Did you like how FF Characters were portrayed in KH?

Simple question. Do hardcore fans of Final Fantasy like how some were portayed in Kingdom Hearts?

I only ask this because I recently picked up FFX and started playing it. As the game went on, I just got into the characters and ended up hating what happned to some of them.

Tidus - A deep, cool, blitzball playing character that weilded a wicked sword turned into a little annoying kid. I loved his FF Character. His character had determination and strength which came along with a deep mind. I love that about his character.

Yuna - A summoner turned Gunslinger turned little Tinkerbell like Fairy?

Auron - He's like my favorite character in FFX right now, and I liked and hated his role in KH2. I liked his interaction with Sora and Co. and how he fought against Hades, but I hated how he was controlled by Hades and his soul was put into a doll. It made him lose his edge. He had that "I live by my own rules" attitude.

Don't even get me started on Wakka, Rikku, Paine, Selphie, Seifer, Vivi, etc.

So, did you guys like how FF Characters were portrayed in KH? Feedback would be good.

I totally agree with you! I don't undertsand that Yuna, Rikku and Paine fairy thing.. I was like.. WTF!? When I saw them appeared as fairies. Why? That must be the character portrayal I hated the most. Auron was better. I also hated the doll thing, but other than that I don't feel that they ruined his character.

Leon, Aerith and co was pretty much ok. Not much to say about them. but I'm glad they changed Clouds costume in KH1. That Vincent Valentine costume didn't seem right on Cloud..

I also didn't like how the "Twilight Town gang" was portrayed. It was pretty obvous that they were thrown in there as cameos. They could easily been replaced with original characters.

So, I also hated a lot of the character portrayals, especially Yuna, Rikku and Paine, but some of the portrayals wasn't so bad.

It's because they wanted to include the cameo, but without using their personal gaming influences as such, if you understand what I mean?

For example; we all know Squall (Leon) Leonheart from Final Fantasy: VIII, but the Kingdom Hearts production team didn't want people to portray him from Final Fantasy: VII, rather his new given personality within Kingdom Hearts.

I guess they needed three female characters, why not use some hot Final Fantasy cameos?

That aside... I did like it, though I try to view it seperately from the FF games. These are alternate versions after all, not the characters themselves.

Nomura really f***ed Setzer up. Originally, he was a fairly bad-ass gambler. Here, he sucked. Not cool at all. How could Nomura do this? How?

in an interview nomura said that he had to make YRP faeries because he said if he made all the FF cameos full size then it would just look bad because there all old and tall.

The FF characters in KH arent the same as the ones from their respective games, they are totally different counterparts. They've been given a new background and story line to fit the game. I think they did a great job, besides Seifer, he dint even have a role in my opinon, he was just there to take up space on the disk.

Well, trying to get Roxas to throw the fight is about as bad-ass as it gets in a game where about half of everything is Disney

I haven't played all the FF games, but I can tell some of the portrayals were pretty...uh...

Wakka and Selphie were just...ugh..."What's happening, mon" = WTF? and a jumprope? Can't believe that thing actually hurt (not that it wouldn't in real life, but it did damage). Tidus could've been a little bit better.

Vivi and Seifer's gang could've had more done to them then just turning him into...that. Vivi supposed to be a boy yet they made him sound like a girl. An 8-9-year-old doesn't sound like that. And Seifer...could've made him a little older so he looked as tough as he did in FF8.

Yuna should've been more mellow than preppy like Rikku and Paine should've been more...darker, but then again it is rated 10+.

Aerith...I know she was not that monotone in the game. Even though I don't like her a lot, they could've made her like how she was in FF7/AC in being fun in a way. They almost made her like a zombie. O.o
