Kingdom Hearts is in the present. Beause if it wasn't than either the stuff you're doing has already happened, or what you're doing is going to happen. In this game, everything you do is done when you do it. (Hope I didn't confuse anyone)
The only way of Past would be BBS because it already happened. Everything else is happening as you do it. Like following the storyline, nothing you've done comes after what you're doing so it's present.

i didn't get wat u ment but....i ment like past present and future as in time PERIODS not general time. Like past is dinosaurs and present is cars and future is all high tech stuff liek flying cars

KH takes place over a multitude of worlds. It just depends on how far a certain world has developed. A Monsters Inc. world, for instance, would be more advanced then, say, Agrabah.

It really all depends on the world.
I also felt that Twilight Town's level of technology was about identical to ours. And I use that as the basis for the KH universe.

Like it was said though, its moreso a futuristic one.

they probably have that stuff, its just not really important to the story, FF had cars but they wasn't important, so they made you walk

Kingdom Hearts takes place in the present time, but I do not think the time period really matters because Kingdom Hearts is just a fantasy world.
