Eh, I doubt it hurts to sign up early, I mean, at worst you'll just have to wait for them to have a mentor available, at least you won't miss your chance though.

Exactly, that's where the suicide attempt comes in, his parents are that much more meaningful to him, I'm still thinking of the affects that would have. Plus, more time with Wayne senior being alive means there's a chance for different technology, the timing of everything means a completely different Gotham is possibly, it can make for a really interesting story, I think.
