I didn't actually read the books I only watched the movies.The reason I didn't read them is cause my brother makes me nutts about it.He mentions the damn thing for like 24/7!!!! It's quite annoying!! And the books are quite expensive,I'm a bit into saving money than wasting them for some childish books.

Now,books like "Mendacity by Larry Liu" are quite good!I'm more into history thingy.

Well I guess it is your choice of whether you like a book or not. Personally I love the books, I think they are great. But you don't have to like them.

The only thing I get so pissed off about is the whole thing about the religous problem. A whole bunch of religous people get so ticked off at J.K. Rowling because she's making books about magic. I mean you have to be seriously dumb if you believe it. I mean all those religou people email her, write her saying they hate her books and to stop writing the books, I mean if someone has that much hatred about a book, then don't read the books. I mean it's that simple, if you don't like it due to religous reasons then don't read them.

Again, I'm not talking about you, I was talking about the religous people who hate Harry Potter for those reason, you just don't like the books :]

wow how could u hate harry potter? i admit the movies are somewhat odd. theyve left out alot of key points. but the books are really good. ive got all the books the last 2 that just been released are realy good b/c theyre getting more into lord voldemort and the deatheaters killing people and stuff. so its alot more interesting as it progresses

I agree completely. Maybe the genre of the book doesn't appeal to all people and maybe thats why you don't like it. But seriously i see it impossible for anyone that likes fantasy fiction not to like harry potter. It has a great storyline that really pulls you into the book. I agree the movies did kinda suck cause they cut alot out. Especially in the 4th movie. They skiped sooo damn much that they have messed it up for the 5th movie.

yea really. cmon. there are so many other books and movies with witchcraft. maybe if youre like a sperchristian and bible thumper u might think theyre evil b/c of the bible saying that sorcery is evil. but who cares. its not like its real or anything and if you actually believe its real then you are really messed up...

Excuse me? LOTR 3 didn't have magic? Hell, it even had necromancy. And I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the Bible says things like raising the dead are wrong.
