Rep Power: 1 ![]() | I have an European SCPH-77004 PS2 Slim... and I want to play FM+. So... what's the easiest way? Does Swap Magic work for PAL systems? If so, what version do I need? Hopefully someone here knows this stuff... |

| Warrior of Darkness | Yes. I have the same ps2version as you, and I use that SM on mine. Not those Magic switches tho, haven't tried them. I use Magic Keys2, and they work very well. |

Welcome to Swap Magic 3 Official Web Site It's the official site, you will find there what you need. For the ordering, I'd suggest getting it from here: ModChipStore.com - Xbox, DS (Lite), GameCube, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, and Wii Mod Chips. Play Original Backups & Imports! That's where I got mine from, but of course you are free to choose. There are some problems though with playing an import game via SwapMagic on PAL PS2s: 1. The screen is smaller (Black margin at the bottom) 2. Sound and video are often out of synch in normal cutscenes (not too much of a problem, though) and sound doesn't work at all at CG cutscenes (intro, secret movies, etc..). 3. Game is slightly slower (probably won't notice that anyway, because it's really just a little.) Well, I bought KHFM+ only for the battles so it's fine for me. If you're playing it for the story and extra cutscenes, well good luck... @Gazer: Have you got a PAL PS2, too?

| Warrior of Darkness | Hey, you can also use 2 pieces of cardboard and a straw if you don't want to buy the Magic Keys! I did that in the beginning, and I would have continued to, if I haven't got the MK2's for free :] Here's a pretty good videoguide that shows how to "install" the pieces on your console: YouTube - HOW TO BLOCK PS2 SLIM SENSORS |

NTSC games work...with some restrictions (I posted the issues in my last post. ^^) Slide tools and Flip Tops (Flip Tops are even better) work without any problems from what I've heard, the only problem that could arise with the Slide Tool is removing the front cover of the disc tray of the PS2, because there is a small chance that you might damage the disc tray. But your model is a PS2 with a normal Disc tray, right? Not a Flip Top I guess. Well then you'll probably have no other choice than to use the Slide tool.

| Warrior of Darkness | Swap Magic has both NTSC versions and PAL versions out, so you can play any PS2 game on your system. Or if you want, buy a mod chip for the system. The fat old PS2s only have the Slide Tool and Flip Top available to get the Swap Magic to work (or if you find your own means, then use that). I know 60GHz TVs can't play PAL's 50GHz games right, but not sure about the other way around. You can find a conversion box on ebay so 50GHz will be converted to 60 and vice versa. |
