Default What's the differnce between Tech. points and Exp. points?

I was wondering whats the difference between tech points (like hiting the ball back at wakka) and Exp Points (gaining a lvl) Ive just really never noticed it even though i completed the game so many times.

Tech. Points (Technical Points) are actually the same as Exp. Points (Experience Points). Only, tech points work just like in fighting games. These are otherwise known as "counter points", wherein you gain score (or experience in KH) when you counter an attack.

-=edit=-
I forgot my main point... Anyway, if you'll notice in the beginning with Wakka, you get measley exp. points if you defeat him. Countering his attacks and getting mucho tech. points can give you experience boost in the beginning. But you can easily acquire tech. points from all of them (Wakka, Selphie, Tidus, and Riku). But I think (and if I remember correctly) these tech. points are easiest to get from Wakka.

Yeah. Tech Points are the same as Experience Points, but you only get them from countering an opponent's attack.

Viper A is correct. Wakka is indeed your best bet if you desire to get some good Tech points in the beginning og the game. Just make sure you dont hit Wakka with his blitzballs when countering

I found out that hiting those energy balls back at those "lanturn like" heartless gives you like 42 Tech points.

That probably only AFTER hollow bastion. By then 42 experience is nothing.

You also get tech points if you attacks an elemental heartless with their weak element
This only works on fire and ice.

You also get tech points for the mushrooms. If you cast the right speel on a White Mushroom or if you hit that other mushroom in the air.

It depends on how long you want to keep earning those tech. points. Each hit will gain you tech. points equivalent to the consecutive "nth" hit you made on the Rare Truffle (the other mushroom you're speaking of). Hit it one time and you get 1 point. Hit it 2 times and you get 1+2 points. Hit it 3 times and you get 1+2+3 points. Hit it 9 times and you get 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9 points. etc. The maximum you can get out of a Rare Truffle is 5050 experience points for hitting it 100 times consecutively without it landing.

N(N+1)/2

Use the equation for smaller numbers if you're curious to death about "what about if I only hit it 94 times? 83 times? 58 times?"
