Maybe this has already been discussed before, but why does rikus entire outfit from kingdom hearts 1 match the soras keyblade. Then when he get the new one it matches the dark outfit?

Cool, I never noticed that! Maybe its Nomura's way of connecting Riku with the keyblade? Either that, or it was purely coincidental.

I can see some similarities,his yellow shirt/jacket or whatever matches the Kingdom key,his pants sorta match with the kingdom key too.

It isn't actually something major.

here they are!!of course they were not coincidental!!!we know that riku was supposed to get the keyblade but sora's heart won it,the moment riku trusted darkness.nomura must have based their clothes (both riku and sora) at this fact...

I always thought that the dark, sinew-like costume was supposed to show the similarities between Riku and Ansem. That and the hair is so similar, specially as he gets older in KH2.

But I don't see what you're saying about the first outfit matching the keyblade. I just dismissed it as crazy Nomura at it again with his character design...

I'm pretty sure he meant the overall colour scheme of Riku and his clothes matches the Kingdom Key, because the Kingdom Key has silver, blue and yellow in its design.

if u played part 1 you know the keyblade was originally meant 4 riku but he joined the dark so it chose sora maybe thts why
