At the very least some of Doctor Who's best music came from S2 so that's something to look forward to and if there is any episode you should skip in S2 it is definitely 'Love and Monsters'. The Doctor only appears for about 5-10 mins of the episode so if you really want to just skip that episode and another one you could probably skip is ep 7 not much happens as I faintly remember. Man I really want to watch some Doctor Who now xD It's payback for Harry Potter being released in the UK before the US for years isn't it? DX
Oh joy! :3 Part of me just wants to skip the dull S2 episodes and only watch the required ones, and then move on to S3. ;w; I agree. That's a horrible decision. D:
Oh yeah Donna is the best companion in all of new who. She and Ten have the best dynamic and she grew the most out of all the companions, plus with Donna you get the introduction of grandpa Wilf who is amazing in his own right. I'll forgive you, but I still hate whoever made the decision to have no midnight shows outside the US :P
Nah, there's a reason I couldn't get through Tennant the first time around. xD And Ten/Rose is almost definitely why. Dx I look forward to Donna though. She looks like loads of fun~ :3 Aww, you can't forgive me for it? ;W;
You never know you might enjoy the series more than I did. Yeah I found Rose to be fine during S1 and even quite liked her but in S2 she just becomes so arrogant, jealous, she treats Mickey horribly, her love story with The Doctor is pushed right into your face and the worst part is that it seeps into The Doctor so in the end they both come across as two big jerks traveling the universe. He comes across much better when he isn't with her. Ok I'm done raging at S2 Rose :P Yeah it does get alot better in series 3 although the Rose worship does annoyingly pop up every once in a while and quality does drop a little for episode 4, 5, 6 and 7 but then it gets right back on track, but you know it's always hit and miss with Doctor Who. Hey at least you'll probably be seeing it before me if you get a midnight ticket xD I really hate you for it as well ;W;
Ah, I see. ;____; Not looking forward to that, then. *sigh* I thought at the time that I didn't like those episodes, so I probably won't if this is the case. I also recall not being overly fond of Rose in what I saw of S2, though I like her in S1 well enough. So is Series 3 onward where Tennant's tenure as the Doctor really takes off in terms of quality? Probably not going to see it in IMAX. I don't think there's any IMAX theater close enough to see it. :c
Er...well for me I find series 2 to be the worst series of Doctor Who. I'll just give you a quick word on what I thought of all the episodes: 1) New Earth - It was fun I liked it 2) Tooth and Claw - Not a fan of this one though it does show Torchwood origin and alot of people seem to like it 3) School reunion - I don't really remember this one but it has Sarah Jane and K9 in it so worth seeing if you are a fan of them 4) The Girl in the Fireplace - Excellent. It's a must see 5) & 6) Rise of Cybermen/Age of Steel - Meh 7) The Idiot's Lanturn - Not good 8) & 9) The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit - Excellent. One of the best two parter stories (also scared the crap outta me when I was younger xD) 10) Love & Monsters - Should never have been created... 11) Fear Her - Not good 12) & 13) Army of Ghosts/Doomsday - Pretty good final So it's pretty much a mixed bag and mostly in the bad side in my opinion but there are some jems in there. I also find series 2 Rose to be absolutely horrible so that didn't help my enjoyment of the series either. Bah no midnight showing here (Or anywhere outside the US...I hate you all so much) :c Oh well I hope you get your tickets :D Are you going for IMAX?
Wonderful! :3 BTW, based off my memory of finding the quality of the first few David Tennant episodes to be a bit subpar, how long does Series Two take to get good? *_* Or will I enjoy them more now that I've watched Series One too? I still need to get advanced tickets as well! :O I definitely hope I can make it the midnight premiere for that film! :D The first time I ever did that was for The Dark Knight back in 2008! :D
Yep you definitely do! I personally find the finale for series one to be one of the better ones. OH and I just advanced booked tickets for The Dark Knight Rises today! A bit early but totally worth it *_*
