| ⎳ΣGΣNDΛRΨ | So, I got into the first book a couple of weeks ago, and sped right through it, captivated by the vivid and almost believable world that Larry Niven painted with words. I've just picked up the second one, and in the space of a single morning, got through almost one hundred pages. So, in short, an artifact, similar to the Halos in the video game series of the same name, except 1800 times larger and with a star at its centre, has been discovered. Given the magnitude of such a structure, Louis Wu, the main character of the series, along with a human woman and two aliens, are gathered together for an expedition to the Ringworld. The group's ship is soon shot down on the massive structure, and all four of them are left to find a way off the alien artifact, which appears to be otherwise deserted, but still holds ancient secrets and knowledge. The Ringworld novel alone, as well as the directly following novels, are considered some of the greatest classics in literature, alongside Arthur C Clarke's 'Space Odyssey' series and Frank Herbert's 'Dune' Ringworld - 1st Novel - Wikipedia The Ringworld Engineers - 2nd Novel - Wikipedia The Ringworld Throne - 3rd Novel - Wikipieda Ringworld's Children - 4th Novel - Wikipedia Known Space Series - Wikipedia |
