Read Green Lantern #2 today and I'm really liking Sinestro. The highlight for me would be when Sinestro lectures Hal about how he was never more then a mere superhero to the people of earth, and that he never tried to change anything or unify the planet like Sinestro did for his homeworld (that is debatable of course). And I laughed a little at how Sinestro was pretty much able to make Hal his bitch for the remainder of their partnership.

Also I was thinking of picking up Red Lantern, but since this corp had no animated counterpart I know next to nothing about them. Since Green Lantern got the "soft reboot" I was wondering if it would be worth it for me to get this title even though I don't know anything of what they've done up until this point.

You don't really need to to know much about the Red Lanterns besides that power comes from rage and their leader's name is Atrocitus the rest #1 fills you in on.

GL Corps- I've always kinda liked Isamot, but now he's easily one of my favorite non-human lanterns. I hope he gets through this alive and gets his limbs back.

Wonder Woman- Strife looks really awesome. And it's cool that they kept WW's old origin story to some extent.

Red Hood- The writing was a little sloppy, especially with Jason's one liners. The one he did towards Roy didn't even make sense. But it still wasn't bad, it's kinda growing on me. Seeing Starfire pull off the Lady Gaga look was unexpected but fitting.

Just finished reading The Killing Joke. The guy that Batman was talking to in Arkham Asylum in the beginning of the story wasn't really the Joker, correct? That would explain so much, but it does raise one question. I know Batman was going to talk to the Joker about their relationship, but did he know that the Joker had escaped?

Otherwise, it was a pretty good read. The Joker is one sick bastard. Shooting and crippling Barbara Gordon, taking nude pictures of her, and then showing them back to her father....He's sick. I liked how the guy who Joker killed at the beginning, the one whom he "bought" the carnival from, stayed in the same position with the same facial expression.

I love that Barry is still faster than Clark. After all, Clark has superspeed. Barry IS speed itself. Haven't gotten last weeks comics, but I'm happy with how good Starman was, and Green Lantern is so frustrating!!! I hate Sinestro but he makes such a great green lanternnnnnn

He didn't know until the moment the face paint came off.

Seriously, even though Gordon didn't snap, there's no way he came out of that mentally unscathed. And that "one bad day" monologue is genius.

Does anyone know where I can buy the new Batman graphic novel that bridges Arkham Asylum and Arkham City? In my Gameinformer, they mentioned it and the complete set, but neglected to mention where to purchase it.

There's a thing called a "local comic book store". You should probably check there. If not, check online.

There's a couple of them, actually.

Unrelated, I've been reading the Uncanny X-Force comics recently. Easily some of the best X-related series I've ever read. Love the art, has all but one of my favorite mutants (Nightcrawler needs to come back :C), great stories, presents the horrible state the mutant race is in without ramming it down my throat like the other X-titles, and the amazing art is worth mentioning twice. Just finished the Deathlock story, can't wait to read more. Highly recommend it to any fan of the mutants.

We need some more non-DC discussion in this thread. I know alot of people are getting their feet wet with the new 52, but there's so much more out there.

Edit: And I just noticed Nightcrawler on the cover of one of the new Uncanny X-Force ads. New favorite series.

Amazon.com: Batman: Arkham City (9781401232559): Paul Dini, Carlos D'Anda: Books

I ordered it and the game guide last week.

On Friday my copy of Doctor 13: Architecture and Mortality arrived. Cost me $14 with free shipping. I consider that a bonking steal. It's by the same creative team on Wonder Woman - Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang - and it's funny as all hell. It was released in 2007 so it's getting into the out of print stage. Google it and if it looks interesting to you, pick it up. I loved it.

And thanks to NYCC I'm thoroughly hyped for Secret Avengers. I've gotten series since it started and I'm still getting the Warren Ellis one-shots but the series has been directionless. But Marvel just announced the creative team will change next February with Rick Remender and Gabriel Hardman. More of my thoughts here: At New York Comic-Con last week Marvel announced... - Aimless musings.

I picked up a few issues of Thunderbolts, too. Since it's one of the few remaining $2.99 books at Marvel I thought I'd give it a try. I've made it a rule to not pick up any new $3.99 books from Marvel. So I won't be getting Incredible Hulk or any of the new X-Men series. I'm on the edge of dropping Mighty Thor and Invincible Iron Man. Especially after what's happened in Fear Itself (which was bad), I'm not going to pay $3.99 for a Thor book without Thor.

Batman, Wonder Woman and Supergirl continue to impress me this week. I missed out on a couple books this week such as Blue Beetle, Red Hood and Justice League because Diamond bonked up my stores order. Hopefully they'll come in this week.

I've got Greg Rucka's Question: Pipeline on it's way to me as well, from Book Depository. It was really cheap so again why not. And I just found out that my girlfriend ordered the JMS' Thor Omnibus for me for my birthday so that's coming too. Lucky me.

Other comics I got this week but still need to read include Ultimate Comics Hawkeye #3, Mass Effect: Invasion #1 and the recoloured reprint of X-Men #1 by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee. I'm not an X-Men guy but I'll happily take a look at this considering the omnibus collection of that is coming out soon.

O_O That is a steal! Where'd you buy them? Amazon forces you to spend $25 for free shipping. That's why I decided to buy The Killing Joke.
