PoA isn't about voldemort at all.
=P
it was more of the MWPP era and the relationships that link harry with voldemort.
It answers the initial questions that we have at the beginning of the whole saga,
thus leading us into more questions as we follow the story.

I agree and I think POA helped me understand more of the beginning, considering I was a bit confused. Many people I talk to also say it's thier favorite book but it's actually my third favorite but that's just me.

Yeah, well, I like focusing primarily on Voldemort.

Still, the more interesting ( and frankly, "actiony" ) parts take place because of Voldemort. =]

And are generally associated with the books that mainly revolve around him.

hmm..
i'm all for the emotional bits of the book.
the relationships and friendships that harry form in the book
and the journey itself to me is far more interesting.

I've always found the books a bit hard to put down. This culminates in me spending most of my free time reading them. I read Deathly Hallows in one day. =D

i finished DH in one sitting. i just couldn't put it down.

I had to read Deathly Hallows in two sittings. I remember not being able to start reading it until the evening of its release (had to spend time with family, if I recall, which pissed me off because I was planning to have the whole day set aside for DH). Then, I read it until from like 7:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Then I got to the part where Dobby was killed in Malfoy Manor, and I felt that would be a nice place (a cliffhanger, of sorts) to leave off. Also, I was so tired at that time, I figured that I wouldn't have been able to fully enjoy the ending had I been drifting on and off.

Anyway, my overall favourite was OotP. Next to that comes DH, but I'm not sure of the order after that really.
