Relevance to the bigger plot-line

What relevance does the opening of Kingdom Hearts have with the entire story line?
I just started my third game a couple minutes ago, and the beginning looked pretty meaningful.

The opening of Kingdom Hearts is very similar to the ending of Kingdom Hearts II.

the baginning of the first game is sorta boring i'll start the second one soon but really i'm thinking of later on in the game other than what i see now so i can see what the story really is but im just starting though

The beginning CG movie of KH2 is pretty much a premonition of what happens to Sora at the end of KH2

KH2 beginning is a bit of a (distorted) explaination of what happened in the past two games. However, only if you actually played the last two games would you really understand it. It also explains a bit....

KH1 beginning was a premonition, yes, but I thought it was also introducing Sora. Sora's a loyal person, who's being controlled by forces.... beyond his control. He tries to help Riku (the blue-haired dude) from the tidal wave and stuff, but is swept away and has no control over what happens next.

Its like a beginning theme to an anime or cartoon, it doesn't have to make sense, just look cool XD

When you mean start, do you mean the 'dream', or introduction movie? But yes, both play a part within the story.

I've played all the games before. I was just wondering what the beginning had to do with the entire story, him falling from the sky, etc.

This is in KH, I don't think I said anything about KH2...
