Caught up with the manga.

Not bad, though it definitely has it's "huh?" moments.

I watched the anime for awhile due to my love for Rave Master, but it's just way too childish. And not in the clever 'all ages can appreciate this' kind of way that One Piece is. Is the manga any better?

Only watched an episode or two of the anime, so I can't compare the two.

But basically, Fairy Tail feels a lot like One Piece-lite. The sense of scale in the world isn't as large as in One Piece (even though the most recent arc attempts to fix that a bit, it has little success, imo). The whole "coolness" factor is a weaker form of One Piece's as well. Though the characters have interesting enough quirks (such as Natsu's inability to ride vehicles, Gray's constant stripping, and Erza's desire to show off), they don't have the same sense of identity that One Piece characters have. Take Natsu, for example. On the surface, he is incredibly similar to Luffy. However, he doesn't capture his childlike innocence as well. Though certain moments come across as sounding good, the writing for his character can often come across as more of a "teenage" stubbornness as opposed to a "childlike" stubbornness.

The manga has its moments, but it doesn't have the same overall strength and creativity that One Piece has.

I am really liking this arc, I hope Gajeel does get that cat.

I wonder if other Dragon Slayers will come with Cats? Seems right doesn't it? And after this arc, I wouldn't think that they would tell the dragon slayers, their cats' history.

New chapter was pretty good.

The fact that Mistgun just "sent the lacryma back and returned them to normal" seems like it might warrant some explanation, but I don't mind it since it turns out that it isn't the end of the arc.

I never thought about it, but this "alternate universe" does explain why Mistgun and Gerard look alike.

I'd like to have an explanation too but it's okay.

Also i have a question...In the last episode of the anime Gerard says that the one(jellal) in the tower is his twin brother. i don't remember saying that in the manga.

Also correct me if i am wrong but the onewho doesn't have any memories is Jellal right?

It's funny, after reading about 10 chapters into the series, I was like, "why does this seem so familiar?" Then realization hit me in the face and I was like, "ONE PIECE!"
