Exclamation Square-Enix kicking the boot to one of it's popular franchises! Could it be kh?

A German website is speculating that Square-Enix might be planning on selling two of its exclusive game franchises in the coming months. This is due to the concern of compensating for rising development costs. It's unclear which game series is going to go, who is going to buy the game series, and which remaining games get to stay with Square-Enix.

The German site also set up a poll asking people to vote which game should get the boot first: Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, SaGa, Seiken Densetsu, Chrono, Parasite Eve, Valkyrie Profile, Front Mission, Vagrant Story, and Keine Ahnung. (--Keine: German avant-garde electro-pop formation).

Kingdom Hearts belongs to Square Enix and Disney and Disney is not going to let Kingdom Hearts be sold. Its like one of the best video games Disney had there name on, I mean it the only good game that Disney has there name on. xD

Final Fantasy is obliviously not leaving.

I doubt kh and ff would be leaving any time within the next many many many years.

Hm, Kingdom Hearts is making them alot of money. I think they'll boot the one with the lowest income, but that obvious, the formula would be income vs. developement cost.

Isn't Nomura employed by Square? If so why would he be announcing new things for KH if he most likely won't be directing, or maybe not even character designing if it gets sold to another company?

Also KH2:FM+ is coming out in the 'upcoming months'

They will make a lot of money off of that as well, and I doubt they would sell it if they just released a new project on it, and are planning future ones for it.

Best Educated Guess: KH is staying.

I would go with it being SaGa. Endless SaGa was total crap and didn't sell very well from what I heard. The people who bought it that I know of only did to watch the FFX-2 video. A few of them sold it back to the store after about 2 or 3 days. I wouldn't mind Square getting rid of it.

KH will not be sold, neither will FF, but I don't really care about the other ones

They had BETTER NOT boot Star Ocean or I'll kill them myself. :O
Also, I doubt they'd drop KH in its prime....
PS. Hybrid Unknown, please take out the animated gif in your sig, or at least create a hypertext link to it on your host. It lags my comp...

I'm thinking that Dragonquest will be one of them, since it would be an economical good deal, and they would be able to use the majority of the great rpg ideas they come up with for the ff games.

Chrono series has a big fan base, but Square doesn't seem to be going anywhere with it, so they might just let someone else purchase it.

Dragon Quest is the most popular game in Japan period. It's so popular that there is a law that makes sure SE is not allowed to release the game on weekdays. Thats how big it is.

You know "Keine Ahnung" directly translates to "no idea".

Quite good to have in poll.

I highly doubt it would be FF or kingdom hearts, those are the most talked about games that they have in my opinion. it might be dragon quest.

Already posted.^^ but no one seemed to care..

http://forums.khinsider.com/showthread.php?t=74554

and no its Not KH..

Who the hell would buy it? They still would have to pay Square to use FF characters and still pay Disney.

Most likely Chrono is one of them.. They may sell it to Mistwalker. and if that is true. The 360 just one Japan over.

Its not, DQ, FF or KH.. It will be title they don't use anymore more. MS is most likely buying them and giving them to Mistwalker.

._.

Maybe it's the Chrono series. S-E doesnt use the title anymore for games so they wouldn't really need to keep it. ;_; It's still just a rumor though.
