Chappie 38

Riku ran yet again to the doors and opened them, this time without being thrown back. Without stopping, he ran inside. Sora ran after him quickly. Kiari, however, wasn’t so sure. “We should get in there.” Shadow said, implying for Kiari to go inside. Kiari shook herself out of the trance of deep thought she was in, and ran inside.

When she opened the doors, she found Maleficent standing in front of a large whole that covered almost the whole wall. Yet she didn’t see another room or outside through the whole. She saw space; blackness, stars, meteors, and even a speck that looked to be a distant world. On either side of maleficent, there were large, glowing orbs. Anna was in the one made from dark magic, and Melanie was in an orb made from light magic. There were both asleep, floating in the middle of the orbs. Riku and Sora, however, weren’t in the room. Kiari turned around and saw King Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Shadow standing silently behind her. All of them had their weapons out.

Kiari turned back around and held out her hand. She felt her keyblade form in her hand, and she started walking towards Maleficent. “Welcome, Princess of Heart. I’ve been expecting you.” Kiari stopped walking. She was halfway across the room; halfway to Maleficent. “Where’s Sora and Riku?” Kiari asked, gripping her keyblade tightly. She was a little afraid. “Don’t worry about them, darling; they’re fine.” Maleficent snapped her fingers, and heartless appeared in front of Kiari. There were six neo heartless five feet away from her, but she didn’t move. Three of them held up Sora, who was almost unconscious, and the other three held up Riku, who was in the same condition of Sora.

“Sora? Riku? Are you all right?” Sora instantly looked up at Kiari. His eyes were now completely open, and he drifted away from the point of unconsciousness. Kiari quickly slashed through the heartless holding Sora, then Sora got rid of the heartless holding Riku. Riku fell to the ground as the last heartless’s grip left his arm. “Kiari, wake him up, okay?” Kiari nodded and knelt down beside Riku. Sora walked up closer to Maleficent. “Why aren’t you in the World that Never Was?”

Maleficent laughed and turned around. “The World that Never Was is already under my rule. I don’t need to reside there at the time being. Do not make the mistake of thinking that I have softened at all since the last time we met. I have only gotten stronger. You won’t defeat me this time.” Sora rolled his eyes slightly. “Never heard that line before.” He murmured sarcastically. “I don’t care how strong you are; I wont let you walk away from this.” Sora moved into his fighting stance. Donald, Goofy, and King Mickey ran up on either sides of him. Sora felt like smiling, remembering all the times he’d fought with Donald and Goofy, but this was a little too serious. “So even the royal king himself came for this episode. And he brought the other brats with him.” Maleficent starting walking towards them slowly, keeping a cynical grin on her face all the while.

“Riku, come on. We need you. Riku, wake up.” Riku opened his eyes. He couldn’t see anything but blurry shapes at first, but his regular vision came to him after a moment. He saw Kiari shaking his shoulders violently, trying her hardest to wake him. “Kiari, I’m awake now. You can stop.” Kiari moved back some. “Oh, sorry.” Riku stood up, and Kiari did at the same time. Riku whipped his keyblade out and started walking quickly towards the others. Kiari walked behind him. Riku walked right past the others, though. He waked up to maleficent and stopped about ten feet away.

“Let them go.” Riku said. Sora knew he was serious; there was no emotion in his voice. “You can’t mean the princesses, know can you? I need the Princesses of Light and Darkness to carry out my plans. If any of you try to take them, I’ll just get rid of you; so I suggest you don’t try.”

“Don’t you have the wrong Princess of Light?” Kiari abruptly said. She stepped forward a little. “I am not ignorant. Just because Pete thought you were the Princess of Light doesn’t mean I think the same. I know you are not; don’t try to trick me.” “Let them go or you’re life ends now.” Riku was getting impatient. He knew Kiari was trying to trick Maleficent, but Riku knew Maleficent would know better. “Aren’t you going to ‘try’ to end my life anyway?” Maleficent stared at Riku with eyes consumed by evil. “No. I ‘am’ going to end your life anyway.” Riku charged at Maleficent full speed, and she just smiled cynically. As soon as Riku’s keyblade touched her staff, a portal consumed them both.

Chappie 39

“That’s not fair! I have just as much right to fight Maleficent as he does!” Sora let his keyblade vanish and he crossed his arms. “Let’s try to get them out of those orbs. Maybe we can use magic.” Kiari walked up to Anna’s orb, and held out her arm to touch it. “Kiari, no!” Kiari jumped as Sora yelled. She took a step back and looked at the floor. “Sorry; I just…” Sora walked over beside her and looked at the orb. “It’s okay. You didn’t know. This is dark magic; Melanie’s in light magic. If Maleficent put Anna in an orb made out of light magic, it would just make Anna stronger. Same for Melanie and dark magic. We can get Melanie out of her orb for sure, but I don’t know about Anna.”

Sora got out his keyblade yet again and walked over to the orb Melanie was in. Kiari followed. Sora pointed his keyblade at the orb, and then stopped. “Want to help?” Kiari nodded her head, got out her keyblade, and pointed it at the orb. “Just use magic to try to break the orb open.” Sora waited for her response. “How do I use magic?” “Um, well, you just use a spell. I’ll show you.” Sora pointed back at the orb and did thundaga. The orb just swallowed his magic. “What?! It can’t do that!” Frustration overcame Sora’s face. Kiari thought for a moment. “Can you use actual light? Try shooting light at it.” Sora shrugged. He didn’t really know how to use actual light. Kiari pointed her keyblade at the orb, and her eyes started to glow. A large beam of light shot from the tip of her keyblade to the orb’s surface. The orb suddenly started to diminish until it was gone. Kiari let her keyblade go, and Sora went to catch Melanie before she fell.

“Why have you guys been…” Kiari turned around to look at King Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Shadow, but only Shadow was there. “…So quiet? Where’d they go?” Shadow walked up to Sora and took Melanie out of his arms. “They said they had to go. They didn’t say why, but they said it was really important. The king said we would be fine.” Sora scratched his head. “That’s weird. It must be seriously important for them to just leave like that. Hey, do you have any idea where Maleficent and Riku might be?” Sora hoped for a yes, but was upset when he was given a no by Shadow. Kiari just shrugged and walked back over to Anna’s orb.

“If Melanie’s the Princess of Darkness, then she can wield darkness, right? And if a Princess of Heart can open a light magic orb; a Princess of Darkness should be able to open a dark magic orb easily, right?” Kiari kept looking at the dark orb that enclosed Anna. “I guess so. What do you think, Shadow?” Sora looked beside him to see Shadow kneeling on the ground beside Melanie, who lay on the floor motionless. “I don’t think she’ll be able to do anything.” Kiari jerked around. “She still has her heart, right?” “No. She won’t wake up.” Shadow answered without looking up.
