Can KHIII live up to the hype?

I've been browsing some other forums, and I've noticed (more like reminded) a common trend. Everyone keeps screaming KHIII. I've seen this with a few games. Where the fans hype up a game and then when they get it it dosen't live up to their expectations. So what do you guys think. Will KHIII not even come close to meeting the hype. Or will it just blow everyone minds.

well at this point we really cant say since no info has come out about it as far as gameplay and such, maybe a foreshadowing of the story but nothing really to go off of.

Your probably right. But hopefully it will still be a fun game, and that's all you can ask for.

IDK y but I really disliked Days. I found it a little repetitive in the missions.

Anyways, KHIII will live up to some of the people's hype, and it will disappoint a lot of people. I doubt Chrono Mizaki will even be happy with anything in the game.
No game will have everyone 100% satisfied. That includes Kingdom Hearts.
I doubt even Verses will live up to a lot of the hype.

No. It's taken too long and at this point a lot of people are rather desensitized.

Unless they can completely revolutionize they way they make KH, it won't live up to the hype. I'm still a bit surprised there is hype for a game that hasn't really been officially announced and only mentioned in passing.

It would take a lot to make it live up to the hype around it:

(note: this is not things I want out of KH, but what I've observed from fans)

• More open, platformed-filled areas with the inclusion of interactive environments
• A ton of NCPs to give live to the worlds, something that hasn't been seen in previous games
• A graphical update. People seem to have high hopes for a KH game that has FFXIII-level graphics
• Less Disney (-_-)
• A darker plot. They want blood and mature themes...

There are more things that I'm sure people want out of KH3, but I'm too lazy to go on.

I personally think a lot of the hate for KH2 comes from over-hype.

This is so goddamn true, couldn't agree more.

Considering KH's now largely unpleasable fanbase I would be already surprised if KH III even gets a largely compliant "decent".

Over-hype is surely, beside all flaws the game no doubt has, one of the reasons for KH2-hate. I would say that even holds true to BBS, despite that one apparently widely considered the second best after the much hyped KH 1.

My favorite game of all time is BBS and I think KH III will be almost as or better then that. And yes, I think it will live up to my hype. When I hype a game I have the tendency to fall more in love with it then when I don't hype it (like BBS and Skyrim which I hyped to death, especially BBS).
I don't know about 3D though. right now it seems good but I don't like the dream eaters. I think I'll get used to it and maybe even fall in love with them as the game comes out but right now I don't expect it to beat the original.

Since we are allowed to correct people (I didn't know if it was being rude) I figured I'd do that since I have a tendency to correct people...sorry...not meant to be rude.

I'm using this as sake of an example, why KH3 CANNOT live up to everyone's hype. I'll use the "less Disney" example above. Now, as much as many people may want less Disney, I actually want MORE Disney (I like Disney). Thus, going by that, if SE includes less Disney, I'll be dissapointed, while this group will be happy. If SE includes more Disney, I'll be happy, while the other group will be sad. If SE find a medium, both groups will be sad because we both didn't get exactly what we wanted.

Because of many problems that exist with KH like this, it isn't possible to live up to the hype. Not to mention you will have those n00bs who believe that KH3 has been in production since KH2, and they'll be like "YOU'D THINK IF SE HAD SO MANY YEARS TO MAKE THIS GAME, IT WOULD BE BETTER HURR DERR!!!"
