Kid Omega's not in the fight (though I hope he will be eventually since he can now make psychic shotguns on top of his other abilities), and some of the X-Men are sided with the Avengers. Wolverine and Beast I saw in the carrier, so I'm sure there are others like Iceman or Rachel Summers (a previous host of the Phoenix) will side with the Avengers as well. There's actually a surprisingly large amount of mutants unaccounted for in this event, so far. Of the remaining 200 mutants, less than 100 are actually in Utopia.

What I'm most curious about is....where is Professor Xavier during all of this? If this ends with him returning as the rightful leader of the X-Men, and laying the smackdown on Scott, I will jump for joy.

It's only three issues and will be finished by the end of this week but I still consider it an event. It is at least for Daredevil and Punisher. Basically, Daredevil has this thing called the Omega Drive. It's an old piece of a Fantastic Four costume and someone's figured out how to store encrypted information on the unstable molecules. The Omega Drive contains every bit of information on AIM, Hydra, and three other organisations. So they've all teamed up to stop him.

Punisher heard about the drive and wants to use it for his ends. Spider-Man got involved and now it's the three of them (plus "Punisherette") against Mega-Crime. They're trying to figure out ways to to take down the organisations in one hit and fast and then destroy the drive. But Frank has been very questionable.

It's Mark Waid and Greg Rucka. Half of the 52 team. So you know it's good.

Doesn't the new issue/arc of American Vampire come out tomorrow? I'm most likely going to pick it up on Free Comic Book Day so I avoid looking like a douche by just going for the free stuff. Might even buy Batman and Robin by Grant Morrison since they're giving away trades to those who spend $20.

I just finished reading Dark Victory, and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. It wasn't quite as great as The Long Halloween, and I wasn't entirely content with the ending because it seemed like the straightforward thing to do, but it was still a great read.

I think Loeb did a great job of making me really appreciate Two-Face not only as a villain, but as a character in general. And I really like how he fleshed out Dick Grayson's relationship with Bruce Wayne. It all came together really well up until the end.

I'll be reading Catwoman's When In Rome next, just to tie together with Dark Victory, but I've got to say, I really don't think Loeb is that bad. To be honest, I'm really psyched to get my hands on Hush.

    >goes to library to get books about liquors and spirits for work
    >comes out with a shit ton of graphic novels

Today was a good day for comic books indeed. I didn't realize my libray stocked graphic novels. I picked up A Death in the Family, The Dark Knight Returns, and The Man Who Laughs.

They also had Arkham Asylum, Batman and Robin Vol 1. by Grant Morrison, and Hush. I was reaaally tempted to pick up Hush, but it's apparently more than one volume and they only had the first one.

Also went and picked up Flash #8 which was another fantastic issue.

i didn't quite love The Man Who Laughs as much as most everyone seems to, but it definitely isn't anything bad.

The most recent Batman and Robin story is second only to Death in the Family, in regards to Robin centric stories. And I think a large part of what makes it so much better is that it came out of a unanimous fan hatred towards Jason Todd.

I finished reading The Man Who Laughs. While it was a good story, I don't think I would purchase this only because it's way too short. I know it's supposed to be a one shot, but I feel like this could have been part of a larger part. It was still a great read though. I found myself using Kevin Conroy's, Mark Hamill, and Bryan Cranston's voices for Batman, Joker, and Gordon. This one shot really exemplified Joker's insanity.

I'm reading through the second story, "Made of Wood", and I'm not really liking it. What is this about an Old Green Lantern that used to patrol Gotham City? What?...

MAN! Who else read Uncanny X-men # 11? I liked it better than the main event (art was better to) goes in depth into why Namor sides with the X-Men and also Colossus's struggle with Juggernaut, and also Hope's feeling and thoughts during that Phoenix flare up at the end of AvX #2.

^ Agreed. Units' last words to Hope gave some better insight on why she rebelled, too. The nail in the coffin, so to speak. I also enjoyed Secret Avengers #26. Seeing Beast/crew preparing for the confrontation with the Phoenix Force was cool, but I really can't wait for the actual attack. We all know they're going to fail to stop it, but I still want to see it.

AVS: VS #1, however....was pretty bullshit. Mangeto vs Iron Man was a good fight, and Magneto's reason for losing was legit. However Namor vs The Thing was straight up...dumb. Even the Hulk would have trouble facing Namor underwater, there's no way Thing should have been able to overpower him (in several times in the past, not even the entire Fantastic Four could beat him under water). :T I'm seriously salty about that fight, I call 100% bullshit on that. Next issue is gonna be Spider-Man vs Colossus and Gambit vs Captain America. Spider-Man has a 50/50 chance, but we all know Gambit's gonna get his ass whooped.

The Flash was pretty good this week, the coming of the Gorillas and their role in the new DCU will be cool, I've been looking forward to seeing Manapul tackling Grodd, an annual based around that would be the tits. Aquaman and American Vampire were just a little disappointing because Aquaman felt short as diddly and American Vampire, tooooo long.

Speaking of which.. what exactly happened to Xavier? I've looked all over and can't find it. Where was he during the events of Schism as well? There's a ton of stuff I'm missing out on here.

Just finished reading A Death in the Family.

Quick question....Did DC have something against the color black at one point? I mean, Batman already looks silly with a navy blue costume....but for Christ's sake... blue hair too? Actually, as I'm flipping through the book now, there's an overabundance of blue.

Anyway, it was an alright book. I probably would have liked it had I not seen Under the Red Hood. I can see why they didn't cover most of this in the movie. The Middle East is still a touchy subject to this day.

I can check off Jason Todd on my Batman related things to read list. Just have to finish reading a Lonely Place of Dying before I can make my way to The Dark Knight Returns.

I honestly have no idea. Until recently, I was under the impression that he was killed by Bishop. But I read on his wiki page that he survived. I didn't read Schism but he doesn't have an entry for it, so I'm guessing he just...wasn't involved. The last thing he was involved in was Second Comic, where he gave a eulogy for Nightcrawler. As of now, his status is a resident of Utopia. Doing nothing and making no appearances.

It was a different time, different sensibilities. But I like the blue costume. :U (and blue is kinda DC's main color)

That makes no diddlying sense. He absolutely would have had to have a part in Schism if he was around. I highly, highly doubt that he would've just sat around and let Wolverine and Cyclops do what they wanted to without some sort of interference. In Prelude to Schism, Xavier talks to Cyclops talking about how he's more ready to lead the X-Men than he ever was. But you'd figure somewhere in the Marvel Universe, we'd get coverage on where exactly the hell he went.
