Little Miss Sunshine to name a few. |

| { No Life/No Death } | oh i love Donnie Darko and little miss sunshine. I had recently watched one that was called Punch-Drunk Love with Adam Sandler. I wouldn't bother with that movie though, it was so strange that i couldn't believe it was really Adam Sandler. Then i like a lot of the Jud Apatow films, and Kevin Smith films. Hotel Rwanda was amazing, that movie nearly put me to tears, and Kill Bill was pretty awesome. Kinda weird, but it's expected from Quentin Tarantino i'll have to look up the rest, you listed cause i've never seen them before |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() Level: 23 EXP: | I got a VHS tape from a friend of mine a while back, it was definitely interesting. I think that it was called the Navidson Record, or something like that. I wish I could find another copy, it was one of the most unsettling films I've ever seen. Has anyone else ever seen it? |

what. How do they become boring? They're just movies that aren't blockbusters.

... So what's the deal with independent films anyway? Why do people prefer them, and how do they noticeably deviate from the mainstream films? I've only seen Little Miss Sunshine, and I REALLY enjoyed its originality.

| Custom User Title | Probably for a couple reasons. In the last couple of years, it's become so trendy for people to be into Indie films that it actually defeats the purpose in a way. They definitely have a different feel to them; the plots tend to be darker and/or stranger. To be completely honest, I'd say 90-95% of them are shit, but every now and then, you'll find a masterpiece. |
