what the big deal with ansom anyway why is he so powerful and why is he wanting to destroy all the planets

I guess he's powerful because he gave up his body and opened his heart to taking in all the darkness as he could to become a powerful Heartless. Not to mention he's supposedly had supernatural powers before coming a Heartless. He wants to destroy the worlds to make Kingdom Hearts so that he could gain more power (and possibly rule every world), but didn't expect there to be light inside that would kill him. Power hungry. Meh.

We all know that Darkness is powerful and Ansem Must have hungred for that darkness so he gave his heart to it so he could use that power.
I belive that darkness can sometimes be more powerful the light, but thats my opinion =]

i dont think he was trying to destroy the worlds, he was just trying to gain the ultimate power from kingdom hearts. you would know this if you've played kh1 heartless. dont say i dont know, because i do, hes my best freind in real life, and i know hes only watched his freind play it, hes only actually played kh2.
