I had no idea that it was so small, I could sit down and read it in under 2 hours IF I had the time at the moment.
Yeah, the book goes by extremely fast, but trust me you'll looove it. :)

I finished a while back and now reading Through the looking Glass. I like it alot because I have no idea what's going to happen having never read it before. I see that the Disney movie had elements of TtLG in it though.

I blame Disney for the fact that I now have the hardest time keeping straight what happened in which book. I quite enjoyed both however.

I first read the books while taking a course on Chinese History and Ethnography, in which we also read a book by Rolf Stein called "The World in Miniature". In this book, Stein expands on miniaturized but fully complete worlds tucked away in Chinese thought ('folklore' doesn't seem quite the right word). He points out that the most common ways to enter into these worlds are through tunnels and pools; tunnels being confined passages that suddenly lead into an open space unobservable from the outside and pools especially because of their reflective characteristics and other associations.

Needless to say, Alice travelling down the rabbit hole and through the looking glass picked up even greater significance for me.

basically my thoughts on it. the book itself is great and cute and full of nice aesthetics and symbolism~
but it's really after you read it and you start realizing little things like that about how he wrote it that you truly find out why the book is so worthy of being a classic, or referred to so often.
its da best idea evur <3

Have you noticed how alike Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are.

AAiW | TtLG
Deck of Cards | Chess Pieces
Queen of Hearts | The Red Queen
Mad Hatter and the March Hare | Hatta and Haigha (rhyming with mayor)
Caterpillar | Humpty Dumpty

I bet there is more. The last two are moreso personallity than there part in the story.

I loved the books because its soooo weird and yet so intruiging at the same time. I kinda find the Mad Hatter a littl creepy though....

The absurdism of the book is what contributes to the story. I love it. Teaches people to think out-of-the-box a bit more instead of being so....normal.
