As Aeleus had been studying the genetic defect that caused her car crash (he did not give it to her) and they were five months pregnant and wanted the child... he did not take it very well. He pretty much shut off all communication and locked himself up in his house. Tina (his sister) had to drag him out.

She's named after Parasite Eve's "Kiyomi" though. (She and Kiyomi follow a similar path, except Naomi is alot more forceful and isn't being controlled by her mitochondria. And Aeleus doesn't try to resurrect her through her DNA/Mitochondria. Anyway, Kiyomi's name is taken from a word for "Christmas Eve" (When she was born) one of the Kanji for that is "Beautiful" and Naomi means "Beautiful" plus they sound similar)
