Default Was Simple and Clean intentionally made to be played backwards?
Im sorry if this is under the wrong category or whatever - im brand new to threads and forums err wtvr.

i know that Sanctuary was intended to be played backwards but was Simple and Clean? or did ppl just make up the words? Showing me a source that it was CONFIRMED would be nice.

those lyrics bug the crap outta me, i just gotta know if it was done on purpose.

first off, the original song was in Japanese (Hikari). show me Hikari has the same backward meanings and then maybe i'd give it some credit, but then i still wouldn't because HOW DO YOU WRITE A SONG BACKWARDS!?

it's more your mind finding words instead of there actually being words there.

The video description has the reverse lyrics written out, a lot of it is coherent.

For fun, maybe one phrase or two are placed upside down, like in Sanctuary... Songs are really not meant to be heard upside down.

Im not so sure that they meant for KHI song to be backwards. In fact, i dont remember any of it being backwards. I do know that certain lyrics in "Sanctuary" were backwards. One that i know of is "laer era taht snoitome deen i", or somethin pretty darn close to that. I'm not sure where in the KHII opening sequence it is, but its in there. There are two different verses of backwards lyrics as well. I'm sorry if this has been known or has been told before. Just trying to point out for those who dont know.

No, I don't think it was supposed to be backwards. And like Teiku said, you probably just assume you hear words instead of the song actually having real words when played the other way round.
I have listened to it backwards once, and some parts of it do sound like real words. But I am quite sure that it's only my mind making assumptions.

I don't think so. Some parts of Sanctuary are reversed, but Simple and Clean isn't. Example, one of the backwards lines people 'hear' of Simple and Clean is something like "He was Ansem", and is supposed to tell Riku's story or something. But if Simple and Clean wasn't on KH, people would probably suppose the words were something completely different, so they'd make sense depending on what the song is in.

Even though Subliminal Messaging is a highly successful method of promotion... it is also illegal.

I think it's just a coincedence.

All/Most songs backwards make it seem like new words are being made.

Just remember... "The Mind Chooses what it wants to See... or in this case Hear".

lol, interesting idea but no way. Sanctuary, several lines were intentionally flipped backwards, like "so many ups and downs", "i need more affection that you know", and "i need true emotions". But simple and clean? Nuh-uh. It's all coherent forwards, not backwards. your mind is imagining the reverse lyrics.
