Time Period

When does the story of kingdom hearts take place? i mean they have no cellphones cars or any modern things. So...r they in the past future or present?( Very unlikely that its the future) I've been thinking about this for a while

EDIT: What about destiny islands time period? when does that take place?

Well in Kingdom Hearts 2, they have computers. Lasers. spaceships capable of interdimensional travel.

I'd say AU.

Alternate Universe.

I think their time works differently than this universe, each world has a different time zone?

it deepends of what world your talking about,
in Pirates, its like late 1800's and early 1900's or something

Pride lands, early human times, cause there are no people around and animals like rule the area

dragon lands, in Chinese ruling times

agrabah, way to long ago...

World Never Was- present, cause theres a truck that crashed, and Sky scapers...

I'd guess that each world are in different periods of time as well.
TWTNW and Hollow Bastion could be somewhat futuristic (probably the most futuristic in the game) since they have the most technical status (lack for a better word).

I agree with PMF, it takes place in a universe all of it's own and certain worlds take place in different times and they have varying levels of technology and what have you. There's no point in really questioning it though...
