Default Stephen King

This was supposed to be a Dark Tower thread, but I forgot that KHI only reads Twilight and Harry Potter. So it's been expanded to Stephen King in general, I guess.

I read a little of the first one, but nothing else. Don't really remember enough of what I read to have much of an opinion. Interesting setting, I suppose.

Though, I have enjoyed some of King's other work, so maybe I'll give this series a read.

I've been wanting to read this series for a while now, but have yet to get around to it.
Though I've heard a lot of good things about it from my Astronomy teacher last year.

Has anyone read any other King books?

If so, I'd like a recommendation on which ones to pick up next time I'm at the library.

The third is definitely my favorite, besides possibly the seventh.

Read it.

My dad loves the Dark Tower series. I tried to read it but couldn't really get into it.
I read the comics though! And I'll see the movie when it comes out in a couple years.

My dad has the Dark Tower series but won't let me touch them because they are all in perfect condition, and he has a limited edition first print of one and it's got a coffin as a case, he says it's real old.

I don't think I've ever been quite so jealous of the father of someone I know online.

Anyways, try to get them from a library if you haven't read them.

I was mistaken, the book in the coffin case wasn't in the Dark Tower series, but it was a limited edition Stephen King book. My dad used to collect his books, so he's got a lot of first editions, like he has the gunslinger series and the dark tower series all first edition. He won't let me read them because he says they are valuable. :/
I'll be picking up the first in the dark tower series sometime next week.

I read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. It's the only King book I've read. I've had so many assigned books to read over the school year I hadn't had a chance to read any more of his books. I really liked this one though. My dad has several of his books so I'm going to start on them this summer.

"Tweedle dum tweedle dour
Hurry up Stephen
Finish the Tower"

One of my favorite quotes by him.

I started the Tower series but it took me a while to finish the first one and I never got into the second one. I'll have to find a library and start reading again.

I seem to be the only one in this thread who has read 'Salem's Lot, which makes me sad because I liked it.

The only other Stephen King I've read is The Shining.

I feel rejuvenated. After I'm done reading the book I'm currently reading I'll have to get some Stephen King books
