Ok, so I've gotten this comment about a few things that I write, "Your characters seem a little flat", or something close to that.

What exactly does that mean, and how can I help it?

I think it means that the character seems a little emotionless. You can fix that by using more description of their reactions, emotions, and thoughts.

You put yourself in the fic? lol. Well anyways, the best characters always seemed like they'd come alive. If you can see their actions, reactions, and interactions in your mind as the story progresses, you should try to put that to paper as best you can.

It's a bad habit of mine.

And I'll try to do that, just thinking of the age old "every action has a reaction" but thinking of interactions instead of well. . .anything.

What's a good way to do dialogues formatting and such. I've been wondering how to put dialogue and all....so yeah, does anybody know? It'd be nice, cuz I need help/advice with that! XD

You know, I think I'll write up a guide on character building. It seems to be a problem a lot of people have here.

You're a genius at making guides. Stuff just comes to me, and it's dificult to put into words how.

Personally, my stories start out as basic concepts that pop into my head randomly. Then, I usually flush out the idea by listening to music. So, I don't really have any inspiration that I'm aware of.

O.o Thats just how I am, I use to write a few stories here I wrote about 4 or 3 I think back then I just had gotten started writting and was a amatuer but I keep posting for a good time but no one ever posted, like I got a post or two then that was it my last one I kept getting posts everyone now and then but when I began wondering if I was just wasting my time I asked on the thread...no on asnwered so I stopped, this isnt written to make anyone sorry for me Im not that kind of person I just wanted to say how things were when I started posted my work here

So where do you get you all get your inspiration from? Lol, sometimes I get some ideas for stories while I'm washing dishes or cleaning my room. Figures.

mine comes from the many books ive read/games ive played/movies ive seen. as for when it comes... random intervuls.

I second that notion. Guiocob's guides have been lifesavers.
