Trickmaster R/R help

I have a feeling this'll sound incredibly silly, but I'm have trouble beating Trickmaster in R/R. The deck is kind of weak, with cards all under 5, and Trickmaster uses a lot of over 5 cards, and rarely 0's and 2's. That's ok, since I manage to dodge around mostly everything, but even with Maleficent and Jafar I can't take him down. I get him to about 2-3 life bars, but run out of cards, and reloading will only get me one 2 and one 1 card.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong, or what I should try? It's really annoying and I feel like there's just some simple trick to it, or that I'm just not thinking of something really obvious.

I just beat the trickmaster in R/R actually, I was level 40 though so I'm not sure what level you are now.. my main objective when visiting a new world is defeating the heartless in every room in the world, in the nightmare before christmas world this got me 8 levels higher which was pretty surprising.

The main thing to do is never use sleights with the deck in this world, because you'll keep going through what just happened, all I did was dodge roll and jump out of the attacks I couldn't break, then jump on the table and kept mashing the circle button. Also one good technique to do if you have any mickey cards is jump on the table, and do a sleight with 1 mickey card and two other attack cards and make sure to lock onto the trickmaster, that'll cut off a good portion of his health after a couple of those.

You were right, not using sleights was the answer to beating him. Thanks for the help, now I can finally go on

no problem I'm in twilight town now, so only the massive castle oblivion world after this and then I've finished the game! ^_^
