  1. I'd be satisfied if they actually didn't do anything with her.
Would let me laugh evilly at the faces of all that said we need to wait for KH3 for her to become a proper character.
    ................................
WE'D HAVE TWO GAMES IN WHICH WE SAW HER AND THEY DIDN'T DO SQUAT! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THEY'LL CARE IN THE THIRD GAME WHERE THEY'LL HAVE MORE THAN JUST SORA AND RIKU TO DEAL WITH?!
  2. Anyway, I'm going to go now. I'm tired and I neeed sleep, so I guess I'll see you tommorow (and hopefully, more in the future if I still visit KHI).
  3. Yep, shes just got to find a reason that sets her apart from the other girls without being a plot device or a selfish cow. Villain would be one thing, but eh... it won't happen unless I came in, somehow become an employee and persuade the majority of the employees that Nomura/Nojima is doing a bad job of KH! Nomura would be assign to character design and making tea for me. Nojima will be in a cardboard box, nuff said. But apart from that, Kairi need to be retool a lot or evolved from her two incarnation, being flawed in a likable way and caring more about others.
  4. True that. Which is why I tell everyone that it doesn't matter if in KH3, Kairi's an awesome character, namely, written by Watanabe. It means she's either an extreme villain, or has little to nothing to do with her KH1 and KH2 incarnations (which, sadly, had little to do with each other, if you ask me).
She's effectively a variation of one of the other girls we came to know, being Namine (pure damsel in distress), Xion (the struggling warrior that at least gives a damn so we can somewhat forgive her), or Aqua (being the pure kick ass).
  5. Pretty much, I believe it's quite elitism on her part. It's like saying 'I'm a POH, I cannot stay around with a bad influence such as yourself". Gah, I'm so bent on retooling her to be an excellent character. But eh, it'll be my creation and not canon and that's just a sad thing.
  6. It would certainly tie in with her dissing Riku from day 1 of KH1 though. Being a PoH and one that completely 'fell to the light', she always shunned him, who was Darkness tainted.
  7. Hopefully, I would like to see that. But Sora wouldn't be the villains, because as Mickey explain it, with darkness, there is light and vice-versa. Who knows, but I doubt Sora would succumb to elitism, so he's out of the equation. As for Kairi, well I already kill her off in my fanfic... (in my head). I pretty much made out that Sora's journey was for nothing, considering that she is already dead due to some experiment by a religious cult (yes, I included religious cult into it). I like twist and originallity in my story, so eh.

Kairi being a true villain is wishful thinking, but I love villains >.> So Kairi would stick out as a badly-design one anyway.
  8. Part of why him taking the Keyblade was so important. To show Sora that he couldn't be without Riku. It making him the one to be able to save Kairi later on would also mean that at the end, he was the better friend, so him ditching Sora was "ok", rather than Sora having ditched him. He broke up with Sora first, roar >:O

I actually see a situation like that going down in KH3, but it's either Sora or Kairi that are perceived as the villains. Something along the lines of hunting every last bit of Darkness, with Riku acting as a force in between, knowing that being blinded by the light is just as bad as being swallowed by the Darkness. It might just be reverse on reverse that we go after Riku first, only to find out the true villains were the 'light' and all that.
Here's to hoping Kairi's the true villain :I

I know we see him, but I don't really count that until he joins up in TWTNW.
  9. Oh yeah, I was wrapped up with the idea of not caring for anyone but his precious keyblade. But it's pretty much that Riku know Sora is independent and with the keyblade, know that he can fend for himself and doesn't rely on Sora.

I do agree with what you're saying about Riku's motivation. That's why I prefer him... because of that. And I would like him to be the villain in KH3... well something that he still care for Sora, but he would still go against him because of what he is doing.

More or less towards the events of TWTNW. After the xemnas battle, his personallity shown. Before then, he was underwhelming to say the least imo.
  10. Actually, Riku didn't bring Kairi into this once he saw that Sora didn't care about him. That's what it was all about, in the scene with Maleficent in Traverse Town. Riku even said that Kairi was looking for them, so why should Sora himself care too much about Kairi? It wasn't until Riku thought Sora replaced Riku with Donald and Goofy that Kairi was brought in. When he asked if Sora should care so much about Donald and Goofy and not Kairi, it always seemed more to me like "I KNOW you don't care about ME, but at least care about HER, you jerk".

Other than that, I agree. Riku's motivation in KH1 were amazing. I can still see them popping up from time to time, but if it does, I can see him being more of the bad guy on the side of good, the one guy willing to get his hands dirty if that'll get the job done.
Plus, he has a record and he's the first person refusing to forget it. He just might willingly make it worse.

KH2? We didn't even get to see him in KH2 XD
