I basically like all of it! The battle music was my favorite tone. It just always matched prefect with the fights!

my favorite soundtracks in kingdom hearts one are bustin' up on the beach, traverse town, blast away, night of fate, a very small wish, and having a wild time.

There are a few songs that I like greatly such as Destiny Islands, Night of Fate To Our Surprise, Having a Wild Time, Traverse Town, A Very Small Wish, Monstrous Monstro, Neverland Sky, An Adventure in Atlantica, Winnie the Pooh, Bounce-O-Rama, Tension Rising, Roxas, Working Together, Monochrome Dreams, Passion (or Sanctuary), but there are some that really stand out for me:

-Hikari (Orchestral Version): This is a popular one, but I just can't get over it. The song is the exact same thing as the abridged Version and it sounds so great. The instruments fit together in the song so well and it just sounds so...so...nice.

-Go For it!: The battle theme to Olympus Colisseum. I find that both the exploring and battle themes of every world fit perfectly with the mood of said world and of the situation, and this one is no exception. The blaring trumpets give this song an upbeat and epic feel that fits well with the Hercules universe.

-Pirate's Gigue: The Neverland battle theme. This is my absolute favourite song in all fo the games, and I honestly can't explain why. I don't have much knowledge in music so I can't explain the musical part of it, but something about just stands out. I wouldn't even know want genre to classify it in, but I find it so...great.

-Hollow Bastion: I don't usually love ominous music, but this one is just so amazing. The piano work is definately great in being creepy, and I love the violin work at the end.

March Caprice for Piano and Orchestra: This sounds like a farewell song, like a song that would be played at a graduation. Needless to say, I love it.

-Rowdy Rumble: This one sounds like some kind of Russian dance song. I love how the intensity of it increases after each few mesures, only to have go back down again.

-The 13th Dilemma: The fast-paced tempo and the ominous feeling of this song make the battles against the Organisation XIII members all the more intense.

I really like Kingdom Hearts' music, I find it to be of pretty high quality (although, upon listening to them more frequently, I notice they have more of a midi sound to them) and the world themes I find fit each of the worlds so well. Out of the two, I prefer KH's soundtrack. It sounds...I don't know, of higher quality? I can't really explain it.

In no particular order, and off the top of my head:

Kingdom Hearts 1:
  • Night of Fate (Destiny Islands, heartless attack)
  • Destiny's Force (Destiny Islands, boss battle against Darkside)
  • Hollow Bastion: probably the most atmospheric of all world music
  • whatever plays at the End of the World: second most atmospheric of all world music

Kingdom Hearts 2:
  • The 13th Order (a.k.a. Organization XIII): the saddest group that ever existed in Kingdom Hearts
  • The 13th Dilemma: Saix going berserk, Demyx going emo, Xigbar going bonkers, Xaldin going into rage... and all of this at once.
  • Isn't It Lovely?: the most peaceful song of Kingdom Hearts
  • The Corrupted: truly corrupted, especially the major heartless battles

Others:
  • The 13th Reflection: the most atmospheric battle song OrgXIII ever received
  • Castle Oblivion (KH Re:CoM): very creepy, especially the low drum beats sounding a lot like footsteps echoing in a hall
  • Lord Of The Castle: Marluxia unleashed... need I say more?
  • Disappeared (KH1:FM): very creepy, just like Castle Oblivion... the KH2 version puts the grand piano into the background, and the trumpets (?) too much into the foreground, hence KH1:FM Disappeared > KH2 Disappeared

Personal DISAPPROVEMENTS:
  • The Other Promise: Doesn't fit the whole setup at all. This is a BOSS FIGHT, not a FLASHBACK. So please no emo music.
  • One-Winged Angel: Too slimmed down. Shimomura took away too much of the instrumental work, making it sound really thin. KH2 version was better, though not enough.

Agree with you there.

The title is actually End of the World lol, and the battle music is Fragments of Sorrow. It's the music of Destati, that plays during the tutorial at the beginning of the game, although I'm sure you already knew that. ;)

I agree with you as well on the KH2 version, but I've never heard the KH: Final Mix version, does it play when you fight Xemnas at Hollow Bastion?

I don't believe I've ever heard this one, since I can't find it in either of my albums. Does it appear in one of the Final Mixes or in CoM (Re: CoM)? Or did I just miss something?
