I cant use command menu!

What´s wrong? The X works in pause-menu but not in command menu. i.e. i cant attack and use magics and items from it. The X doesnt work!

Why?

In Shortcut-menu it works when I heal myself with L1+X =( Only the command-menu doesnt use X ;___;

look somethings wrong with the controller or you might have a configuration error or the system isnt computing the x button pushing or you are not pressing hard enough it can be a number of things im sure it will work eventualy

Mines starting to get a little like that too... i think sometimes it's cos of too much hard pressing... but it mite not be working cos of the pressure created from other buttons in the controller, that mite be y it only works with th L1

No, the error is in the game, not controller.

X works in Pause-menu on its own. ONly COmmand Menu sucks ;___;

Well, it is curved with the disc. I think that there was something in my ps2, that scratched it when it was going round and round..

It is about 2cm long curve and maybe 0,5mm deep

Oooo, doesn't sound too good... shouldn't affect it though, in my opinion... maybe go through the options menu and reset everything if you havent already

Nah, it is in every saved games.. You can hit with keyblade, when there are no enemies near, right? Nah, it is the whole command-menu..

What other? It works when I press L1 and the magics pop-up, and then I can choose who I heal with arrows and press X.

Only the one with "Attack","Magic","Items","Examine" doesnt work =(

This is Kingdom Hearts. Not KH2. There's only one command menu XD.

Honestly, I have no idea why. Try changing controllers if you have another one. Or, if you don't, try a different game and see if X works properly. If it still doesn't work after you've changed a controller, or works fine with another game, we can safely assume its not the controllers problem. Most likely, it is the controller's fault.

I doubt that its the scratch on the disc that is causing the problem. My discs have tri-millions of scratches and they work fine. And it seems very strange that the one scratch on it only affects the X button on the command menu... I have a limited knowledge of compact discs, but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't work that way.
When did this start? A month ago? An hour ago? Since you bought the disc? If its been messing up ever since you've had the disc, then its probably some error in the disc itself. I think.

I am more inclined to blame the PS2 personally, simply because mine sucks (it freezes halfway through cutscenes, can't read most discs until you reset it 10+ times, and just generally oozes suckiness), but if it IS the PS2's problem, then its also the hardest to resolve. Which I don't know how. I guess you can see if you can exchange it, if your warranty thing hasn't expired. But I highly doubt this. The PS2, if it has errors, affects all games you play (like me), not just one disc specifically. And it usually doesn't break easily. Unless you drop it. From a high window. On the 30th floor. Onto concrete. With broken glass.

The X works in everywhere else but the command-menu.
