Anyways...why do they call is Kingdom Hearts?

(Stupid question, I know)

My little cousin (you should know him if I told you before that he used my account) likes the game and after relentless beatings on him for trying to take my games, he finally asked why they call it Kingdom Hearts...

He was thinking Kingdom Come means destruction. So, Kingdom Hearts would be the opposite. I was like: "It's just a name." But since he proved to me that Final Fantasy's name is called that for a reason, he was wondering if Kingdom Heart's name was called that for a reason.

(Sorry to spam...ugh! If this doesn't get resolved, it's going to be stuck in my head all day!!!)

I think that's a valid question.

Kingdom Hearts, as Ansem has said, is where ALL hearts are born. He is, most likely, correct in saying so. So, I dunno. I guess the word kingdom is used to emphasize its importance.

right b4 you beat ansem in the endless abyss ansem says (sry if im not 100% right) here is the sorce of all hearts: kingdom hearts. kingdom hearts is the sorce of all hearts or worlds thats why its called kingdom hearts. sry if im not all the way right.

Ugh!!! That explains nothing...Yeah "Behold the endless abyss. Within it lies the heart of all worlds: Kingdom Hearts!" (I remember the whole KH script by memory -_-).

Why?! Why is it called Kingdom Hearts?

[Just to add details to why I'm so concerned on this question: Final Fantasy is called FF because Final Fantasy was meant to be Square's last project but because of its success, the company survived and made a saga dedicated to the series.]

i agree, this question had me thinking for a while too, but this is what i think now is the best expaination^^^

For all you know the game could've bee called "The door to darkness". And Ansem could've said: "Behold the endless abyss. Within it lies the heart of all worlds: The door to darkness!"

Sad...

So...I don't know the significance to the title of the game

Well, the game did have a lot to do with people losing their hearts:" princess, kairi, riku, sora (for a moment), I think King Mickey (did he?). Maybe that also ties in with the end---I don't know! I'm just throwing out random stuff.

FF is called that way, because what happens in that world is final, why do you think there's no repetion in charecters, as for fantasy is categorize as fantasy, not drama, or sci. fiction.

it was supposed to be square's last project but it was such a success that they made a series of it.

Kingdom Hearts is the heart of the kingdoms, aka worlds.

i agree about being squares' last project, but as we all know a series has to at least include the same chareter from the first series, exp: harry potter, in all of its books harry potter is inclded, for ff to become a series at least one charecter from the original game has to be included. my point ff kept on going, not because of its popularaty, but because nomura couldn't name his games in some other way. Just kidding, all i know is that for me ff7 was the only hit for ff saga, the other games i didn't like. i doubt that other ff games where such a hit that square enix had to continue with the saga.

woah you guys are thinking way too much into this i think lol. ansem says it himself...its the "heart of all worlds" thats what kingdom hearts is....the heart of all worlds......and the whole game as you find out at the end revolves around the heart of all worlds, or kindom hearts....so why wouldnt they name it that? what would you have liked them to name it...sora's great adventure or something?? just use your brain :) ok that sounded mean...no mallace intended. (spelling?)
