Default My look at the Kingdom Hearts Series so far...

I'll start of with saying KH is my favourite series so far.

The characters are charming, the story is perfect, the areas are cool, the gameplay is great and the graphics are perfect (The details in small things, not the graphics itself, allthough I myself find those great too, just not up to date, but who cares about that anyway...). And not to forget, I love the artwork.

Now, I just completed CoM today, which makes my list of KH games played complete (not counting the final mix versions and Re: CoM since I am not able to play or get those).

Kingdom Hearts I:

Where it started,
I first heard about KH in a commercial, and since the first time I saw the commercial I know I HAD to get that game, so bought it immidiatly after the release. When I saw the front of the box, I was like 'wow, this has to be special', and it was.

KHI was very hard back then, I got stuck all the time in every world possible, but because my brother had a save to, we could help eachother out now and then by finding new things/routes/whatever to continue the story. Only after I almost completed KHI, I found out you could actually switch keyblades (I've used the Kingdom Key a LONG time.). The whole story of KH sucked me in from the moment the game started with the beautiful intro. Although I was addicted and didn't want KH to end, I somewhere DID want to end (the what happens next issue...). And when I finally did, I was reliefed (the last boss was hard so I was proud). BUT, now KH ended /cry.

Kingdom Hearts II:

The follow up (for me, since I did CoM after KHII),
I waited for this game since I heard it was coming (with actual screenshots included <3),
Which was around 2004.

The waiting was LONG, terribly long, BUT worth it. When it was out, I once again bought the game immidiatly (just like the first game). The beginning was a little to long for me, but the Roxas, Axel and DiZ parts got me through it. After that, when Sora woke up and I could finally play with the keyblade wielder again, I was happy. Thing like the camera we're changed, Sora had a new cool suit (more eventually) and offcourse the reaction commands and drive bar were added.

The story sucked me up again, the fighting was great (so smooth, I loved it), and I could finally travel between the worlds again, KH was back! KHII was lots easier than KHI, because I knew how to play now, and it just was easier anyway. I've finished KHII within 3 days and took about 36 hours (No-life, hehe). And it was totally worth my money.

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories:

Since about four days, I got CoM in my possession, because I finally wanted to complete the series.
This game is (offcourse) different than KHI and KHII, but just as enjoyable, allthough I didn't like the card system at times (read: Bosses). At my Sora save I spend 21 hours completing the game, which I found hard (esspecially Riku 4) But enjoyable because I did beat him and the rest! After that I went playing Riku save, which only costed me 8 hours and alot less level grinding. Riku save was cooler, because in my opinion the action was faster, and Riku was awsome (Sora is the cooler guy, but I wanted to play Riku for once!).

Overall, I'm not going to compare the games, because they all have something that makes them good or special, but I do have some Up/Down-sides about each game:

KHI:
Kingdom Hearts I was perfect accept for the camera, which was anoying at times.

KHII:
Perfect if the game was just a little bit harder.

KHCOM:
A great inbetween game that cleared alot of unclear thing in the story for me. The upside is the downside, meaning, the cardsystem, because it was cool and well done, but not balanced at times. Another plus is that it breaths KH even in 2D, it just felt like a true KH game.

My collection of KH now is KHI, KHII, KHCOM, all the Bradygames Guides, a japanese Ultimania guide (About all the KH games including FM+), and the japanese KH Characters Report Vol. 2 Book. (I can't read japanese, but I just wanted to have those, to have them).

This was (for now) about it, waiting for BBS and 358/2 days now. And I hope Coded gets canceled, no cellphone KH for me. If you read till here, thanks for that ^^.

I'd have to admit about the summons, I've almost never used those in either KHI nor II.

KH1 bad stuff: I have to agree with the camera...
good stuff: Everything else

KH2 bad stuff: lack of platforming, the fact that most of the Disneyworlds were unimportant to the main storyline. Too easy! Final boss should be a lot harder!
Good stuff: After all I still enjoyed the game.

CoM: Never finished it so I can't say much.

yeah, the worlds were too easy. its probably why they made you do them twice.

Overall, in all the games, I though that the gameplay was great and so was the storyline!!
I actually kinda liked the card battle system, it was something new and exciting for me.
I'm playing Re:CoM right now and out of all the KH games, the CoM/Re:CoM story line would have to be the best (in my opinion, that it)
Just wondering, but what is the 'Japanese KH Characters Report Vol. 2 Book'?

KH1 Bad Stuff:Camera, Goofy and Donald pushing you off of every small platform that they can...
KH1 Good Stuff:Almost everything else
KH:COM:Never played it, if it does come out for U.S, I will play it, though.
KH2 Bad Stuff:Summons were kinda cheesy, the only one I really used was Genie, and that was in the Paradox tournaments.(I think that's what they are called) Worlds felt like they were just sidequests, unlike KH1, where the worlds actually tied in with the main story.
KH2 Good Stuff: Better Camera, More Keyblades, basically everything that wasn't in KH2 Bad Stuff list.
Pretty much what ::Venn::, Rixam, and Zoidberg said.

KHI was great.
KHII was good, if not repetitive and easy.
KH: CoM was sometimes repetitive, but I liked the Org. Members better than in KHII.

Oh, GODS yes, that was horrible X_X the camera gave me motion sickness all the time and Donald and Goofy I swear were working against me. They didn't want to find the puppies.

I didn't have too much beef against the KH2 summons, to be honest; I actually used them more than I did the summons in KH1 because of the tournaments. Stitch and Peter Pen = easy Point making. Peter Pen is an added bonus since you're untouchable when you're in Limit with him.

KH1 :
Bad stuff: Definately the camera.
Good stuff: Basically everything else

KH2:
Bad stuff: The fact the game was so short and easier then the first. And when you are in Olympus Coliseium and if you lose in the tournament, your potions and ether are gone and not saved like the first game...err...if you know what I'm talking about.
Good stuff: Everything else!!!!!!

KH: COM:
Bad stuff: I haven't finished the game....but I'm getting there! So nothing for now.
Good stuff: Same answer as above.

It's basically a character information book (Bought it off a site, thought it contained alot, if not, somewhat pages of artwork, which it doesn't). There's info about mostly the FF character's (Tifa/Yuffie and their companions) And about the org. XIII. Because it being japanese I originally ordered it for the Artwork, but hey! It's a nice collector's item anyway. (To bad I can't find Vol. 1, hehe).

BTW: I have to add to KHII, it's an easy game, BUT, because of the story I didn't really mind that all the time, because I wanted to know what was going to happen next, or what happened because of what.
