| Virus | Well I thought I'd give this another go, I know now that I was a bit noobish, I had people posting on my story and I overeacted just because I didnt have too many but I know what Im doing now so here is my new Virus story this story is going to be different from the last its gonna go through alot of tweaks and adjustments with new characters and some taken out, minors really but anyway here it goes.Aslo I didnt get to read over it yet so expect some flaws. The new story: Chapter 1: The loss of a friend Riaz Summerz an archaeobiologist organized an expedition, hiring a top dollar Adventurer Troy “Juelz” Bolt. To find the ancient extinct race, the Virus but first they have to find the key that unlocks the temple. He had been working for Riaz for about a week and the in secret treasure hunter had already found the first stop out of two on the grand expedition. In the middle of the jungle he found it and was only a few steps away from the discovery. He cautiously moved away the branches and leaves in his way that revealed the entrance but it was blocked off by a huge rock wall. Troy began sweating with the heat and with the clothe shrouding his face, he was dressed in a dark blue vest with a tan short sleeved shirt and tan cargo pants. He looked down at the map he was carrying making sure this was the place, by his calculations he was standing right in front of the beginning of the temple. “I wonder if this thing will budge.” Troy got on one side of the rock and started pushing, first with his hands then he switched to his back and legs. It didn’t budge on bit and Troy was a bit irrated by it and was out of breath from the pushing. “Ok new plan” He said, since pushing it wasn’t going to work Troy decided to pull out the “good stuff”. Two special stick bombs laid in his hands from his backpack, carefully he stuck on at the top of the rock and the other one at the bottom. Stepping back Troy caught eye of illuminated symbols writing slight above the rock, troy tried reading it, it was a warning saying: “This place has been left, forgotten by time. Sealed within keep our worlds from the total darkness and oblivion the Virus can unleash. Proceeding will re-awaken the nightmare that was long thought dead, leave this place or the consequences will be dire.” Unfortunately he was only able to read the first line, ignorantly he continued without trying to fully understand the warning. He gave up the second he tried reading the second sentence which he couldn’t and tried to think of what it probably was, he finally came to a conclusion. “Ah its probably just saying how if I take the key that’s in here there will be some dire consequences and some mummies will come after me or something.” Troy kept that in his mind to relieve him, the bombs he switched on and the timer was set for 10 seconds. As soon as it went off Troy was about 12 feet away, but still with a clear view of the rock. A random thought then buzzed in his head, “Did I put too much ignition fluid in the bo-“ before he finished the aftershock from the bomb blew through the trees and knocked him off his feet, knocking him into a tree. The dumbstruck Adventurer laid there, aching in his back. After a few seconds he got up wiping off the debris and dirt off him. “Guess I did.” Now his final question was did the bombs work or not, he headed back to the scene. The little area that the rock used to be was gone along with the whole front off the entrance and some of the smaller tree’s that were around it. Troy shook his head not because of the mini destruction the bombs caused, but with a smile because he could now go inside. He came closer to it amazed at how strongly the bomb worked, but inside was just a seemingly dark tunnel going underground. The same mold and fungus from the rock wall were hanging from the walls in the tunnel, but with a stronger smell. Troy held his nose from the stench as he took out his oval shaped communicator anxiously trying to get a hold of Riaz through the line, his partner in the expedition. “Riaz I finally found the first spot, the uh entrance seems to be passable.” He was going to keep the “bomb” incident to himself because Riaz didn’t want him to use bombs because of how risky bombs can be, especially towards ancient buildings. There was no, so Troy spoke again. “Riaz?” Some noises were heard in the background but it was like sounds of chairs falling and papers blowing everywhere. Then Riaz came on the line panting, “I’m here, so you found the temple pretty easily?” Troy was sounding a bit nervous in his speech but carried on. “Yep this is the place that holds the key now it’s a cakewalk.” Riaz sat back in his chair relieved to here it, he had never been so happy on a discovery ever. “Splendid, just be on the look out for booby traps and to not forget to bring back the key!” Troy’s eyes widened, he hadn’t been through booby traps in years. He gulped in fear making sure he heard right. “Booby traps?” “Yeah.” Riaz enlightened Troy. “That’s why I didn’t join you on the key retrieval.” Now the “cakewalk” phrase Troy used disappeared and the word “Pain” came to mind. He turned on the flashlight to get a good look down the tunnel, it looked clear. “If I don’t go through then I won’t get paid and Riaz won’t give me any credit which should led to more money…aw man.” He thought, fear crept down his spine as he walked into the tunnel with his first steps. “I’m going through now” He stopped cause his voice sounded like he was crying which he was about to do because of the booby traps, he coughed and spoke again. “I mean I’m going through now, I’ll contact you when I get out.” “If I get out.” He negatively thought. He was normally a brave person, he is an adventurer in all but many booby trap accidents cause him to get an anxiety towards them. Riaz smiled and replied back. “Ok I’ll be waiting.” Troy’s communicator was then put on standby and Riaz did the same, all he could do now was to be patient and wait. It was hard to do that though, he was so anxious to get the D.N.A he needed from the final temple where the surviving Viruses believed to die out at over 2 hundred years ago. The name said enough about them, they were a very interesting race indeed to both Riaz and Tyler Tyrexil his friend and also partner on the project once the second D.N.A is received. Surprisingly the Virus traces of D.N.A were spread out on their planet, one was found by Tyler and the other is located at the temple that was built to trap them. Tyler had been working on his own Viruses, human like for a few weeks now and the first few have come to be fine, Sylex, Melderra and Jin young were the first ones and they names themselves. From their knowledge the Virus was a “curse” upon all living things, they fed off of a person’s life force and when they were done the virus and victim would become one and sometimes would create a new type. The species was just so extraordinary to the three, once tiny organisms that began growing into ones that varied in sizes, shape and more. The sizes were from a regular dog up to sky scraper heights. Of course they would re program the Viruses mind that they plan on resurrecting. He continued to sit in his chair thinking about it until he figured he should call Tyler to tell him about the recent discovery. So without hesitation he picked up his phone on his desk and dialed his number, he had planetary cellular. The dial tone came on, it kept ringing and ringing but no one picked up. After awhile even Tyler’s answering machine didn’t come on, this was beginning to disturb him. Riaz tried not to over react on the matter, it’s just what disturbed him is that Tyler never has his answering machine off. He shrugged grabbing his communicator connected with Troy and set course for downstairs to his garage and fly to his planet to tell him in person. When he was about to hang up the phone though the strangest thing happened, it cut off with the operator on the line. Riaz hung up the phone, put it back on the charger and hurried downstairs. “Maybe his phone was just disconnected by the operator after all the rings.” He thought, which did not calm him in the least, something was telling him something was wrong. The door opened up with him rushing into his garage, it held his navy blue hover car and 2 rockets. He went to the smaller one; Tyler’s planet was only 20 minutes away, so close it looked like they were stuck in each others gravitational force. The light switch on the wall he turned on also opens up the sky roof, so he could have quick access to leaving in the rockets. He looked up and there was Tyler’s planet, the forest green world that soon started to grow a light right where Tyler was located. It grew and grew until magma red cracks began to spread out of it slowly surrounding the planet. It was magma; the cracks were as deep down into the core of the planet as it could be. Riaz was openmouthed and stunned at what was happening, the world was being destroyed. The cracks expanded and the planet could not take it anymore, and then BOOM it was nothing but bits and pieces of a once glorious world, the explosion was loud it was like hearing thunder on Riaz’s planet. The screams from the people outside his house were heard, everyone out in the streets and in their cars saw it too when they heard the thunderous sound. He could hear them, many questions like “What has just happened to that world?” and “No, all those people!” So many citizens were talking about it; it was just so surprising to them, a whole world was just obliterated. Riaz was the most shocked of them all and now filled with endless sorrow over his friend Tyler. He fell to his knee’s eyes gushing with tears; all he wanted to know was “Why?” Last edited by Maverick E.S; 07/10/08 at 07:27 AM. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Now this is an improvement. Now that I can see the whole thing, it's much better. I can see the character's emotions, and I also noticed that you fixed a few mistakes in the first paragraph, very good. I still think there were a few places that could have used a bit more description, but that's just me. Defninately better. 8.0 out of 10 I'll look for the next part... |

| Virus | Thanks bud, ok sorry to have the prologue second but the last post was supposedly gonna be the prologue but here it is here, also im not gonna be postng the whole storyt here cause i plan on publishing it still so, Im going to be going up tp chapter 3 or 4 and thats it, I dont want to ruin it too much lol. Im gonna be reviewing the chapters after posting and fix grammer and stuff I should do that before but im too lazy: Prologue: At about One o’clock in the morning a bright light shined in the sky over, but was no star or planet, it was a space pod. It was coming down fast towards a sky blue planet, where Dr. Phil Illias laid asleep in his bed. The pod was heading right for his boarding house with the velocity of a comet. A moment later it wedged itself into the ground right in front of Phil’s house, the fire that was surrounding it was blown out by the dirt that smothered it. Ironically the booming crash didn’t wake Phil up but it woke up his nephew on the third floor, Andrew. Unlike Phil and the other member of the house Zach Morrow he wasn’t a heavy sleeper, it woke him up just like that. It had startled him awake, he had short cut dark blonde hair with hazel eyes, in his sleeping clothes a navy blue shirt and bed bottoms. Andrew sat up rubbing his eyes, wondering if the sound he heard wasn’t just something his mind made up, that is until he looked out his window. Smoking was hovering into the air and fogging up his window and the glimmer of fire was reflecting up. “Uh oh!” Alarmed he hopped out of bed and opened his door to go warn the others, first was Zach who was on the room right next to him. This situation was getting him worried about what was burning; he hoped it wasn’t part of the boarding house. Andrew busted open the door and turned on the light. There Zach was lying on his bed in the corner, with an open comic book placed over his face, in his boxers and white tee shirt. Posters all around his wall, with a regular computer, TV, videogames and some bean bag chairs. Andrew struggled to hold back his laughter so he could wake him up; he walked over to him and nudged him. “Dude get up something is on fire outside!” Zach didn’t wake up, so he tried nudging him more crazily, still no response. Andrew folded his arms trying to think what would wake him up without hurting him, unlike last time. Then he got it, it would upset Zach once he found out the truth but he had to wake him up. He walked back over to the door, turned back to Zach and said “Breakfast!” The moment Andrew uttered those words Zach rose out of bed with the comic fell into his lap and Zach with blonde hair going down to the tip of his hair and brown eyes he asked his famous question “Is it eggs and bacon?” You could hear the fatigue in his voice. Andrew waved his hand at Zach to follow him as he ran down the hallway to the stairs; Zach followed him close behind hungry for food. On the second floor was Phil’s room, when Andrew and Zach got their though to their surprise the door was open and Phil wasn’t inside. Zach yawned then smacked his lips getting a strange taste out of his mouth, seeing the surprised look on Andrew’s face he spoke to him. “So Phil made the breakfast or is he eating it all up?” Andrew moved his eyes to the second set of stairs, and moved on, going outside. Zach held his hand out pointing at Andrew right as he dashed to the steps, “Where is he going?” He thought. “Andrew what’s wrong?” While he ran down the stairs he responded back, “He must be outside!” Zach was still oblivious to what was going on, still thinking someone really did cook breakfast “This is one confusing night!” Zach got back to thinking about Andrew; if they were going outside he would need some pants, so he headed back to his room real quick to grab some. Andrew’s pace quickened, there he was on the first floor passing by the living room/mini lab full of bookshelves, lab and regular table’s, chairs and couch’s and two TV’s. Out the door he went and was relieved to see that there was no harm, physically anyway. Phil was right in front of this 7 foot long grey pod, only a few inch’s into the ground. A pre-recorded video transmission was being played, one of Tyler also great friend with Phil. Andrew stopped what he was doing and watched with him intrigued, Phil was beginning to become saddened with the news he heard before Andrew got there, the news was no where near good. Tyler’s recording went on: “Riaz and I hoped to change the world with this project; we used fossilized D.N.A from the ancient Virus race that died 2 centuries ago. We did this to hopefully bring back a species long forgotten to study and hopefully get answers of our past as well. Based on their previous instincts of course we would re-program the minds so they wouldn’t continue what they tried doing many years ago, infecting all other life forms. I underestimated how hard it would be to take control of the instinct full D.N.A when I tried to make humanoid Virus. Jin young, Melderra and Omega came under the defect, first it was Jin young and Omega, Melderra fought to protect me but soon fell into it as well, but unlike them she went rogue going her own way. The other more animal like grew into abominations, changing into monstrous nightmares and soon spread throughout my world with Jin young leading them. I was left injured and could not leave the lab so I was left with two options, get my son off the planet along with Sylex the last remaining Virus who did not succumb to the defect and to destroy the planet before the virus spread. Everyone was lost I had no choice, I wiped Sylex’s previous memories of his Virus abilities and of me so he wouldn’t end up the same as, there he is in this pod, please look after him for me. If the Virus survived the planet’s demise I am truly sorry what I have done, I have put some of the last sampling D.N.A of the virus in this pod pocket, study it and build weaponry that can destroy it. So Sylex doesn’t remember anything before the time is right, his human name will Dylan, please look after him and if my Son is safe, please fine him.” The video hologram ended with Phil was speechlessly standing there. He rested his right hand over the hard glass that covered Dylan, his eyes closed in a hibernation state. Tears rolled down Phil’s face, he had now experienced the same loss Riaz felt. Andrew felt horrible; he was also good friends with Tyler but not like Phil was. As he was about to try and comfort him, Phil spoke out “I need you to help me get this thing into the garage, we’ll take him out of the pod in the morning.” He had stopped crying for the moment, leaving his eyes light red, after that he pushed a button on the side, wheels popped out underneath so they could push it easier into the garage. A few minutes later it was safely inside, and the two were quite as the night until Andrew spoke up. “Phil, are you ok?” Phil rose his head up to look at him as they walked back out the garage. “Huh…oh yeah, I’m fine I…I just need some rest, things are gonna be hectic for me for awhile is all. But for now its time to just get some shut-eye.” Andrew was worried about him; he had never seen him cry before. Now even more worse is that this “Virus” threat might come true he thought. They bid each other goodnight and retired back to their rooms, but as Andrew passed Zach’s room he saw him knocked out on the floor with his pants half way up his legs. “Wow he was that tired.” Shaking his head he flicked off his light and went to bed, he layed down and tried to go to sleep but the thought of what was to come was stuck in his head and it did not seem good… Ps- Tell me if I should cut down on the information Tyler gives in his video recording or not plz |

| Virus | This is only part one of chapter 2: Like i said before chapter 1 and prologue have been switched up so the story would make more since Chapter 2: From bad to worse… Four months later… Riaz still had no clue of what happened to Tyler’s planet and if he survived or not. He was still upset about it and was not willing to talk to Phil about it to see if he knew anything, at least not yet. In honor of Tyler, both Riaz and Troy finally decided to continue the expo and get things back on track so the work wouldn’t be in vein for one reason. This time it was Riaz and Troy out on the field. Troy successfully got the key orb from the tomb from before and just landed at they final destination now to see if the theories were true. Residing in the black sand desert, it was really windy out, hopefully good enough to uncover some of the Temple to make things easier to find. Troy’s scanner was beginning to pick up something; he got off his doom buggies with his eyes glued to it. “Did the scanner find something?” Riaz asked. Troy walked further away as the scanner beeped louder and louder, “I think it might’ve picked something out!” He walked some more until he tripped over something that felt like a stone, hitting the ground hard getting a face full of sand. “At least I’m getting paid for this!” He thought. Troy got back up fast spitting out the hot sand; awkwardly he looked down and saw the rock that tripped him. “You ok Troy?” Riaz asked, he was trying to hold back his laughter. Troy got a grip of it and noticed that it wasn’t a rock but some kind of pointed object. He took his scanner and put it above the object, then it began to read its signature and position with the GPS built in it. In a matter of seconds the scanner informed Troy of the location and he had finally found the Temple, but the bad news was it was completely buried under the sand. Miserably Troy rubbed his hand down his face and sighed, it was good he found the temple but how can he get it from under the sand. Riaz looked at Troy’s troubled face, “What’s wrong is something up with the Tempe?” Troy was about to get up to respond when he saw and imprint on the object sticking out of the sand, it looked like something was suppose to be stuck in there. It seemed to fit the structure of the orb; he flung his backpack over his shoulder and swiped it out for a try. Placing the orb carefully into the imprint, “I hope this works!” if it didn’t the expedition was over. After the placement, it made a clicking sound and locked itself in. As a result, a glowing sky blue circle surrounded it and spread out into lines that went under the sand. Then the ground began shaking rapidly, at different spots in the sand things were raising out of the ground, Riaz was still sitting in his buggy, shocked beyond belief with his gapped open. “The Temple…is rising out of the ground!” It was truly unbelievable, the Temple was truly rising out the sand, Troy and Riaz could barely trust what they were seeing. But it was true. After about a minute or two there everything was with the remaining sand falling off it, first off there were two stone pillars in front, with other smaller buildings on the side of the larger 70 foot high triangular shaped walkthrough structure with bridges going across the gaps at the top that led to the equally sized Temple. The same style of symbols that was all over the buildings, but they looked more like shapes then what the ones where the orb was. Jubilant to get inside Riaz had to get together his things, it would take a bit to get out the trunk. “Give me one second to get my things!” He hoped off the seat and rush to the preparations. Troy laid back next to his ride, tilting his desert ready hat down on his face. He was known got getting bored easily. He never liked to sit down for too long so he started reminiscing about some of his previous adventures, until he began hearing something. What he was hearing turned into soft whispers that seemed to echo out the temple to him. Troy froze, moving his eyes around the area, not seeing anyone but Riaz buried in his backpack. The very thought of what was talking brought shivers down his spine, yet the whispers were too soft to make out. He took a few steps back from the place and took his seat there; he wasn’t hearing someone talking anymore but echoes’ of different sounds coming from the temple. He kept his eye at it and couldn’t look away, he shook his head in disbelieve thinking the desert was just messing with his head, “It’s probably just the heat from the desert.” Troy thought, a lot of times when he went into the desert for a time he usually did see mirages and hear sounds but, what made his thinking worse was it was always around this area. Riaz head popped out his backpack with a candy bar wedged in his mouth. “Ok, time to start our exploration of the Temple!” The candy bar muffled his speech as he spoke. The backpack was strapped to him and everything else he would need was in the pockets of his cargo pants. Troy nodded with a reassuring smile, “Alright lets finish the first visit up before night time, and before the desert raiders find this place.” Riaz came out to the desert dressed just like Troy, so he was just as ready as Troy was, the many secrets that the Temple holds might prove otherwise. Now the exploration began, as they walked down the hot and windy path towards the Temple they noticed how big everything was in comparison to them. It was quite windy so they had to put on their goggles; Riaz was overjoyed while Troy was unsure about carrying on with this. Riaz tried to get a conversation on while looking at all the surroundings, “Here we are, after months of working we are finally here. I wonder what the temple looks like inside.” He rubbed his hands together feeling eager to get in, looking for fossils, some traces of D.N.A or better a preserved full body Virus. An hour and a half passed with them looking all through the Temple, along the walls were tons of hieroglyphics; many were of the Virus’ the many forms and the victims it was said that they took upon them. Unknown to them there were tons of cocoons above them along the ceiling. Along the way thought they had passed through a beautiful scene when they walked by a bridge that connected two different walls apart and below laid a river but about half a mile down, the Temple wasn’t really the full discovery it was only the entrance to the real discovery of the Viruses. Then Riaz had come into a full source of DNA, but it wasn’t what he was expecting. He got the DNA from full scale bodied Virus, just lying on the ground, it had no vital signs at all, that’s what the scanner said at least. It was on its back about 7 feet tall, it had the legs of a T-rex and the claws of one by the rest of the arm was built like a humans, the head was long and had markings on it similar to the ones that appeared on the statue, its mouth was wide open showing jagged teeth with a spider web on the top, four eyes the bottom ones were longer and bigger than the top, mini spikes and bits and pieces of armor around it. Riaz kneeled down, taking out his needle to take some samples of its blood. “Maybe next trip back, I can take this thing to the lab for further study.” Riaz said. Carefully he stuck it in, and slowly drew out the blood. Strangely the blood looked healthy but was light blue. He took off the needle and put them both in a case back in his bag, “Ok a little bit further and we can leave.” Riaz said, Troy couldn’t get any happier because the place was creeping him out too much. They continued to walk down the gloomy halls, until they reached a part where the once candle lit hallways were lantern lit coming close to a wide open room. Both of them looked all around it, there were a set of towers that held up the ceiling, four on each side. The same things that were in the hallways were all along the walls aside from that it was an empty room, with a close door at the other end and another room in the corner. Something caught Troy’s eye on the one left side corner where the other room was, it had brighter illumination than everywhere else, a sort of blue glow really. The room looked worth checking out to Troy, Riaz was going to study the present room first and see if the door could be opened. Troy informed Riaz about it, “Hey, Riaz I’m uh going to check out that corner over there real quick, it may be something important.” Riaz nodded, he was still awed by the sculptures and what not around the room. Before Troy moved Riaz quickly turned over to him, “Ok, don’t touch anything that looks suspicious” Riaz warned him, “We don’t know what the Temple is capable of doing to us while in here.” Joyously Troy went on over to the other room, “Understood” he said. As he got closer the more intriguing it looked, he couldn’t keep his eyes from the light. The room the light was coming from wasn’t too big only eight by ten feet. But the only thing in it was hovering over a little tower; it was an ice blue orb. Troy walked closer to it, “I wonder what this is…maybe it’s some kind of treasure?” It boggled his mind toward what it was, he decided why not touch it, thinking back on this he would say “What a bad idea it was!” He put out his index finger and softy rubbed it, to get a slight feel of it to see if it was safe. It was cool to the touch, but then the orb grew in heat and began melting where his finger was. Troy quickly retracted his finger, the orb burned it. “Ow!” He held his finger blowing at it too cool it down, and before his eyes the orb melted and splashed to the floor and on his boots. Standing there shocked at what just happened, he hoped it was just something for show. As that thought had settled in his mind a roar echoed all throughout the Temple and back, and both Riaz and Troy’s head rose. Troy spoke first, “What was that?” He asked afraid, he had put two and two together, because whatever had just roared happened just as the orb thing melted. Riaz stood up slowly looking at the door at the other side of where they came in, that’s where the sound came from. He wasn’t too sure of what it was but was interested in finding out, “I don’t know but I’m going to check it out!” The words Troy was dreading to hear, what ever that roaring sound, he wanted to be away from it. The door was opened by Riaz; they made loud creaks like the hinges needed oiling. It revealed stairs going down, there weren’t many at all so you could see the bottom, it wasn’t looking to inviting though. They continued walking down the steps through the narrow hallway and at the bottom was something un expected, a huge cave. |

| Virus | I didnt read over it yet and I was writting the outline so its gonna be messed up with details and grammer a bit. It astounded Riaz as to a Temple in the middle of the desert leading down into a cave. Something had to be down here which led him to wonder what. Troy on the other hand was still nervous about Riaz finding out about the melting orb. He tries to get his mind of it by talking to him, “Riaz, why does this temple have a route down here?” Riaz shook his head not knowing either, “I’m not sure, if the route led down here then their must be something important around.” The two could tell the cave was more wide than long. They walked a bit deeper inside seeing more features, stalactite and stalagmites filled the room, there was even a little pool nearby them, with the light beaming down from the room above the Troy and Riaz would not need their flashlights just yet. The roar hollered once again, it sounded closer this time and as it did, a shadow emerged over a few rocks and wasn’t looking friendly. With the sight of it they both jumped back horror-stricken. In the distance the dark figure casting the figure was visible; it was huge with long arms and what looked like spikes over some of it. Troy shot his arm out pointing to the figure, “W-what the heck is that!?” Riaz shushed him, whatever the thing was he did not what it aware of its location. They ducked behind a few rocks to keep out of sight, and then Riaz responded back to Troy, “It was obscured behind too many things, I don’t know what that was. That was defiantly the thing making those roars though.” Sweat rolled down his face, nervous as he ever was. He took a deep breath and took a glance at Troy to see how he was reacting, he was sweating all over too, and just as scared. It was very quite as they sat there, Troy could not sit there anymore, he had to try something. He whispered to Riaz, informing him of his plan, “Ok, I’m going to look over the rocks to see if it’s gone, if so then we head back up and get the heck out of here!” Riaz nodded upset; he didn’t want to leave without finding out what the monster was. He couldn’t risk it though, there is no telling what that thing was capable of doing to them he thought. With angst Troy lifted his rock slowly above the rock, something wet but warm then landed on his right hand. Thinking it was just water he didn’t stop, there his head laid right over the rock to see a big ugly head staring him in the face, growling. Troy’s face went from brown to an almost pail color, almost wetting his pants in freight. He turned around and sat back down with his eyes wide open, Riaz looked at him thinking he had seen a ghost. “Riaz…” Troy said calmly. “Run!” As he said that, the panic was all so noticeable in his voice, he had got up and jolted away from the beast as the words came out his voice. The whole thing happened so fast Riaz was left clueless, “Troy what are you-“The monster cut him off trying to smash Riaz with its fist, but missed him and hit where Troy was. That got Riaz jumping off the ground and heading right over with Troy. The cave’s light was dimming; the darn monster was chasing them deeper into the cave. The only thought that crossed their mind was to get away from the thing chasing them. They cut through some twists and turns through some pathways, until they led to a high up wall, it led to shelter but they could make the jump if they worked together. Troy was ahead and jumped first, his hands grabbed the top and he pulled himself up. Riaz had a grip but lost it and slid back down and the monster was closing on them. Quickly Troy shot out his hand to Riaz’s aid, “Hurry, grab it!” His backpack was tiring him out; he soon could barely even reach the hand on his jump. Right when they latched together the beast yanked Riaz out of Troy’s grasp. With Riaz in its hands Troy panicked and froze in place, Riaz turned his head to Troy. It lifted Riaz closer to its face, growling softly at him, he shook terribly with beads of sweat rolling down his face. There were markings on its neck, going down its back; they were the same as the hieroglyphics. “Get out of here Troy!” He realized what the monster was. “It’s a Virus!” As close as Riaz and Troy were as friends, he wasn’t willing to risk Troy’s life trying to saving him. But unfortunately Troy did not even move he was stuck in the moment of thinking what to do, so Riaz tried reasoning with him, “Troy leave now the expedition is off, you can’t help me this virus will kill us both!” He wasn’t going to leave him; he believed the blame of their doom was completely his fault. Troy stood up taking a deep breath, “The orb…it melted because of me and that must’ve waked it up, it had to have been.” Unsure of what he was doing, Troy took out his machete and jumped off his mount determined to save Riaz. The virus was 8 feet tall compared to him, but it was either him or it, he had to try and do something or Riaz and he were doomed. Once he hit the ground, the Virus was right there with its attention on Riaz, and with one strike along its back it led out a huge roar in pain. Before he could strike again the virus turned around and hit Troy with its open hand knocking him against the wall. Now it was angry, narrowing its eyes towards the two. But now with its attention was fully on Troy, before it went to attack again it looked back at Riaz. Looking bored with him it tossed Riaz like it was nothing. It had felt like he had been launched out of a sling shot, and like a cannonball he broke through one of the larger rocks that reached the ceiling, and fell off a ledge into a wide open hole shaped like a crevasse. Bouncing off the walls, he got all scratched up and bruised pretty badly, thinking he was falling to his end he had got on a small opening in the wall of it. Even from that his left leg had broken; he held it yelling in pain. The echo came up over to where Troy was, he had gained back his sanity when the Virus threw Riaz. “No!” Troy was furious at it; he jumped back to his feet ready to attack when the Virus was tackled to the ground by some robot. Chapter 3: They live From the looks of it the robot was helping Troy. It bombarded the Virus with punches, with the Virus occupied with the robot Troy took the opportunity and headed over to where Riaz was. While the two continued to fight, the Virus grabbed the robot and swung it into a stalagmite. As it recovered from the hit, the Virus picked up a rock about the size of its head and tossed it towards him. The robot saw and wound back its arm and busted the rock into hundreds of pieces. Troy made it over fine, looking down in the crevasse he saw nothing but darkness, “Riaz are you there!?” he waited for a response afraid he wouldn’t get an answer. Riaz was sitting up, his broken leg laid out stretching out to the edge. He was getting dizzy from the fall, about to lose consciousness when he heard Troy calling. “Troy…get out of here, you can’t help me now!” Riaz was panting, he knew Troy couldn’t help him, there was no way he could climb down and get him out not with his leg broke. Troy did not want to leave him there; it was looking like that was the only solution. He clinched his fists grinding his teeth, “I’ll be back with help, I promise, just stay save!” Riaz yelled back up after, “Alright just hurry!” He turned back around looking at the fighting robot with the Virus and gulped nervously. “If I can make it past them, I should be fine.” He started to run and as he did he heard more individual roaring, he looked back and tons of other Viruses were coming after him. They all had come out of the cocoons back on the opposite side where Troy and Riaz came in, and the others were on ceiling in the hallways were just breaking out. “I can’t believe this happening!” Troy yelled. The one freaked him out but the ones chasing him where all different but the darkness made it hard to see them too well. Now came the hard part, making it past the fighting two. They were tossing and turning all around taking down everything in their path, he waited for a chance to run and he dashed off. He couldn’t wait long because the other viruses not too far behind him. Right when he was passing, the Virus picked up the robot and throws him at Troy. They clashed against each other, the robot dug its hand into the ground to stop but he couldn’t grab Troy before he was knocked unconscious by the hit he took in the head. Troy woke up back outside with the robot looking over him. A cream and black color on it, it looked more like it was just built with an exoskeleton with some plates on its limbs and a bit battle torn, metal claws on its feet, yellow eyes, looking almost human separate from its oval head under the armor or it. Troy moaned in pain as he was realizing where he was, back outside the Temple. Sitting up he returned the favor looking back at the robot, “Who are you?” The robot cocked its head at him; it stood up and looked back at the Temple. After its pause, it stuck up its right arm aiming at it. Troy was confused at what the robot was doing, until he looked down at the temple seeing the markings all it glowing, after a few seconds it stopped but the robot just did something. It looked back at Troy, “My name is Crozer, I’m...one of those monsters you’ve seen in there, just in a different form. I’m guessing you’re the one who woke us up.” Meanwhile… Still a bright shinning morning, the birds were chirping and flying about which had woken up Andrew, that wasn’t a good thing. His eyes cracked open with crust in the corners, immediately he wiped it off and stuck out the window. “Will you birds SHUT UP!” He didn’t get much sleep, he had a late shift at his job, and he was a well paid soldier of the city just as Zach was. After the unfair attitude he spoke towards the birds, they grew quiet momentarily. Andrew smiled thinking he could go back to sleep. “Now that’s more li- AH!” After quickly shutting the window, it was covered with tons of white splatter. He looked at it with a grimace as it slowly slid down his window along with the birds squawking laughter. “Oh that’s just sick!” He said. “I’ll get that later; I need to take a shower.” Andrew walked painfully slow to the door, he was use to being tired but a cool water shower would wake him up, that is if a certain someone didn’t already. The door open and a 15 year old boy was standing there with messy brown hair, goggles around his neck, orange eyes wearing a tee shirt in his boxers brushing his teeth. The boy spoke first, with the toothbrush still in his mouth, “Mornin’ Andrew, I was just coming to wake you up!” He patted the boy oh his head smiling, “Well I’m awake now, thanks to the birds. I’m going to go take a shower, see you in a bit Dylan.” Andrew turned to the other side of the hallway, and walked down to the bathroom. Dylan walked the other way back downstairs to his room, “Ok, Later!” Dylan didn’t worry about Zach because he always woke up around the same time everyday, which was a bit after Andrew woke up. Dylan lived with Phil and the others ever since his pod crashed there 4 months ago, and like Tyler said Dylan aka Sylex had no memory of being a Virus or of Tyler. About fifteen minutes later Andrew was out the shower, with his towel on and heading back to his room. With his second towel he was rubbing his head dry when he heard his alarm communicator go off. He rushed inside and turned it on; his commanding officer was on the line. A hologram of her head popped up, the woman was brown skinned wearing sunglasses with short hairstyle a bit past her neck. She spoke with bold attitude “Ah good morning Andrew” |

| Virus | Here is the new chapter 1 of virus I help you'll like it: Chapter one: Success to Failure Riaz Summerz an archaeobiologist organized an expedition, with his closest friend, Troy “Juelz” bolt, an adventurer and Tyler Tyrexil a scientist. All three trying looking for the remains of an ancient extinct race, the virus. First they had to find the key that unlocks the temple to where they were last seen, based on Riaz’s great, great, great grand father journal who had witnessed them first hand. The expo has been in the works for a month now, Troy’s part of it started the last week. Already he had found the first stop out of two on the grand expedition and retrieved the key. Riaz was so anxious to get the D.N.A he needed from the final temple where the surviving Viruses believed to die out at, one hundred years ago. The name said enough about them, they were a very interesting race indeed to both Riaz and Tyler. Surprisingly the Virus traces of D.N.A were spread out on their planet, one was found by Tyler and the other is located at the temple that was built to trap them. Thanks to Riaz’s great, great, great grand father Arthelias, he had experienced them first hand and even helped to stop them. He had written a whole journal about him and the war against them, it was like a nightmare come true. All their weapons, plans and everything they could throw at them couldn’t stop them. The weapons blasts would phase right through them like ghosts, from their knowledge from the journal the Virus was a “curse” upon all living things. They fed off of a person’s life force, when they were done the virus and victim would become one and sometimes would create a new form. The species was just so extraordinary to the three, once tiny organisms that began growing into ones that varied in sizes, shape and more. The sizes were from a regular dog up to sky scraper heights. Of course they would re program the Viruses mind that they plan on resurrecting so they ones they create would not have any bad side effects…or worse. Tyler had black hair going down his face with a goatee and green eyes, he had been working on his own Viruses for a few weeks now, and they were human like. The D.N.A Tyler found he used on the Viruses he had created to make them similar to them. They all had come to be fine, Sylex, and Melderra were the first ones he made and they had named themselves. Sylex was created to be 15 years old while Melderra was 17, the others were humanoid as well but Sylex and Melderra were different. They were stronger, faster, smarter and with more abilities. But the accomplishment would soon become a huge failure. It happened in his lab, he was on the top level of it, where Melderra and Sylex were. Inside their capsules for their examination, just like the others he had created. Down the stairs from it were the dozens of other capsules filled with other successful ones up hooked up to the walls around the open floor. He was sitting down at his computer, watching the status updates of the two, everything seemed on them. Before he was getting ready to check the others, a beeping noise rang coming from the others. He got up, worried. “What is that…oh no!” The alarming was clear, something bad was happening to his other Viruses. Quickly he ran down the short stair case and got to the monitoring system for them. Each and every one of the bodies on the ground floor were blinking red, some were even changing rapidly into monstrous figures. “No!” He yelled with intense fear, it was something he would’ve never thought would happen, the viruses were responding negatively to the D.N.A. Trying to shut the life support down seemed like the only thing to stop it from happening, there was nothing left he could do. He typed in the shutdown on the capsules on the floor immediately and off they went. Tyler sighed, upsetting as it was he had to hurry before things got worse so he looked back at Melderra and Sylex to see if they were still okay. The computer was saying so for the moment, until something was going wrong with Sylex. The same reading was going with him, but he could take out the D.N.A because it wasn’t his only signature. He typed in the code for the abstraction and it worked, it was taken out and put into a small bottle. With relieve he calmed down and sat back in his chair rubbing his eyes. “Today could not get anyway worse…oh wait no I withdraw the question.” Before he could the alarm for Melderra went off but it had been in affect since the others were, for her it was too late. Her complexion was violet hair going down her face and the rest into a ponytail going down her back, violet eyes, a brown tank top, black pants and bracelets around her wrists. Strange symbols then appeared all over body, and then her eyes popped open, she was angry. After she awakened so did the others, the live support wasn’t needed for them anymore. The viral D.N.A in them had taken over, and their bodies were changing into monsters. Tyler got up hearing glass from the capsules breaking and saw it, as they all were coming out the once human bodies shifted forms. He backed up near Melderra’s capsule unaware of her waking up, “No t-this can’t be happening, how can they change so drastically all of a sudden!?” “It’s because of the ancient virus instinct,” Responded Melderra. Tyler turned around appalled at the symbols and the evil grin on Melderra’s face. She busted through the glass of her capsule, grabbing him by the neck. He struggled to get free but that only made it worse as she walked out. Him struggling made her laugh, her kind and sweet personality had now been corrupted by the virus D.n.a. Tyler tried to reason with her, “Mel, get a hold of yourself. That’s not you talking it’s the viruses D.n.a!” She just laughed again and turned him to look at the others changing, “That’s what we are;” she replied “I’m just glad it finally took effect!” With that she tossed him like a rag doll over the bars onto the ground floor. Hitting the floor hard, Tyler was anguished not just because of that but because of the infection messing with his families mind, his creations whom he loved and treated like a family. He rolled on his side and saw the terrible sight of them all transforming and he couldn’t get up from the fall at moment, he was hurting that bad. Only Sylex was unaffected, but Melderra was looking into that now. The virus that was about to take over his body was still in the bottle next to him. There was no way he was going to be taken over, unless one of them was too infect his body but it would be the other virus not Sylex himself. Mel shrugged “There would be no use of him” she said, “Guess he is just DEAD weight!” She stuck out her arm aimed at the hibernated Sylex, about to blast him away with an energy blast. It gathered in her hand and there it was, but she hesitated. She stood there with the energy in her hand but stood still, the good part of her was fighting back the virus in her. “Don’t even think about it!” Yelled a mysterious voice, Mel looked surprised trying to see where it came from. She recognized the voice, “Brad!?” Mel looked but only saw a blue static ball of energy coming right for her. It was a bull eye right in her stomach and she went flying through the wall out the building. It was Brad Tyrexil, Tyler’s son, who had just saved Sylex’s life…for the moment. He matched his complexion but with combed back hair going down his neck, lighter green eyes, wearing a navy blue suit just coming from a gathering. “Dad!” concerned he ran over to him and helped pull him up “Are you okay, I heard all this noise coming from here so I rushed over with my plasma rifle. It looks like that was good idea, what’s going on here?” “The virus D.n.a infected and corrupted their brains and has changed their bodies,” He said coughing, “We have to save Sylex and get out of here!” Brad stood him up and ran over to the steps, he stopped and saw the viruses that had now fully changed and were just as angry and insane as Mel was. Tyler was not going to have Brad deal with this alone; he ran over to his desk on the opposite of them and grabbed his static neutralizer. It was shaped like a pistol but bigger. Each of them had changed into different forms, some on all fours while others on two legs, all frightening. It was nothing like he ever saw in his life; they had completely turned into abominations, only things you would have nightmares of. Tyler ran over shooting at them to get, “Brad go!” Brad nodded and got up the steps with his plasma rifle on guard, he typed in the code to release and wake Sylex up but before he could Mel jumped back in and blasted him back down where Tyler was. After Brad hit the ground Tyler dashed over to him to pull him up. That’s when Mel blasted a barrage of beams at them. It completely consumed them, when the smoke cleared they were both face down smoking. Panting she jumped down where they were, “That actually hurt.” Mel said irrated. She picked up the aggravated scientist by his throat with a new plan in mind. “I guess I’ll let you three weaklings live for now” she tauntingly,”Me and my new army are going to infect this world, and then come back for you three when all the inhabitants are all viruses. I hope you all will put a better fight the next time we meet.” Mel dropped him; he fell to the ground unconscious and so was Brad while Mel jumped through the hole in the wall she was blasted through, while the others blew open another one through the capsules following her. Once outside the group headed to shore, Mel stretched out her hands and the ground around them rose. A big chunk with them all on it popped of the ground levitating, that’s how they were getting off the island and flew away leaving the others stranded once she destroyed their ships. Three hours later they woke up… The moonlight shinned through the gapping hole and woke Tyler up. Sitting up he held his head, getting a thought of what had just happened really did. He looked around and saw all the capsules broken and the holes in the wall. He looked down next to him and saw his son was still knocked out; he nudged Brad trying to wake him up, “Brad, Brad are you alright?” After a few seconds he slowly sat up, moaning in pain, his side was still burned from the blast he took but he would be fine. He placed his hand on his father shoulder showing him he was fine, panting he responded back. “Yeah, it’s so hard to believe what just happened, it went down so fast. What are we going to do?” Tyler tried to think of a plan, he ran over to the phone and picked it up. No dial tone, the line was cut off. That was really bad, his lab was located on a private island, and on top of that the viruses destroyed the ships they had that took them on and off the island. Brad had seen it out the window seeing the burning remains. Tyler had no materials at all to rebuild one or anything that could get them off the island, he only had Sylex’s capsule which was also a space capsule being able to be flown to other planets in limited distance of course and one more that was left intact in storage. Now fully mixed with the same kind of D.n.a as the original viruses, they could not be destroyed by regular weapons, it would take a week to fully study the D.n.a and its weaknesses and by then the infection would have taken over at least half the planet. About an hour later on another planet, Riaz was about to head out to the desert with Troy when he thought he would give Tyler a call first about the discovery. So without hesitation he picked up his phone on his desk and dialed his number, he had “planetary cellular”. The dial tone came on, it kept ringing and ringing but no one picked up. After awhile even Tyler’s answering machine didn’t come on, this was beginning to disturb him. Riaz tried not to over react on the matter, it’s just what disturbed him is that Tyler never has his answering machine off. He shrugged grabbing his communicator connected with Troy and set course for downstairs to his garage, to fly to his Tyler’s planet to tell him in person. Riaz was openmouthed, stunned at what was happening the world was being destroyed. The cracks expanded and the planet could not take it anymore, and then BOOM it was nothing but bits and pieces of a once glorious world, the explosion was loud, it was like hearing thunder on Riaz’s planet. The screams from the people outside his house were heard, everyone out in the streets and in their cars saw it too when they heard the thunderous sound. He could hear them, asking many questions like “What has just happened to that world?” and “No, all those people!” So many citizens were talking about it; it was just so surprising to them, a whole world was just obliterated. Riaz was the most shocked of them all and now filled with endless sorrow over his friend Tyler. He fell to his knee’s eyes gushing with tears; all he wanted to know was “Why?” |

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | I liked this chapter alot. It had alot of information that you precisely organized. Also, your introduction, though it was just stating information, was interesting. Maybe put a quotation of one of the characters talking? Storywise, yes the chapter was excellent. This is just what I think, but shouldn't Virus be capitalized? Because it some type of people? |
